  1. There is nothing special about beats audio, its just an equalizer preset and thats it. From what I been reading though htc will be extending "boomsound" to headphone performance as well which they say will sound basically the same to beats audio.
  2. Yeah but the One came with 32gb so I am hoping that by some miracle that the one max comes in at no more than $600 for the 32gb version.
  3. LOL, cool. Me and a friend where actually planning on heading down that way today.
  4. I am more curious to know what the off contract pricing will be. While I am undecided at this point, my other half wants to get the One Max, she is digging the larger screen. I tried selling her on a note 3 but she can't stand how samsung devices look and feel.
  5. It means that if you were to use the sprint variant on another gsm network then it will support hspa+ up to 14.4mbps.
  6. How many android devices other than a nexus are officially running 4.3? The One has been updated to 4.3 before most others. The gs4 still hasn't been officially updated to 4.3 so its not like htc isn't doing anything at all. Sure, the evo lte has been late to the party but at least you're not on att who took forever to get jellybean to their One x. Also, when it comes to late updates it mostly has to do with carrier branded devices and not devices coming straight from the oem.
  7. While it may not be a must buy for me, I wouldn't necessarily say its a flop. Most people I know that owns a note 2/3 can count on one hand how many times they have used their s-pen and the rest simply don't use it at all. Also other than us enthusiasts, no one knows what an s600 or s800 is much less the difference between the two.
  8. I know you are trying to help but its reasons like this why devices are s-on in the first place. The purpose of supercid'ing a device is so that you can run any RUU on it but just about any other RUU available right now will be for a gsm variant and doing so on a sprint One will more than likely brick your device. Now if you wanted to flash an RUU made for a cdma carrier like boost mobile for example then that would be fine but flashing a gsm ruu on a cdma device will cause major problems. Now I am not a developer and I could be wrong and if I am please correct me.
  9. If you are currently on a 4.3 rom, this app will NOT work, but there is a work around. You can get it to work by deleting a specific apk(system/app/htcOmadm_spcs.apk) and installing the older version. More info can be found in the first thread I linked above.
  10. The root method of unlocking the sim is the exact same thing as the sprint's OTA method, you're just going in and doing it manually. It appears that a few things may have changed since the 4.3 update though. Here are two threads you can read up on. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45243199 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2243724 Actually I have gotten my One to work on tmobile just fine, I just had to go in and manually configure it to do so.
  11. Like I said way back in the very beginning of this thread, the VI portion of the upgrade will lag behind. I am not really upset because this is exactly what I expected.
  12. I used to have an additional line with tmobile a few years ago and it worked fine when it did but overall coverage was horrible. Tmobile's website now shows that the entire island is covered through a roaming agreement(I would assume with Innovative) but I don't know how accurate that is. A friend of mines just got here a couple of days ago who uses tmobile and said service was fine until he got to his moms house in smithbay where he had no signal most of the time.
  13. With my evo I never had any issues at all with 3g/1x connectivity, my only issues were 4g related. On the other hand while my gnex performed great with 4g, it was by far the worst 3g/1x performing device I have ever used........ever.
  14. I haven't had any issues with connecting to lte at all, my experience with the one is top notch and I would say that pound for pound its the best smartphone I have ever owned thus far. For comparison, I did also buy the gs4 on release day before I returned it a few days later. During the limited time I had with the gs4, it performed the same as the One did as far as staying connected to lte. I ended up returning the gs4 because of the constant UI lag, even with every single feature turned off it still wasn't as responsive as the One. Not sure if you are an htc loyalist or not but the nexus 5 should be announced in a few days, I would say wait to see what that will be about plus its triband. EDIT: This is my 2,000th post, woohooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I am sure you are, call them up and see. But yeah, it's quite annoying.
  16. Oh no doubt, samsung has came up with a lot of really cool ideas on paper over the last few years but they seem to want to pack every single idea into their phones not realizing that most people won't actually use most of these features. I just feel like they need to focus more on getting touchwiz polished up to where they don't need 3gb of ram to run their UI.
  17. The back side of my one is curved and it rocks in the same manner. An app developer can easily create something that does the same thing simply by detecting what the phone internal sensors are going. This isn't something you need a curved screen to accomplish. So in my opinion the feature is cool but not really that practical like most other touchwiz features.
  18. Yeah, been doing that all week. I wish someone from st croix could chime in and see if they been able to connect to lte on the eastern half of the island.
  19. Yep and how the hell does it only weigh 130 grams? Hell, the note 3 weighs around 168 grams, something definitely isn't right. Edit: LOL, definitely fake, the dimensions of the device is also considerably smaller than the note 3 as well.
  20. Well I guess we will find out when its officially announced.
