    HTC EVO 4G LTE

What are you basing this assumption off of? Sprint's order system sucks but the fulfillment center is very good. UPS takes care of it. http://pressroom.ups.com/Video/ci.UPS+Delivers+for+Sprint.Video
  2. I wouldn't put much weight into these messages. They are still accepting preorders for the EVO. Hopefully it ships today and we will get it tomorrow.
  3. 4.97% to be exact. You can view the SC 13G/A on edgar that was filed on 5/9 I hate SeakingAlpha. Nothing worth reading on that website.
  4. I thought this was interesting: For carriers, carrier aggregation technology holds potentially large benefits. By bonding non-contiguous spectrum into a single, wider channel, carriers can address the asymmetry of data flows between downlink and uplink channels. The data traffic that is growing the fastest is video, and it is asymmetrical traffic. As such, carrier aggregation helps operators efficiently manage these downlink flows.
  5. I agree - playing with some Verizon phones I was just swapping SIMS around and it was grand. Just a heads up - you can activate new phones at sprint.com/activate or from your sprint.com account. Beats having to call someone.
  6. I wonder if this will actually help improve sprint customer service? http://www.amdocs.com/News/Pages/sprint-deploys-amdocs-cms.aspx Sprint Deploys Amdocs Customer Management Solution to Enhance its Customer Experience and Streamline Call Center Operations Amdocs Smart Agent Desktop solution helps Sprint improve first-call resolution - while reducing average call handling time and agent training time ST. LOUIS - May 14, 2012 - Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems and services, today announced that Sprint, one of North America's leading wireless service providers, is deploying Amdocs' Smart Agent Desktop in order to enhance its customers' experience while giving its customer service representatives (CSRs) a more intuitive, time-saving customer management solution.
  7. Was this a confirmed site that was not live or a new site you found? Very excited to hear more!
  8. A carrier who has billions to throw around at marketing Toss a few billion at "The Carrier that has the FASTEST 4GLTE network" Toss a few billion at "The Carrier that has the LARGEST 4GLTE network" Toss a few billion at "The Carrier that has the FASTEST&LARGEST 4GLTE network" Pointless otherwise.
  9. Wait - so he is sent out to add capacity but doesn't actually add any capacity?
  10. Hrm, I am not sure why that would be. Interesting - I am not sure.
  11. When you are on extended, you are already on 1x (which is what txt msg goes over). It's faster because it doesn't have to switch from EVDO to 1x to send the text.
  12. Agreed - Sprint really needs to remember that the average Joe doesn't know what 4G is, if they get it, what it does, etc. They really need to step up their game and clearly communicate to customers what to expect. I think we've all heard one too many stories about a certain sprint store rep promising 4G coverage "any day" to get that commission on a new phone sale.
  13. Just got an email: Thanks again for pre-ordering the new HTC EVO™ 4G LTE from Sprint. This revolutionary smartphone is available to the public on Friday, May 18. So we'll do our absolute best to make sure you get yours first. Soon, you'll have unlimited access to all the things you love, only from Sprint. We're processing your order now so look for your shipping confirmation email informing you of the specific carrier used for delivery, as well as the tracking number on the day that your phone ships.
  14. I think sprint should save their $ ammo to bid on the nationwide PCS H block coming up for auction soon to complement their G block. In urban markets where they are spectrum constrained, use clearwire to offload.
  15. No, average user doesn't care. There is an inflection point down the road though. These dealings with spectrum will likely have large impacts to the average user in 2-5 years. If Dish decides not to sell to AT&T - where is AT&T going to get spectrum? When AT&T can't offer a competitive product against Verizon and Sprint (and T-Mobile) what are they going to do? Outspend everyone splitting cells and have huge operating costs (and lower margins)? So they end up complaining to the FCC because as a result of poor management and a failed merger... they are in a VERY bad position vs. other wireless companies (in terms of spectrum position). It will be interesting to see how this progresses over time. I think we will see people start to leave AT&T. Look at churn. Verizon has lower churn than AT&T. I am thinking that VZN will continue to have the lowest churn at sub-1%, Sprint should fall below 1.25% over the next few years, and AT&T should start to slowly tick up.
  16. That's what makes the article - the underlying truth. AT&T is so pathetic, major news publications find the comedy in their outlandish claims.
  17. This is typical engadget. The review is just about worthless. I'll wait for someone like anandtech to review it, which actually uses objective, repeatable review criteria so you can compare it to other phones on the market.
  18. Pretty comical article. WE GAVE YOU CUPCAKES! hahaha http://www.businessw...k-dials-the-fcc Be sure to click on all the links - good back stories. Remember when you came to Orlando last year, and you were all talking about spectrum crunch, and we were all “Omigod, we’ve been talking about spectrum crunch, too,” and you were all “I know,” and we were all “I know.” Do you remember that? hahahhahahaha I can't stop laughing
  19. That's actually a pretty complicated question. People have done a lot of reviews on different MicroSD cards. A lot of class 10 cards were designed for pure read/write speeds but smaller random read/write performance suffered. The Sandisk class 4 32gb microSD card is a safe bet, and at about 22-25 bucks, it's a very good deal. My next recommendation is the Samsung Class 10 32gb at about 35 bucks. You can also go 64GB - those will also work.
  20. I love info like this! It will be a game changer for sprint when they light LTE up @ 800MHz
  21. I always saw a natural fit between MetroPCS and Sprint. Sprint could easily just throw them under their prepaid arm and just have MetroPCS/Virgin Mobile/Boost Mobile brands. Sell the AWS spectrum to Cricket or AT&T. Only problem was the price. With Cricket signing a TD-LTE agreement with Clearwire, maybe we will see Cricket join forces with Sprint instead. Metro goes to T-Mobile, Cricket goes to Sprint. Cricket sells T-Mobile it's AWS spectrum. Either way, Sprint's prepaid arm is a machine. I can imagine Metro or Leap just fitting right into Sprint's well-oiled prepaid arm. I would rather see four strong national competitors vs. 2 strong and 3 weak. T-Mobile getting Metro, Sprint getting Cricket, T-Mobile getting Metro and Cricket's spectrum, Sprint profiting off selling Cricket's spectrum to T-Mobile, everyone wins.
  22. I ran into the same problem in Boston. I visited 5 network vision sites and the 3G speeds were so variable.
  23. The part where it gets interesting is - how do you guarantee a consistent user experience? You are on someones unknown femtocell and their broadband connection drops out and your call drops. Sprint is taking on that liability. I suppose if you are going from zero coverage to some sort of coverage - that's an improvement... but if you are trying to use femtocell as some sort of pico cell to offload traffic... it could create an inconsistent user experience. I wonder if the next gen femtocell will have self-diagonstics - testing speeds/latency/jitter. If it fails, the femtocell will blink red and not operate.
  24. I disagree. Apple has been standing steadfast at the 199 pricepoint I disagree. As far as I know the MSRP of 199, 299, 399 is contracted what the carriers will sell the iPhone at. 3rd party sellers, such as wal-mart seem to have leeway. Carriers, don't seem to.
  25. If I was a betting person, I would guess that LTE isn't "mature" enough to be deployed in femtocells @ a pricepoint that makes sense. What's really interesting is that Sprint is attempting to go beyond just adding coverage for home users, but adding coverage to the Sprint network.
