I get that, but aren't they relatively new to that business?
-
600 MHz is a mess and still years away.

I'm still surprised that Samsung's stuff is considered the best. Didn't someone on here say that Sprint was Samsung's first major win? at least outside of maybe Korea.
-
AJ that's just what they received from SpectrumCO, correct? Didn't they also win a large number of licenses on their own behalf at the original auction?
-
Welcome! I will echo what COZ said.

Welcome! I hope you enjoy your time here.

Oh, Neat. That wasn't directly what I was talking about that but maybe that's what I was thinking of.

I thought the most you could use was 20+20 with CA?
-
You aren't going to get many takers with those kind of prices.
-
I figured you probably were, I just had to point it out. I don't see any way where AT&T gives Sprint any PCS in exchange for the WCS it has, I'd rather AT&T just buy it from them because Sprint is never going to use it and AT&T would.

You got scooped, AJ. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4849-verizon-lte-im-impressed/page-2&do=findComment&comment=220314

Neal's article says that AT&T is using the C and D blocks (which, of course, are the unpaired blocks) as guard bands. http://www.extremetech.com/electronics/131316-att-and-sirius-xm-propose-rules-to-allow-lte-on-wcs

I think only the A and B block are paired, IIRC

Oh I'm well aware that this isn't something that's going to pop up overnight and will take awhile until it's ready, I'm just glad that Sprint won't have to spend tons of money just to make coverage the same as it was.

Interesting, I guess they might not have to then.

If they want VoLTE then they'll have to add sites to match the coverage they have now, right?

What does "LD" stand for? Line Division? Lame Division? Loony Division?
-
Yeah, it's weird that he doesn't post here.

1. Couldn't they do a spectrum swap to make PCS more contiguous? 2. I don't think it's fair to say that SoftBank doesn't care about PCS or ESMR. I think what SoftBank is trying to do is take advantage of Sprint's (arguably) greatest asset.

What he's saying is that if Sprint started putting their UMTS bands on handsets that it would be pretty easy for them to aggressively phase out CDMA.

Kinda brings new meaning to "knock on wood"

I wasn't aware that they had that much AWS, wow.

But nobody cares because T-Mobile's is "fast" and Sprint is "behind schedule" Sigh.
