OK... That doesn't really answer my question. So the Evo 3D was updated to a SMR enabled PRL, and the E4GT wasn't. That's nice. Should I be inferring something from that statement?

A quick google search comes back kinda meh'ish at best. I'm curious, can someone load the PRL and test? Is there anywhere to test?

Thoughts on this?

Raises an interesting question...does anyone have a history of the other carriers and how they built out their networks?
I think it would make for an interesting conversation.

With Network Vision, LTE will be available everywhere we have native 3G coverage, but that will be by end of the project, circa 2014. I would buy a new device regardless, because even with 3G coverage, it will be fine. I have used the EVO LTE, and fell in love with it.

I went up to the roof of my building to take a look at a microwave relay we had run, and almost peed my pants. Imagine being on the roof of a 55 story building, with wind whipping around you, air feeling different, and the view of NYC all around you, with no safety fence or anything.

This panel is supposedly from the next gen iPod touch which is why there is no earpiece hole.
I hope they make the screen wider as well. It would look stupid if it was only longer.
Here's a great write-up on the screen size and resolution: http://gizmodo.com/5912327/why-the-next-iphone-wont-be-169

I'm currently trying to decide whether to get the 4G LTE or wait and see what iPhone comes out with a larger screen and lte....
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I saw a supposed leak picture of the new iPod Touch screen and it looks like a 4" screen. If the new iPhone has the same size screen, with LTE, perhaps it may be worth it
Otherwise EVO LTE it is!

LOL...alright alright...back to topic.
Hurry up to the biggest and best city in the US please

I have a question in regards to spectrum holdings. I know Clear has access to all that BRS / EBS spectrum, but isn't it spread over the entire frequency range, and not in blocks? That wouldn't help Sprint in short-term in adding capacity right?

Mine is pretty simple
Epic Touch running FE10 (Leaked ICS build)

I want to use this testing PRL, but first can anyone confirm that the Samsung Epic 4G Touch works with ESMR (BC 10)?
I know the hardware is capable and the FCC tested BC 10, but I suspect it's not actually enabled in the software baseband. Especially because the stock PRL is of the 60xxx variety instead of the 21xxx type.

I believe the EVO 3D had a stock PRL 60xxx as well. I just went back to my 3VO to test the leaked ICS rom and it downloaded a 21xxx PRL when updated.

Sprint is in a much better capacity position because of that. Sprint also has additional 1900 channels to expand into with demand as well. I don't know how much unused 700 spectrum VZW and AT&T have to burn beyond the 10x10 (and 5x5 sometimes for ATT) channels they are currently using.
As far as I know, Verizon has 24mhz in the 700mhz range, and they have deployed a 10x10, so basically they are tapped out.

I'm not going to lie, snot flew out of my nose at 1:02.
You'd be surprised what iDEN customers have complained about in terms of their devices.

I've never seen speeds like that on 3G, where did you run that speed test?
*edit*
You literally are connected to a tower within visual distance. I wish I had speeds like that here.
-
Nothing has been officially announced yet, but I'm hoping by years end...I want to get the EVO LTE as well.

Thats the thing though, you never really notice that sort of thing until you see something else with an even higher resolution.
I agree, just swapped my Epic Touch for the EVO 3D (I have both, just testing an ICS ROM for the 3VO), and I miss that higher res screen.

I'm curious...I know Sprint has committed to keeping the EVDO network up for a long while, so I can't see Verizon wanting to shutter their entire EVDO network, maybe reduce the amount of spectrum dedicated to it, but not shut it down completely.
-
I noticed the disclaimer in your signature. Do you work for Sprint?
Yep, I do what's up?
-
How's your 3G coverage? It should be similar.
-
Now I can see that as being awesome. Now all we need is seamless handoffs between the frequencies
What I foresee is being able to use a Clear site with tons of capacity and backhaul when I'm out and about in NYC, and have it switch over to Sprint 1900/800 when I go inbuilding. I could finally watch Netflix while on the bus home, or stream high b/w Pandora!
-
First I'm hearing of EVDO Advanced....hmmm...
-
Did you have to do anything specific to your phone to see the LTE tower?
And those speeds are insane, can't wait till it is live in NYC.
-
Interesting, usually Extended means you're roaming (I think, don't have an iPhone myself).
I've never heard of that, normally roaming is slower.

I want one
Have to wait for employee availability.
