  1. Tyroned, I'm reading this same info, but not seeing the "DOJ still not happy part"? Where are you getting this? Can you link or post something?
  2. And I agree with you. No objections. But they now have been reviewing and re-reviewing it multiple times. I don't get this at all. The rules and the game keep evolving. Again the DOJ line of "there is no magic number" (of carries) seems to carry no weight anymore...
  3. Read this the other day... I believe Pai issued it Tuesday .... Makes perfect sense. I don't get why there is so much "convincing" having to go on at the DOJ? Pai and Makan had lunch and discussed. This whole thing has been just crazy. With Charley (Dish) now stirring the pot, and his known in-flexibility.... this can just be a waste of money and time.... The addition of a "4th player" should have never been suggested. If and when this is finally completed, how fast do you think T Mob will get running?
  4. If there is a different pres, then the whole thing will get scrapped. It won't happen.
  5. DOJ has no "shot clock"...you're thinking of the FCC Shot Clock. Sources close to the DOJ say it was to be either today or by next week.... Not Fall. Nothing about this case has gone as planned. So it is anyone's guess.
  6. Sounds like a win-win situation to me if that does happen. And best of all, it gives the combined company some extra (possibly $6 Billion) to really get integration work done quickly.
  7. If that is true, it could also help the New T Mobile as Dish's spectrum could possibly be shared as well. Dish will take a few years to get enough of their own towers and equipment to run on their own.
  8. Tyrone... Nobody, including Craig Moffet knows what the details are, ... as do none of us. Until the details are clearly released in public, this is all nothing but speculation. We don't know how much spectrum will have to be giving up or even if any. They make great news headlines for the investment markets and help give Moffet a paycheck. Until the DOJ makes a damned overly long awaited decision and publicly announces, we are just rubbing the crystal ball. I happened to knock mine over and it broke hitting the floor thank goodness! At this rate, if the DOJ announces, it will be Friday at 4pm in the afternoon.
  9. ...and that is called oversight. Oversight is what management is supposed to do. Making sure things are getting done and on time.
  10. Great... it had to do with Nextel?!! Gary Forsee... Sprint/iDen integration.... LOL!!!... OMG!! Again, I stand by my original thoughts.
  11. I'm not sure Ericsson was to blame.... after all, we are talking about Sprint. Money / Management issues ... If you're not releasing funding when you're suppose to and you are constantly changing directions, how good can they be?
  12. So why is he interjecting on the meeting with Ajit Pai and Makan Delrahim for. Sounds fishy.
  13. Dish trying to pull strings to influence at FCC and DOJ meeting during past week. (Yahoo News/Reuters) So Charley is crying and kicking to FCC and "Certain members of the DOJ" cause now he says Dish can't build out their spectrum because of the Sprint and T Mobile merger. WTF? Charley says there needs to be 4 players in the cellular market. Why? Is Sprint and T mobile strong arming him? This is new levels of preposterous! Why don't they throw this clown out on his ears! Again, from Market Watch: Dish Network discusses opposition to Sprint-T-Mobile U.S. merger, according to FCC file Where's that damn bucket of popcorn!!??
  14. Hope you're right Robert. I'm hoping this gets all ironed out.
  15. By the way, The Hill is a publication mostly made up of Dem's. Just saying. All the suing parties are Dems. Not trying to make this sound political but it is. this is totally on party lines.
  16. Time for a bathroom break.... We've ate too many Large orders of Popcorn and big gulp sodas... Sorry...couldn't resist the opportunity to bring "potty talk" into it. LOL
  17. My opinion is Dish is interested only if the Government slices up Sprint's and some of T Mobile's spectrum and basically hands it over on a silver tray at substantially lower than market value I'm sure... I don't think Dish want's to cough up any more money than they have to...actually I don't get the feeling they are even really interested. Dish is just stirring the pot. And the longer the morons at the DOJ take the more they give the haters time to compose and assemble. This should have been decided last week or 2 weeks ago when the FCC came out with their approval opinion. They usually announce in unison... Again... nothing is progressing normally. What happened to Amazon? I've heard nothing more about them wanting to buy Boost.
  18. I agree with all of you. Make Dish give up their wasted and unused spectrum they have been hording. Do not make Sprint T Mobile give up anything. This whole plan by the government, specifically the DOJ is one F..*.'ed Upped mess! What a stupidly bad plan!!!
  19. They don't seem to care Red Dog.... they are putting all sorts of BS on Sprint and T Mobile. Making them form another carrier that can compete with all of them. I call that "out of the box".... It's crazy. What happened to the idea that "there is no magic number (National players in wireless)?
  20. I'm not sure, but I think that T Mobile and Sprint would sue ... even if the DOJ said no. Just my thoughts.
  21. I'm wondering if the time line here is on purpose? Perhaps the States attorney generals knew the DOJ was about to make their decision and they rushed to file today, with the goal of filing papers in court before the DOJ made a public decision? They've had so long to do this. None of it makes sense. Kinda their way of forcing the hand of the DOJ??? Thoughts?
  22. This feels like one of the longest mergers in history to me. After nearly a year and half... I have a hard time thinking the DOJ would reject this. If they were, they should have done it long ago (months). But now, can't figure out what is taking so long to review? Everyday is morning money wasted.
  23. I'm not sure if network sharing were to happen, that it would only be 2.5G. I think it would have to be everything. Especially since Sprint doesn't have VoLTE set up everywhere. Doesn't that play into factors as well? Does anyone know how many different updates Sprint currently have in process? (VoLTE, LTE advanced (Massive Mimo), and 5G? Aren't these all separate but lead to 5G? Kinda typical and frustrating. Too many irons in the fire and none complete.
  24. Yeah, I thought it was early June as well. I could be wrong. None of it matters until the DOJ is done. P.S. Thanks for the update Tyroned... You answered before I could post.
  25. Great! I say scrap it all and let start over. After all, it's only time and money. Forget about 5G and VoLTE! We have to debate them starting up a 4th player! I don't think the DOJ wants to outright block them, because I think they are afraid they'd loose in the courts.
