  1. Yeah I just got the s7, and didn't even look to see if it was root-able because I have rooted all of my phones previously. Gotta love when the US version has a locked bootloader, and Samsung hasn't given a way to unlock it for dev's, and users.

  2. Does AT&T have the newer 2300 band there, at least? It seems quite a major loss not to have the AWS spectrum there though.

I'm pretty sure sprint had/has half of the was In East texas. But they sold it to AT&T I thought. Not showing up as all ATT'so on the face spectrum dashboard though. But they have those 3 different bands of lte active.
  3. AT&T has a lot of 10x10 spectrum frequencies here in the Chicago area, but one of them just recently went to 15x15. I can't remember if it was AWS or PCS though.

No AWS for AT&T here. There is a 10x10 block held by Atlantic wireless though. The other held by AT&T was sold to Tmobile years ago IIRC

  4. They're deploying 5x5MHz band 2 in a ton of markets right now. I see a new post about it almost every day.

They already have Band 2, a 5x5 carrier in the GMO sites here in eastern texas, south of tyler. Band 12 is active around I 20 east of dallas, and band 4 is at 15x15mhz. Compared to verizon with a 10x10 700mhz, and 15x15 band 4. Att is killing is with a 10x10 in Band 2, band 12, and at least a single  5x5 block in band 5. And I want to say band 30 is here, or almost here. Sprint is running 2 5x5 band 25, and a single 5x5 b26 carrier.

  5. Has anyone noticed in the ##3282# menu under edit, and LTE it has LTE roaming option? As well as CA settings. I am aware the CA are probably on all 6.0.1 samsung models, but will not affect this at all. But the LTE roaming one maybe a bit interesting to see if it has any use on the s5.

  6. Anyone try to root yet? If so, anyone have a quick guide on how? I can't a guide anywhere.

This maybe what you are looking for. Sorry I do not frequent here as much as I used to but I hope this helped.

Edit: Just rooted mine in a few minutes time just by following those steps, Flash TWRP in Odin, right after I went straight into recovery to avoid Stock Recovery being reinstalled. Then installed SuperSU, rebooted, then Xposed. Do note once I installed Xposed it took a little longer to boot, had to go through the whole "optimizing apps" screen

  7. The bug where 1X and LTE appear at the same time occasionally (usually after changing between the two) and LTE information doesn't fully populate.  My Verizon phone on 5.1 gets it now and then.

    - Trip

I can't say Ive had an issue before with that, But I can not say Ive ran into the issue on 6.0.1 yet either

  8. OK, so after the update there are a couple of things that are bothering me.

    1. After every startup, I keep getting that annoying SD Card Media Transfer notification. Not really annoying now, but I can tell it will get old quick.

    2. I've spent most of my day in non-Sprint areas this morning. Ever since the last update, I have yet to establish a data session with Verizon (which is another ordeal). So naturally, this morning I try to play with the roaming settings over and over again to see if I can connect (I coudn't  :(). To my surprise, Wi-Fi kept turning itself on over and over again while roaming. It is extremely annoying as our WiFi network is only for networking and has no internet. Also, everytime Wifi turned itself on, it reset my data roaming guard to ON over and over. Roaming on Marshmallow is a freakish nightmare  :td: . This may be a Connection Optimizer feature, but unfortunately I cannot find the settings to that anymore. It used to be under Network Settings, but its not there anymore. If anyone can find it, please let me know!

    3. The Sprint Logo on boot up is annoying. Too much bright white. Also the Sprint/Roam notification is a bit weird, but at least that goes away with any notification (Thank God for SCP)

    Now for the good things...

    1. My web browsers are no longer crashing! :D. Memory Leak BE GONE!!!

    2. Phone was extremely slow at first, but now that it had most of the night to settle it is as smooth as it was under Kit Kat. Of course, Touchwiz will probably never work flawlessly on this phone, but at least its working better than it used to under Lollipop.

    3. Some apps (mostly Airbnb and Kayak) used to take an eternity to start up. But now, they seem to work a lot better. Still slow, but a lot more tolerable.

Things I have yet to test.

    1. Bluetooth connectivity. Every update causes my Bluetooth to go haywire and I have to reestablish all of my connections with my headphones and vehicles. We'll see...

    2. Battery Life. I haven't had a chance to compare battery life, but as of right now the Android System is eating up more battery than my Screen. This is probably due to all the rebooting I have done to the phone, but it is still something I will keep my eye on for the next couple of days.

    3. Signal. This is one thing Samsung is famous for. Devices that are nearing end of life are usually thrown that last update that will trash rf performance. It happened to my S2 and it happened to my S5. I will keep a tab on that as well.

No issues with the roaming. Immediately connected to verizon roaming, and I feel like I am getting LTE alot more frequently out in the fringe areas.

  9. I found this article amusing: http://money.cnn.com/2015/09/08/technology/verizon-5g/index.htmlThey start by saying that Verizon was the first to deploy a 4G network (maybe the first US carrier to deploy an LTE network, but Sprint beat them with WiMax by a couple of years and Korea had it a couple years before that), gush about how great Verizon's new network will be, and then go on to admit that they don't have a clue what 5G actually means.

I thought metropcs was the first with an LTE network?
  10. Posted there as "jlmc78"

Do side by side comparisons of routers software traffic meters to ATT's traffic meter. As well as I though Xbox one ( if you have it) detailed your monthly usage if that's your inly device using thr 2nd line. Also swapping the routers to the different DSL line would be a quick way to tell if a router is the issue or if its a mistake on their end. One test I did on ATT wireless was my Mom got overages when here phone wasnt even on , so turning Line 1 Modem off for a day or two and see if it reports data on those days. Easy test there
  11. I dunno as IANAL, but I'd tend to think that you absolutely don't want to take things to that level unless something UNquestionably heinous has been said or done. It could be a PR disaster if litigation were initiated over something that appears frivolous and done seemingly because feelings were hurt. It'd just be more ammo for the already biased tech media.

Yeah I could see it being negative, but at what point is losing business over false accusations and such worth taking a risk for it. It would get Legere to shut up, and a court order would get legere to shut up long enough for others to realize the koolaid they drank is tainted lol

  12. I have been debating this for weeks but I just can't get on board with that G4.  Played with one in a store and wasn't wowed.  I'm holding out for the next Nexus announcement as well.  The Nexus phones, despite often not being the best hardware, have a system for identifying bugs and issues that is actually reviewed by Google and they give status updates.  So not only do they get the fastest updates (usually), but they also have user interaction and transparency.  Whereas in our situation we have to hope that Samsung fixes stuff but it's nearly impossible to submit any bug reports to them.

I might take a sealed batteries and inferior camera setups in exchange for that.

Might keep an eye out for the new Motorola phone found in the FCC database. Quite large, but has b41 CA
  13. So far mine seems a little snappier, but really the performance is not at all different yet. It did seem to sleep on my charger better, but it did that after the last update. I'm sure that nothing was actually worked on. I'm seriously not buying a Samsung ever again, I've had it.

Yeah I am seriously debating an LG G4 for my next phone. The g2 I had was really nice. The nexus 2015 may also be a choice if it has b41 CA, and is cheaper than the nexus 6.
  14. OK, I've about had it. It just happened twice in the last hour. First time, toggling WiFi calling didn't work, 30 seconds passed by and my phone automatically dropped to 1x and back by itseld and messages came in again. I called Sprint and they opened a ticket for a technician to check the network out since everything seemed OK from their side.

15 minutes later, I check it and phone calls aren't ringing again! I toggle WiFi again and 3 seconds later 3 messages pour in and its working again.

I'm about done fighting this. I'm absolutely out of options. I'll try ##786#, hopefully this fixes the issue. One thing that does make me believe it is a network issue is that I just saw 2 guys working on a site 2.5 miles away from me earlier today adding B41 panels. Maybe that's jacking up the network. I'm really thinking of just living with this issue. At least voicemail seems unaffected.

Did you try the suggestion I said? Would be worth a try. I know with WiFi calling on, and it worming, then stops working I have to turn it off before I get calls and text, might be something similar in your case.
  15. hmm....yeah, maybe you're right.  Curious case indeed.  Still to me sounds like a tower issue, but I really don't know.

Yeah, he could try removing wifi calling from his services, and have it added again might fix it.
  16. So that says it's a network problem and not your phone. WiFi calling takes you off Sprint's network, so everything should work. Very handy when towers go down in my area. Anyways, this has to be isolated to your area or tower and a combination of potentially your device.

sent from an underwater dust storm from my Sprint S5

But his phone wasnt on wifi if I read that right. Just toggled wifi calling in, but not connected to a wifi network. I find sometimes with wifi calling on, and it connected to sprints network, text and calls do not work. Turning off wifi calling sometimes fixes it.
  17. Is this the big news sprint tweeted about you think. If so it is a snooze fest.

Um I was under the impression it would ha e the #allin tag, as well as it would be released on the 30th, which is tomorrow, so no it isn't by my books.

  18. I finally got up the nerve to at least look at that.  I am not sure how smart I was, but the only change that have made with that ability is to change the band priority from 25/26/41  to 41/26/25.  That was easier than it should be.  As yet, I am not convinced that it did any good

After doing so, I powered down the m9 (turned it totally off) waited a moment or two and powered it back up. I achieved my goal of making the phone ask for the MSL before anything can be done further than look.

Before powering down, it was NOT necessary to reenter the MSL to do anything else...Scarry thought to me.   :ninja:

Basically all you did was change the Scan priority. It will search for B41 first, then B26, then b25. The network decides which Person gets which band basically.

  19. Yeah everything on this site, the SCP bsl address, the SID point to it being just outside of Kansas City. Trip's atmospheric theory is gaining some hold right now.

Yep exactly. Sprint could easily expand into the area with the NGN project. one 1x800 channel, 1 1x1900 channel, and an EVDO channel, plus LTE 1900/800 would get them customers sick of high verizon/ATT bills. And Tmobile doesnt exist out here, so they could get more subs
