  1. Q: Did you go to a corp store or reseller?

If you don't know, can you tell me where it is and I can find out.

From what I have been told this build has some significant issues.  And since it's not official, you're going to have to manually update to whatever is the official release using Odin.

yep a corporate store. It does have quite a few issues. The bad battery life is my main concern...dropped 25% in less than half an hour

  2. Hmm it uses a Snapdragon 801 processor, so it has support for TDD/FDD Lte, wouldnt be suprised if this device has support for at least band 25, and band 26. Band 41 and sprint support would make this puppy my next phone.

  3. Just to say the models they have are made from humans. Humans make mistake so what. If they did not shut down these things, and the storm was worse and people died, then they would still get crap. Here in Texas for example We can be scheduled for 2 inches of rain and it be 34 degrees outside. And the model think The temperatures will drop to below 32, but dont. So instead of a crippling Ice storm, we get all rain, or reverse. The forecast rely on going certain routes. If a storm is 50 miles west or east the impacts are worse or less in some areas. But I have learned Winter storms can be very difficult to predict, especially here in Texas where 1-2 degrees can be the difference between shut down the city, and cold rains.

  4. After they have LTE 800 and 1900 at a site and it is turned on and functioning as it should is the backhaul that is at that site sufficient for band 41? Or do they have to run all new backhaul to the site before they turn on the B41?

What would cause them to install the B41 antennas/rrus/equipment on a site with live LTE 800 and 1900 but not turn on the B41 equipment?

Someone has to provision the equipment basically. Test everything make sure it work. I asked a crew who were installing some, and they said a seperate crew comes in and fires it all up, and does testing.

  5. The ASL program should be retired.  Migrate those ASL subs with solid payment history to unrestricted postpaid, those ASL subs with blemished payment history to prepaid.  And any new subs that cannot pass the credit check for unrestricted postpaid should not be given an ASL option.  These days, those credit challenged subs should be on prepaid anyway.

    AJ

With that option most post paid bad credit customers may just move to Other carriers. That much of a loss would devastate sprint. Doing it your way could possibly be the end of sprint. If I had a contract, and was forced to prepaid just because I maybe late a few days every now and then, then I would be gone. The ASL fees would be ok but $7.99 plus a deposit for a line is still kinda high.
  6. Admins have said b26 is doesn't cover 100% current voice footprint. That's what I mean.

It may not get all the way out where 1x has dropped calls or terrible call quality duentoo lose signal levels. But those are areas where people would regularly drop calls anyways. Hopefully with Volte it will be able to jump on a roaming partner. But with no Volte right now no need to worry.
  7. Are you certain?  Because that doesn't make sense for them to charge more to borrow a phone than to buy it.  And why do you have a deposit required when it says no down payment?  Credit?  Something's definitely up if they're charging more than MSRP to lease a phone for only 2 years.

Yep all lines with a deposit requirement on new lines or easy pay have a deposit for leasing, otherwisr id lease thr note 4 in a heart beat.
  8. If you can buy the phone at the end for the remaining balance from the full price, it doesn't make any sense not to lease (compared to easy pay).  If the remaining balance at the end of 24 months is more than the phone is worth, decline to purchase it.  If the remaining balance is less than the phone is worth, purchase it and profit.  At worst, you're exactly where you would be with easy pay, except you got to keep part of the money until the end which you could potentially earn interest on or invest.

    Example: $600 dollar phone

    Easy Pay: $25/month -> after 24 months you've paid $600

Lease: $15/month -> after 24 months you've paid $360.  You have the option to buy the phone for $240 dollars

Unless I'm missing some benefit of easy pay, it would be stupid not to lease.

Unfortunately, Leasing for me requires the same deposit as easy pay. But the leasing monthly payments are more expensive than easy pay monthly payments. Obviously this isnt for everyones case, but for me easy pay is the best option, as any phone requires a deposit, and monthly payments are less than $15, and I get the option to get a new phone yearly. Works best for me.

  9. Well the boat hasn't sunk...yet.  Considering they are going to file for restructuring bankruptcy (Chapter 11) they can emerge as a more lean company, now if they were filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy "liquidation" well then they are past the stage of restructuring and it would be safe to say the boat has sank, this is not the case...yet.

Their filings are only small patches. I have never seen a busy radio shack. When number of employees out number customers, thats bad. There is reason they dumped target mobile.
  10. So when I owned a Nexus 5 I found a dialer menu on this site that would allow me to access an engineering menu by dialing *#*#3328f#*#* (DEBUG).

Within that menu there was the ability to prioritize the LTE bands that the phone would scan for.  Knowing that 41 is the Spark band, I want to prioritize my phone to scan for it first, 26 second and 25 last as I'm looking first for the speed of 41, next the coverage of 26 (I understand that at this point 26 is most widely deployed in my area) and finally 25 because I'm not quite sure why it's there.

The problem I am running into is that on the Nexus 6, this menu is not accessible by dialing that code.  I have googled for the last week or so trying to find the dialer code that would let me do this and as yet have been unsuccessful.  Does anyone know how to access this menu on this phone?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

Band scanning order does not mean you stick on band X. The network chooses which band you get put on.

  11. Sprint appears to be redoing the B41 Coverage map on a city by city basis.  Much more realistic than prior version.   Slight exaggeration remains in a few local spots, but this is far far outweighed by B41 that is not shown.  http://coverage.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp?INTNAV=SJS:HE:Cov

It also looks like LTE coverage shades have been fixed in areas as well! Tyler no longer has those extra spots southwest near palestine. I noticed it last night, but the b41 differences were not there yet.

  12. Well I'm fast approaching the 1 year anniversary of my ownership of the Tab 3.

Overall, it's still a great tablet. Since it is a business only tablet, it works well for me. However though, it seems with the apps I have on it Clean Master is always reminding me to boost the memory. If I keep up with cleaning the cache every now and then, it's been a great tool for me and has definitely paid for itself already.

When my 2 year contract is up though, I will probably cancel the line and run it on WiFi on my Karma hotspot next year or just keep it on the 100 MB plan.

I've also noticed that Sprint now only has 8GB versions of the Tab 3 instead of what most received like mine, the 16GB.

I upgraded to a an ipad mini 2 32gb awhile back, and they allowed my to cancel my tab 3 line awhilr back actually for free. Also was able to cancel a hotspot line i had. Got a deposit back That I never paid, so i got a cheap bill.
