  1. John Legere at the CES 2014 conference talked about T-Mobile having 10X10 LTE compared to Sprints 5X5. Suggesting this automatically makes T-Mobile a faster network over Sprint. My question is, if this is true, why is sprint going with 5X5 and not 10X10 and least? Are there any benefits sprint deploying a 5X5 LTE network over 10X10 ?
  2. I'm looking forward to getting some LTE at work over at the IBM plant on highway 52 and diagonal. I'm dying for LTE up that way. Driving home, I am streaming iTunes Radio or google music. It's almost impossible. Than of course I have that jerk friend who runs a speed test on their verizon phone. I've check the sponsor forums, shows both the towers nearby as in progress. I wonder how far they are though? Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk
  3. This brings up an interesting topic. Would Legere be the new CEO of the new company? Where would Dan Hesse go?
  4. Actually I think this is an older landing page when WiMAX was out. They last update this when they began rolling out LTE I believe.
  5. I think that is the tower on 99th Grant near the Sam's club or the one near 104th and Irma. It's a really weak signal at 104th Huron. You go any further west, it usually falls back to 3G. I saw a hit on sensorly at 104th and Federal, but.. I can't ever pick that one up.
  6. Merlin, Maybe you could shed some light on this. I have wonder why the NV upgrades seem to have started outside of Denver and seem to be working there way in, instead of starting with the city and working it's way out into rural areas?
  7. It's pretty interesting to see the comments on tmobile stories at other sites. Johns gimmicks are definitely getting the attention he wants. I see people saying ... As soon as my AT&T contract is up... I'm gone. What I wonder is how many people who have jumped ship from AT&T, Sprint or Verizon to tmobile found out it's not always greener on the other side, and jumped back to their original carrier? 8. Why does he seem to target AT&T more instead of Verizon or Sprint?
  9. That's kind of a bummer. I was also thinking or hoping sprint traffic too priority over mvno wholesales traffic. Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk
  10. Isn't 800 LTE 5x5 LTE like the 1900 ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. I'm really hoping for the site near highway 52 and highway 119 at IBM to get some LTE love. I am pretty sure that tower that serves that area is extremely over capacity. Full bars, but the speed has always been awful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. http://www.theverge.com/2013/12/24/5242694/softbank-reportedly-in-final-talks-to-buy-t-mobile Japanese telecom SoftBank, which owns 80 percent of Sprint, is reportedly nearing a dealto buy T-Mobile. The Nikkei news service is reporting that SoftBank wants to buy a majority of T-Mobile using Sprint shares in a deal valued at more than $19 billion. A merger between the third and fourth-largest American carriers would create stronger competition for the two largest, Verizon and AT&T. It could also be seen as weakening the market by reducing the number of big players. The acquisition would have to be cleared by US antitrust regulators. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) quashed AT&T's attempt to buy T-Mobile in 2011 for a much greater sum of $39 billion, saying a merger would essentially be anti-competitive. SoftBank's bid could provoke the same ruling from the commission. The fact that Sprint is smaller than AT&T may tip the scales in SoftBank's favor, but T-Mobile has been gaining subscribers recently. A merger of Sprint's market share, SoftBank's capital, and T-Mobile's momentum may prove too powerful in the eyes of the FCC — but it looks like SoftBank wants to try anyway. If it doesn't work out, there's always Dish. So.. It looks like the talks are further along than we thought?

  18. Of course, they are not planning to confirm this until next year when they are ready to go public with the offer. Don't expect T-Mobile or Sprint to comment either.
  19. Agreed , SoftBank is a weak name. Honestly if the merger with tmobile happens, the new company should be called sprint. Also would like to see SoftBank in Japan take the sprint name too. Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk
