This is absolutely false. The latest iPhone always started at $649 MSRP. This is the first year in which the iPhone started at $699 (while they did bump the storage memory, everyone and their Mamas know memory is cheap)

I guess you don't need to ask the UK why MacBook prices are 200 plus more then everyone else being charged, and Apple care being 199 for iPhone X, raised from 129, which was raised from 99. And don't go looking for band 71 on the new phones, it isn't there. Everything on the fcc certification site came out today.

I was told that decoupling phones from service by ending 2-year contracts would push the market to lower phone prices.

And here we are with a "starting at $999" phone.

Apple has been raising pries for the last couple of years, did you believe otherwise? Also bumped up AppleCare for the iPhone X to $199. Kind of laughing at the flub on the live stream where face ID didn't work right.

  3. I have an interesting issue with my OnePlus 5. I have dual SIMs one ATT and the other TMobile. Whenever I have attached set as the default data card, SCP works normally showing the signal in the notification bar and in the app, but when I switch to T-Mobile as the default card for data. LTE data never shows. I can send logs so you can see what's going on.

Unfortunately you are not going to get data from the 2nd Sim, dual Sim phones don't work like that, I don't know why people keep thinking they do. Primary Sim phone and data, secondary Sim phone only.

  4. Fantastic update to the SignalCheck Pro app. I know there has been a lot of changes between the different Android revisions which probably led to setbacks and just in the wireless industry in general with the addition of small cells, DAS, and mini macros and I appreciate all the time you have put in on your busy schedule to still carve out time to help us wireless enthusiasts discover LTE.

Looking forward to seeing future updates especially with the upcoming addition of B71 (600 MHz) and curious to see if there is a way to track LTE-U updates on Tmobile with the engineering screens.

Guess you didn't read where it says T-Mobile is hit and miss with the app.

  5. Well, if Sprint ends up like Verizon/Vodafone 2.0 with Charter/Comcast running Sprint, this leaves a huge opportunity for T-Mobile to go for Dish. If T-Mobile bought Dish, it would be great for both companies in having a minimum 15x15 of 600mhz spectrum nationwide, with 20x20 in a large amount of markets here.

If T-Mobile got Dish, the Chicago area would have 20x20, which is an undeniable advantage, especially for the price of the great promotions offered earlier this year, along with ending the indoor network drops T-Mobile still often has here in the Chicago suburbs.

In that case, I still wonder if AT&T may try for T-Mobile/Dish, especially for the power in combining the satellite tv industry the way Sirrus XM did for satellite radio. This would leave Sprint to the possible only practical option of Verizon later on for any real wireless merger possibilities later on.

T-Mobile can't afford Dish, where you get TMobile buying out a satellite broadcast company?

  6. Virgin Mobile USA just announced this: https://www.virginmobileusa.com/newsroom/newsdetail2.html

Virgin Mobile USA Changes How to Buy Wireless: One Year of Service for Only $1 + Virgin Perks

Definitely a solid rebrand/relaunch in my opinion. Pretty good perks!

    Also:

"Virgin Mobile worked with Apple to become the newest mobile carrier to sell its service in Apple stores and at Apple.com. It will also be the first-ever, iPhone-only mobile carrier in the United States."

"“We’re thrilled Virgin Mobile is becoming the first iPhone-only carrier, and we’re excited to be able to offer Virgin Mobile services directly to our customers in Apple stores,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing. “We think the Inner Circle offer is competitive and compelling, and Virgin Mobile customers are going to love using the best, most advanced iPhones ever.”"

    Wow. Didn't see that coming.

I don't think that is Sprint's Virgin Mobile, that is Branson himself unit.

  7. Actually, Verizon has 800 mhz, not 850 for which is public safety, with the 45mhz split for input channels, sprint has 860 mhz with the 45 mhz down split, and don't forget that at&t is also in that frequency range to. For which it isn't that much from 806mhz to 896mhz. Public safety is also in the 700 mhz band to, 770 to 780 mhz with a minus 45 mhz split. So all bandwidth some of you people coming up with just isn't there in that frequency range
