I haven't been over there today because in on vacation this week but I saw it on the news.

When will Verizon Wireless do a network modernization project like Sprint and T-Mobile?

I doubt that Verizon will modernize their network since their goal is to get everyone on lte as fast as possible.

Oh would you happen to know about the one by Paul C Armstrong park or the one behind the tire kingdom if there any fast might also be by that area of Lakeside and Fleming and Middleburg.

no I used to work in that area about 8 months ago. The speeds are ok in the morning hours but a little slow in the afternoon. It may have received band aid fixes since the last time I visited that area. I'm on brannan field road, blanding Blvd (near county road 218), and the lake asbury area of green cove. Tuesday thru Saturday.

Do you know how fast the 3G is at the tower i might be staying close around that area in July some time and would like to know, Thanks

In the early morning hours its 2megs+ and in the afternoon to evening time its about 1meg. The speeds from that tower is about the best in that area.

 

You are not alone. I experienced very similar issues. I am so glad I don't have to deal with that anymore.

 

I also got random disconnects @ home as well. The up triangle would get "stuck" and 3G data would no longer work for 30 seconds to 1 minute and whatever webpage you were on would just hang. Has that happened to you?

 

In other locations, the 3G icon would disappear all together.

This same thing happens to me alot. Btw my phone is set to cdma only.

I believe that those evo customers that are coming off contract will be upgrading to the gs3. I was almost one of those customers I had the original evo the battery life was horrible. It got better with the 3d. Everyone I know doesn't want another HTC phone.even though I tell them the battery on the new evo is better they want the gs3. The gs3 is a great phone.

I'm pissed I had a feeling sprint going to do that when I pre ordered my black LTE but I couldn't wait.

I can't wait for Jacksonville to launch so I can get a taste of LTE on my evo. 3g haven't been too bad lately with the band aid fixes. I don't miss Wimax at all.

I wish that sprint would make their coverage map larger in size on their website.

Definitely a good thing get some positive press about their LTE network. I'm just so glad that sprint is headed in the right direction.

I was wondering just yesterday when was sprint going to put its LTE map online.

Maybe sprint is trying to get more funds for network vision.

Hi guys, I live in Brooklyn. I have the EVO lte. while I used to see an average of 800kb for 3g on my Samsung, Now I get 1.3-2 mbps . I'm not sure if its the EVO or the nv. In any case how come we barley see new Yorkers writing about sprint in New work?

Its not just new York people talk bad about sprint all the time. Yeah the other carriers may have more coverage in more places but I only need my phone to work in my city and cities I vacation in. I've tried other carriers but sprints price to performance works for me. Anyway with network vision your going to see a major improvement in speeds and signal strength

 

I haven't seen this setting. When I go into Apps and try to get rid of Play Books all I am able to do is uninstall updates.

I haven't tried to uninstall plays book or movies but if you uninstall the updates for a lot of the other apps and clear data. You will then get the option to disable the app completely and it won't show up in your app drawer.

 

I used to think that way until now stock andoid is starting to bloat up.

Annoying Pure google should let me uninstall it.

I know on the evo LTE you can go into the settings and disable all the bloat apps.

I'll bet the LTE iPhone will remain only a postpaid offering.

Well now that I think about it. It does make sense to sell the 4 and 4s on prepaid but only after the 5 is released. especially with cricket and other regional/prepaid carriers offering the phone soon.

me personally I don't think that sprint should offer the iPhone on prepaid. Sprint should only keep the for postpaid only where they are most profitable and can keep a locked in source of revenue for two years.

Do you think they are still subsidizing part of the prepaid iPhones? If not, then it wouldn't matter how many they sell. Won't hurt them at all. However, they may possibly be subsidizing some of part the prepaid iPhones. I don't know.

I believe they are subsidizing the prepaid iPhones because with sprint at full price the iPhone runs 500+. If sprint isn't subsidizing the phones for prepaid that would mean that sprint would make like $20 a phone for the 16GB model at $399 price point because Apple makes $380 per iPhone sold.

Does anyone know if regular GS3 cases gonna work with the sprint version, phone seems to be the same.

I have a feeling that the sprint version will be different because sprint is the only carrier out of five that is holding Press conference to release the phone.

I wonder if this device will be subject to Apples patent war customs hold.

Found a new tower in Jacksonville. I'm taking a trip up there today and I started to look at the towers near where I'm staying and found it. I'm not sure if anyone else has found it as I haven't read through this whole post but let me know if it helps. It is just NorthEast of the 295 & 95 highway intersections on the map:

 

I found another new tower a little west of there. It is on Branan-Field Road & Old Jenning Road intersect just north of where 23 & 21 meet. Also there might be more in Jacksonville if I found two in 5 minutes there:

 

I've been out to the site on brannan field road. Its a monopole with a flag on the top that was on the news recently around memorial day. It doesn't have any external panels that I can see but it is broadcasting 3g and its pretty fast. I haven't checked out the base station equipment yet but I'm in the area everyday because I work in that area.

No its stock but it worked on my stock 3d before I rooted it.

It does nothing it worked perfectly on my 3d but not on the LTE

 

I know it was 310 but don't remember the other part. Will have to check.

 

On another note, I am so happy that roam control works great on the EVO LTE. Time to do some prl playing.

Roam control doesn't work for me

That would be very interesting to see. It would take subs from other prepaid carriers but would also make sprint postpaid subs jump ship to prepaid also.
