  1. So, how many of you are going to find some way to get the GS6?  And which one, the regular or the Edge?

I have a way to get the s6/s6 edge just will wait on RF performance reports from users first. The FCC testing isnt looking good though. But it maybe one of those that pull a 180, and perform amazing, but the s6 edge is really catching my eye, but for reality the s6 due to me most likely killing the s6 edge edges.

  2. No RDFs have appeared yet, indicating they're testing builds. Doesn't mean they aren't working on it though. They abandoned the RDF system for the Note 4, so maybe ours too now. Samsung has to be working on it, forums for all variants are full of complaints.

Sidebar, who's interested in that S6? I wasn't because of the sealed battery and no IP67, but that LoopPay integration and camera look like worthy upgrades? I was drooling at the 0.7 sec opening time and always on stand-by. Plus the FFC real-time HDR? Pretty sweet. I bet they could hook up the S5 with some of that goodness. I'd take the hit to battery life for the stand-by camera.

Despite all the efficiency gains on the processor, screen, and memory, I sure would have liked to see a phone that was 8mm thick, rather than 6, with a sealed 3500mAh battery. 2600mAh seems skimpy, I can't trust Android and Samsung on that one yet!

sent from an underwater dust storm from my Sprint S5

I like the overal look, but i cant believe they didnt include a microsd card slot...That really puts me on edge even with base models being 32GB. The M9 looks nice too.
  3. Huh? T-Mobile's ETF deal simply requires you to trade in a phone and then buy a phone from them. They don't care what you give to them as long as the screen isn't cracked/broken and the thing powers on. I traded the old blackberry in because it was during the time that T-Mobile and RIM were having their tiff and T-Mobile was offering $200 for any blackberry that got turned in. I fail to see how anything that I did could even remotely be considered fraud. So by all means, please fill me in on the details because I am obviously missing something.

Because they are buying out a service contract, a contract yoy signed when buying x phone. What keeps people with a T-Mobile line from adding a line for free by creating sprint line, and going to T-Mobile and etfing it, they swap phone and now have a phone for free they can use. Kinda hitting the fraud area.
  4. Nope, you can turn in any old working phone and you can buy the cheapest flip phone that T-Mobile sells to get the ETF offer. I traded in a 3 year old blackberry, at the time I was using an S4 with Sprint, when I switched one of my lines last year and bought a $50 phone that I then sold to someone on CL for $30.

Switching phones to bypass that can be considered fraud in some states. That is theft by deception.
  5. All my phones are working so i won't have any problems turning them in so they can pay for the ETF.

Cost of new phone... I'm supposed to be getting new phones anyway. what's the difference if the cost is already baked into the existing Sprint subsidy plan? just now breaking it out into the monthly phone installment plan w/ cheaper service plan instead.

You can sell your current phones when doing a new contract or starting a new easy pay installment. Can be several hundred dollars per device.
  6. Nothing, so what is to keep me at sprint? I will even have the options get unlocked phones like one plus one at a good discount which sprint will never get. Tmobile will pay my etf, so I don't even need to wait till my contacts are up

You are then going to have to turn in your current phone, if broke they probably wouldn't buy out your contract. Then you are stuck with an ETF, a new phone bill, cost of phone. Is a few months that big of a deal given new Devi es will be out by then?
  7. In T-Mobile's 10-K filing, the company stated it made $247 million in net profit for the full year, with $101 million of that in the fourth quarter. Excluding MetroPCS decommissioning costs ($299 million), it would have had $546 million in net profit. Also of note, churn for the full year is 1.58% for postpaid, and 4.76% for prepaid. Postpaid ABPU was $60.73. Prepaid ARPU was $37.10. It added 8.3 million subscribers across 2014, 2.1 million of which were in the fourth quarter.

MetroPCS networks in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Sacramento were fully decommissioned in the fourth quarter of 2014. So far in 2015, the MetroPCS networks have been fully decommissioned in Atlanta and Detroit metro area. The remainder of the markets (South California, Florida, New York, and the rest of Michigan) will be decommissioned in 2015.

As of the end of 2014, T-Mobile's LTE network covered 265 million POPs, according to the filing. It also released a revised coverage map showing the coverage as of December 31, 2014:

    VcJ3ofM.jpg

That's weird, it doesn't show East Texas/Tyler under LTE any more on that map you posted.
  8. That would give house sized coverage zones with that spectrum if it is anything like Wifi. If Verizon and Tmobile start this, what keeps a troll from using the same spectrum just to cause issues? it honestly is sort of a last ditch effert for them to try and maintain their "speed king" title

  9. Why do people think pcs propagation is that much better?

Uplink is close to 1.9ggz while AWS uplink is 1700mhz. Is it that big a difference?

From the carrier ive seem ue both yeah 1900 has a better distance, but it could be setups and such. Im just basing both on aws hspa+ vs pcs hspa+.
  10. So then that probably means that they are showing the propagation of a full build site and not that of the GMO. Thanks!

No i was saying the opposite. I was saying from my experiences, Full vuilds only cover the darkest two shades, so I would expect a small amount less or About the same For GMO. But that is given on AWS LTE, Not PCS, which Being a GMO will prolly cancel out much of the difference.
  11. Has anyone had a chance to test the signal strength on gmo 1900 lte?

What I mean is: outside, do you get lte on all 4 pink shades?

I have yet to see LTE in the lightest two shades of LTE, I only ever see Tmobile LTE in the two darkest shades. So doubtful a GMO could do more.

  12. RadioShack can't fix Sprint's problems or anyone elses. They are bankrupt. It didn't matter if it was RadioShack or Hallmark Greeting cards. This has nothing to do with the dying brand of the bankrupt company. This has to do with instant access to a large geographic real estate holding. It could have been Krispy Kreme.

Sprint will now be able to expand to 1,750 new locations in a very short time. What a way to get your brand out there and get closer to your customers.

Do you know how many times I have heard it said 'well, I would have checked out Sprint but there are no stores anywhere near me. I know where the Verizon store is. It's next to my favorite mall or coffee kiosk.'

Good move Sprint. And keep pissing off the Haters.

Sprint owned a few crispy cremes back a year and a half ago in NOLA :P
  13. I don't like the colors of lollipop. Seems like it's made for a teen age girl. The battery life is awful, just when I thought my S5 couldn't have a worse battery life...

Guess ill be using the M8 as a daily user now until the M9 and S6 are announced

Really? My battery life increased quite a bit. Will be able to tell more by the end of tonight. But so far better battery life, the first days battery life isnt very good after the update for me, but it stabilized

  14. My question is this: How do you plan on handling future updates since you're getting an unofficial version? For most users savvy enough to flash in Odin or a custom ZIP, that's easy; most customers don't want (or know) how to deal with that though.

It's honestly surprising Sprint hasn't pulled it off their internal servers or locked down access.  Perhaps they're not too concerned about this release getting out, though they will if people can't update to the correct release.

It wont be too hard go odin flash the new.update. I wanted to see about trying out the new update Without having to basically void warranty. And once the update comes out sprint will have it and i can take it there if I wanted too.
  15. Facebook isnt working on android 5 :( wont open at all. Sent a report away. Sugnal check pro works awesome, screen is now smooth, runs like a 3d imax movie. Id suggest anyone wanting to, to go to a sprint corporate store and ask for a reflssh to test out lollipop
