  1. And how many of that 63k are current or former Sprint customers and how many are relying on what they heard at the water cooler four years ago.

Exactly. Now a double blind study would be one of the only true ways to test it. But its pointless. What works for one may not work for another. Same for areas, what works in one doesnt work in another.
  2. Stats 101....63k is a hell of a sample size.

and I could survey 10000 people wearing cowboys jerseys who their favorige NFL team was...the number means nothing, until you know how the 63k were represented. Ti be even a fair survey theyd have to take into markets, subdivide into sex, mae an equal percentage ratio of each market racial make up, income make uo, and a whole list of others. Surveys are not very general in this fact, no matter if its 63k surveyed.
  3. Well then there is this....

@BGR: Consumer Reports: Sprint is still America's worst carrier and it's not even close http://t.co/WcRgQc6mf3 by @bwreedbgr

I guess they think that providing survey results will somehow make sprint disappear. They act like they would gain something from this. Also how long did it take to get 63k surveys out, how many were just troll survey result, we all know not everyone who takes a survey is truthful. Also surveys have the weakness of being able to be skewed. What if those 63k were only from one carrier, or from a single geographic area.

  4. Hey Jeremy can you do me a favor when you get yours working.  Can you test out if Sprint "unlocked" download booster???  That feature has intrigued me since the S5 was released and the booster was not there on Sprint...  Thanks.

I don't see it on stock 4.4.4 . I am waiting to root until towel root works for 4.4.4. So idk when I'd be able to test a mod.

  5. I dont suppose there is a way to untrip knox?  lol.

well mine worked fine. Idk what could be your issue, have you used any mods? You might take it in to a sprint store, and see what they say, given they can't find any proof of root or mods, you may get a new one.
  6. In Feb 2015, a law will come into effect regarding the locking policy of all cell phones. Meaning, you'll be able to activate your phone on domestic carriers, even if it is Sprint branded.

Now, how will Sprint work with this? Will they allow anyone to bring devices compatible with CDMA onto Sprint? Will manufacturers start doing what Google's been doing by making one model for all carriers? I'm curious as to how this will all work and come together. If sprints models support all LTE bands of its competitors then resale value of them would greatly increase and possible cost less to mass produce due to only needing one model.

they can make the phone unlocked, with it accepting a sim,but isn't there away to completely disable the unused bands? Or disable the high speed HSPA capabilities?
  7. Hey guys so I have a GS5 and it was rooted under 4.4.2, well I have tried going back to factory in all ways I can think of, but even in factory 4.4.2 I am still getting the Software update message of The operating system has been modified in an unauthorized way.

Any way of fixing this so i can get the 4.4.4 update?

Did you use towelroot? Or twrp root?
  8. I completely agree, I was talking to a friend about this. iPhones are literally some of the best devices out there. It's the lack of customization on the OS that makes it a problem. I kinda wish someone would invent a way to dual boot Apple's phones for it run iOS and Android lol.

apples hardware running android would be a poor performance. I thought someone basically loaded android onto their IPhone 5 or something and it was a bad performance, on par with those cheap prepaid devices. Now imagine how long a device like the nexus or galaxy note 4 with IOS. It would be a smooth performance as it'd be future proof with its ram, and processor, but all in a dream.

  9. Lol nope we have field check is basically the same thing last time I checked lol.

Nope not good enough. Much quicker on android with features like alerts, site logging, site notes, notification bar signal add on, easily can tell what band of LTE you are on quickly....oh and neighboring LTE cells. Plus tablets can use this app unlike the lack of a dialer code access for ipad.

  10. I don't get the thought process behind the quest to make these devices thinner and thinner, and this goes for pretty much every manufacturer. I would much rather have a slightly thicker/heavier phone/tablet if it allowed a larger battery and better durability.

Its all a spec war. If apple didnt change a spec it would look to similar to the past. I do wish theyd keep the same thicknes and get better battery life in todsys devices. Most put a case on their device, so thickness isnt really a concern.
  11. It all depended on Apple to include WiMAX onto iPhone. But network improvements are guaranteed to have started a few years sooner. But at the time of iPhone in 2007, Sprint wasn't in a financial position for such a thing with the Nextel and Affiliate purchases. And technically, Sprint wasn't a true "nationwide" carrier until the affiliate purchases were completed. I think Sprint would have gone bankrupt from such an investment in 2007.

So given your thinking of sprint going bankrupt, and the lack of nationwide coverage, it wouldve doomed both the Iphone, and Sprint
  12. I've never had good luck with any rep ever calling me back on either Sprint or Verizon. I hope the last guy I talked to does call though. He seemed to really want to help, unlike the woman I talked to a couple weeks ago.

I had a replacement s4 through advanced exchange, and it wouldnt activate.  Ended up the hem sending me a new one. If you show them it was previously on your account the ey maybe aable to send a new one

  13. I dont think sprint will fail. The wireless industry cant take just 3 competitors, according to the FCC. So if sprint did fail, how do you think the spectrum would get divided? If it ks a pay for spectrum thing Tmobile gets left out, and then screwed. Customer wise it would be a huge chunk headed for the Top 2 , a lot less of a percentage to Tmobile. Would be a bad scenario for Tmobile in the end.
