Yet the stock price dipped a bit
I hate link-click baiters, and that article is a perfect example.

This quote from the Sprint Community site is classic
Good luck going to a store and demanding they give you a product that they don't have. Also, maybe I'm missing something but I don't remember seeing any documentation from Sprint that promises they will deliver any device by or before a specific date.
This is why I'm so glad I don't work in retail anymore. I'm only going to take so much slick talk before we will have to resolve our differences in a much more personal and physical manner. If you can't handle the possibility of a delay then you shouldn't be pre-ordering. Hold on to your money and get it on launch day. Any cool points you get for being the first on your block with the phone expire once everyone gets access to it anyway.
That's pretty much what other websites have become as well. People will find any excuse to blame Sprint

And this is why I don't mess with the policies of Sprint (see signature )

At the end of the day, having a 3rd party use/test the network officially makes for some press, which Sprint needs. When looking at the speeds that posters on this board have gotten, I'm impressed.
The latest results of speed tests for all the carriers came out, and Sprint was painfully behind I'm really hoping this, along with NV, will improve that.

I don't mean spectrum swaps between areas. I mean spectrum swaps within areas to get Sprint's holdings adjacent to their PCS G block and avoid guard bands and separate pre-amps and filters on the handsets.
But what would they swap? and with who?
-
But that's a good thing, letting some 3rd parties try. Hopefully we'll see a launch soon.

I haven't loaded the corp roaming prl yet. This is a stock prl and is left over 3g roaming for when Sprint didn't have evdo in that area. Old Alltel Sid and subnet that is still active. Worked great.

Ohh alright, lucky man, here everything is Verizon 1x

I think I'm holding off on anything until I see the new iPhone. I'm now eligible for an upgrade but want to weigh all the options

You and I both...I have 2 upgrades available and I'm sitting on them for now. I really do want a newer device though, my Epic Touch is getting a little long in the tooth.
-
What PRL do you have loaded to give you 3G roaming?
-
I'm impressed by those renders...could see myself buying this device.

Robert, we just need to keep up these highly technical and informative discussions and not have it become another Sprintusers or Howardforums.
I think he does a great job of keeping it clean!
I got to visit the Sprint switch in NYC, now that's an experience!

Ok but with the abismal 3G speeds we get, tethering isn't really all that though.
The custom launcher thing is interesting, will have to look at that. Just am curious, since it's a big deal with a lot of folks

That is the PRL that the iPhone uses from Sprint. I have not loaded it my self but got it from ##UPDATE# because the 31001 (I think) came with the iPhone and gave me problems. I have never seen a PRL starting with 51 on Sprint but thats what my iPhone uses.
Ahhh ok, thanks!

So here's a question that I've been thinking about for a bit.
What's the incentive to jailbreak an iPhone? Are there any real specific benefits other than installing any app not approved?
-
I'd just like to say, as an employee who has to wait a while while before I can even think about upgrading my device, I hate you, I hate you all
That being said, I'm actually looking forward to holding this phone in hand and using it. I guess I was expecting revolutionary and we got evolutionary instead.
-
I have found that on my iPhone 4S, I have the 51087 PRL that allows Verizon 3G roaming (at least in my area, Avon, NY) because on my Evo Shift and Epic 4G I have never seen 3G roaming, but with my iPhone when it switches to Extended, the 3G speeds to from .6-.7 (Sprint) to 1.25 (VZW) and when I call *2 it gives me an VZW error message.....weird I'm not on the 60687 PRL...I have an Evo Shift activated and I can say that it always roams at 1x and my iPhone roams at 3G
How did you get that PRL on your phone?
-
Right but it'll cost more money and take more time than it will for Sprint.
Yep, but it's Verizon The one thing they have buckets of is money.
Did you see their new family data share plans? Instant $$

I'm not too sure, I haven't heard/read much about Verizon's LTE network but from LTE Release 9 to 10 it should just be a software upgrade, but for LTE release 8 to 10 it could potentially be hardware and that's why the other cell companies will be stuck in the past.
I'm assuming they will do whatever truck rolls are required anyway, as they are now going back to fill coverage gaps and capacity.

Stop being logical...
lol

I never paid for Nextel service, but I had it through work a couple of different times. It served a great purpose and the PTT was awesome, however, that network should have be gone already. If Sprint had started NV two years ago, they'd be on top.
I'm glad they waited for NV (if they did), allows us to put in the latest equipment, and less truck rolls.

Those numbers look great, 13/13 is fine for normal users, now give me that everywhere, and I'll be happy.
-
WiMAX is soon going to be a niche technology also.
True, but it has great uses now. At home I use it for a backup for my FiOS internet, and as a spare connection when I'm mobile. I was in Vegas a few weeks back and used it in my room to surf.
-
I too am waiting patiently for upgraded 3G service, only because 4G coverage is iffy once you're mobile. I stream Pandora a lot (walking to Port Authority daily, driving through tunnel, etc.) and 3G is good enough to stream at standard quality. The one benefit to NV that not many people talk about is the enhanced 3G, which will benefit all of us immediately. Even if the LTE equipment is installed and blocked, we'll all get the 3G benefits.

Looks like New yorkers don't like sprint...... Lol. With the improved speeds you are seeing I would guess its NV.

How do you verify eHRPD connectivity? I'm curious what shows in my local market.
