  1. I'm travelling today. Don't have access to them on the road. I'm still deciding whether to write an article on it. Probably will.

I think it will be a great idea to write an article on it.

  2. Its funny you should ask. Just got a doc yesterday that still says 6/10 launch. They are also having some issues in the lab. I'm not optimistic on an early release.

Issues in the lab? Is there any way you can elaborate on that?

  3. You may want to try a PRL modified with VZW as a higher priority than Cricket and see if that improves things. I roam on VZW a lot, and have no issues.

Hey Robert, do you have any further updates on the release date of the evolte? I am sure you read about the rumored release date of may 18th? What are your thoughts?

  4. That's pretty good. Wish my phones where that stable....lol I had at least 3 EVO 4G's replaced.....Had the Epic 4G replaced a couple of times too. Now, the Epic Touch has been replaced once. I guess i'm too hardcore on my phones....lol

Yeah, I been fortunate with phones recently. I did go through like 6 touch pros though, all with the same issues but I didn't have to use tep to replace them. So as I think about it now, the last time I used tep was to replace a htc mogul that I somehow damaged.

The $11 bucks is the only thing. Did you see the deductibles? $150 to $200 depending on msrp? Just pocket the $11 bucks a month in a savings account and fund your own replacement. Hold on to your old phone in case you need a spare.

    :twitch:

  5. Now that I think about it, I don't even know the last time I even used tep to replace a phone. I have 2 evo 3d's that I bought on release day that are still perfect, I also had two evo 4g's that were still perfect the day I sold them to get the evo 3d. Damn come to think of it the last time I used tep was for either the touch pro 1 or the mogul before that, thats was about 4 years ago.

  6. I can't afford 11/mo for insurance. That's a ridiculous price. Frankly, that would be unfair to do that to anyone but LTE phone users.

I don't know how many lines you have but when you look at accounts that have multiple lines that extra $3 adds up. In a way I can't blame sprint but again they are playing a dangerous game.

  7. Well I am not surprised, sprint is hurting for revenue right now and the one area they can't afford to raise prices on is their service plans which means that all the other little things are going to rise one way or another. In my opinion Sprint is playing a very dangerous game. Network vision had better be what they are claiming it to be or they will be in a lot of trouble.

  8. Reporting a profit is too much to hope for. Until they completely shut down nextel and complete the majority of their NV deployment I doubt they'll report a profit. I think continued subscriber growth and ARPU growth would be good signs. Along with lower subscriber churn.

Very interested to listen to earnings call and hear what they might have to say about LTE roaming with RCA partners.

You really have to look at more than just the bottom line, Sprint for example has a huge amount for depreciation expense. Depreciation is a non cash expense so if you back that out of the equation then they wouldn't be in the red at all, that's what makes the cash flow statement so important. I haven't taken the time to look into detail of their financial statements but if you look at their cash flow statements, even though they show a loss every quarter, they still show positive cash flows over the same period and a lot of it has to do with adding back in the non cash depreciation expense. Now that was my little positive spin on them but in reality though they are getting their asses kicked, and they are paying for it by getting into long term debt. I really hope this network vision buildout really brings customers in by the boat load, so they can start to reduce the amount of debt they have gotten themselves involved with trying to stay afloat.

  9. Zombie apocalypse? I better stock up on ammo...

That's what I tell my girlfriend all the time, LOL. Also the funny thing is when she took the pic that I am currently using for my profile pic, I was actually shooting at a zombie target at the gun range.

There are no such things as Zombies! Too many video games for you.

Hey, you never know but like I always say, "its better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it". So yeah, I got lots of ammo.

  10. I don't even know how sprint will perform being that nextel customers are dropping like flies. As far as total subscribers though I hope they have a net increase in postpaid customers. Personally I am more curious to see their quarterly financials more than anything else.

  11. lol, yes BB sales have declined lately. They have really good devices for business, and ppl who love quick push notifications. AT&T & T-Mobile have 4G blackberries, and they are pretty decent. Just curious about it, since Sprint never came out with a Wimax version of it, nor a Windows Phone either.

Well the att and tmobile versions are hspa+ and personally I don't consider that to be 4g even though you can get some pretty decent speeds out of it but not lte speeds. In either case though a lot of the advantages blackberry use to have for the business oriented customers are all but gone and its showing based on their performance.

  12. I don't know why but I LOL'd when I read your question. RIMM is in a lot of trouble right now and I don't think sprint or any other carrier will benefit much from a 4g blackberry device of any kind at the moment.
