You guys got me wanting to take pictures of my local tower, which is sitting on the top of a two story house a block from my house.
It's a co-located Clear and Sprint site, so I get decent 3G and 4G in my house.

Picture from the event...I'm the guy in the box...lol

Does this mean its reception will be less than the original EVO 4G? As is I only get 1-2 bars at home.. Less would be a killer for me
I don't believe so, but I would inquire with customer service on getting an Airvana (femtocell). They might offer one to you if your coverage is poor.

Sprint already has lte? not where I live in NJ.

Yeah nothing here yet...

Glad to know it's a solid device. And you are lucky you got to play with it at the HTC/Sprint event.
Yep, and a lot of good feedback from the crowds. Everyone who used it liked it.

NIce, lucky you bud!
I almost cried when I had to give it back

Maybe part of my reasoning is that I only use about 200 minutes per month. That isn't a whole lot of time to feel deprived of the internet. I'm sure I would get used to it if I had it and then miss it if it was gone.
LOL...good point. Though I carry 2 phones daily, so I get "sim voice/data", just with 2 phones
-
I saw you take that picture at the event!
I was there supporting the event (one of the free roaming guys with a phone in hand), and had a blast.

I can't say that I have ever felt the need to use both voice and data at the same time.

Me neither, but I ported my girlfriend's family over from T-mobile and AT&T to Sprint (all iPhones now), and the one comment they all made was that they got used to sim-voice/data.

I got a chance to use this phone (was part of the Sprint announcement event), and I can safely say that this will be my next phone. I know there will always be better, etc. but it is solid, just works, with a great camera and screen.

I'm running the latest FD10 build, and it seems to be smooth, no issues so far with battery life.
My biggest concern was the lag I found when texting while using FD05, and it looks like there is some improvement.

So how would one go about donating to become a sponser?

Thanks!
In my browsing this board, I've seen a few folks from other forums that I recognized, glad to see them here.

Thanks for the link to that site...good read, and the comments solidifed my thoughts on the majority of the user base for Boost iDEN

Figured I'd drop into the welcome section and say hello....
My name is Deval, and I'm a phone-o-holic.
Thank you, glad to get that off my chest.
Some background and such, I work for Sprint, have done so for the better part of 8 years now.
Along the way, I've been a part of a ton of webboards dedicated to Sprint and wireless as a whole (Sprintusers, HoFo, etc.).
In the short time I've been on here, I've learned a lot, and actually filled some gaps in my own knowledge of wireless networks, etc.

No thank you.
Lol...thank you
Trust me when I tell you, not having cell coverage is a godsend.
-
Trust me when I tell you, it would be chaos. Take the 4, 5, 6 train going uptown after 7pm, and imagine it full of people talking on the phone.
-
Lastly, how often does sprint actually have their own fiber reach a base station?
I'm assuming where ever Sprint can provide local loop access, they can do that.
-
Wish they did that in NYC subway.
Really? I like the fact that I don't get service underground...makes life much more quieter. Can you imagine the hoodrats on the phone on every stop?
-
My thought process has been that Sprint is actively touching each tower, essencially "rebuilding" or upgrading each one. While AT&T and Verizon are rolling trucks to add panels and equipment to existing sites, not changing out the base stations or such.

I am afraid that the PCS G block enabled testing PRL is a non starter. In looking over FCC OET filings, I have not found a single Sprint branded handset that has been certified beyond the traditional PCS A-F block range. Maybe some do exist, but I have not found them. So, I surmise that only specially certified or waivered testing devices will be able access CDMA1X/EV-DO Network Vision trials in the PCS G block.

I was under the impression that the G Block was dedicated to LTE only, not 1x/DO
My tower....

Where I live in Jersey, a lot of the sites are build on existing buildings. Same goes for NYC.
