  1. I am not sure if they are or are not prioritizing voice traffic, but voice will work poorly unless the data channel is not congested and running totally smooth. Any burp in the data destroys VOIP. Running VOIP over a congested 5x5 band 26 channel with no voice prioritization will be a disaster. This is true if it is VOIP or something just similar to VOIP. When a data stream stutters, voice stutters unless it is buffered somewhere and gets some correction. My Directv Now Video streaming will buffer. Suddenly it backs up about 3 seconds and repeats the programming that was messed up. With voice, backing up and repeating the last 3 seconds of a voice call might not be so good. It has to be almost flawless the first time.
  2. That SHOULD have already been thought of and set up. If it was not, then somebody looks bad.
  3. It was late last night when I discovered this new 10X10 Carrier and I did not really have time to investigate it. You could be right on the use of the "A" Block. It could be that Shentel could be forcing more 1x voice traffic onto 800 so that they could clear the "A" block for this 10X10. Another possibility is that 1X voice could have been shifted onto 1900 spectrum they obtained when they killed the nTelos cell sites in this area of Pennsylvania. Needs more investigation. My Galaxy s7 totally loves this new 10X10 and I am not able to get it to land on the old "G" block at all.
  4. Just found a new 10X10 band 25 carrier in Shentel territory. It Waynesboro, Pa city UL channel 26140 DL Channel 8140. This is a change. We did have the standard G block 5X5 and another 5X5 probably in Block "A" SCP identifies this as B25 with no second carrier identification. I am not sure if they obtained something other than block "A" somehow or what. I have not seen a B-25 second carrier identification in SCPsince this 10X10 suddenly appeared, but there may still be a second b-25 carrier here. An nTelos site was removed here as it was no longer needed. nTelos used band 25 but not sure what block was used here. It was not block "A:"
  5. Yep, Shentel area. Kinda make you wonder if that is the reason.
  6. Great for you. Makes me wonder what they see in your request that made them decide to ship one to you. My request was much earlier and while I did not get a rejection, I did not get any other explanation of the status.
  7. What did they tell you? Did they say you definitely are getting one or what? I signed up in June and only got a e-mail acknowledging my request.
  8. I am in the same exact boat with you. Shentel and I ordered the second day. I did get an e-mail acknowledging my request on June 12, but nothing since.
  9. U are getting a cached copy. Newest version indicates possible shipments in a week or so for some people. Others might wait a little longer. Posting dated Aug 11. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  10. https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/services/magic-box/status.html?ECID:MA:EM:20170612:ALL:MBOX The latest word on Magic Box shipments. Dated Aug 11.
  11. There is really about 3 more sites. One about a mile out of town on Rte 30 toward Chambersburg. one along Rte 116 at Rte 15. And a newer one at the split where Steinwehr ave splits off Baltimore St. They would not all have to be equipped with B-41. Which of the three other ones did you check?
  12. bbostwick, It took me awhile to understand just what you were saying due to the haha. I think you are saying that Shentel just activated B-41 2xCA in Gettysburg. You are probably correct. When they activated b-41 in the more populated areas over a year ago, Gettysburg was skipped. It does need B-41 and knowing how Shentel works, I would suspect that they decided it was time to get the city covered with B-41. Even the best maps on S4GRU still do not show the B-41 in Gettysburg but they probably will soon.
  13. I am in that over 55 class. I use a bunch of data. I do realize the vast majority over 55 might not, but there are some that will probably jump on the plan. I see the low price. Great if you have unlimited for that price and do not need to worry about usage.
  14. https://twitter.com/JohnLegere/status/894531343970729985 T-Mobile to unleash a cheapie unlimited plan for 55+ Seniors https://newsroom.t-mobile.com/news-and-blogs/unlimited-55.htm
  15. Yep, looks to me like you did find band 25 CA in Hanover, Pa. The screenshot looks like "G" Block Aggregated with the "C" block maybe. I was fairly sure you would find it on all sites around Hanover. They probably must do it to neighboring sites. Now, the question is how far does it go. Over the whole county or several counties? I have not seen it yet in Franklin County, but Franklin has always been the "A" Block for 1X and 3G. Adams and York were not the "A" block, but I am not sure that they were the "C" block" . I think some trading was done with one of the other carriers. Did you run a speedtest on the aggregated band 25?
  16. The next question would be: If you find it again, which site? The second question is: can you find it on the other nearby sites?
  17. Well, if you can not stream video on B-41 at the extended fringe area, then what good is HPUE? Sounds like it will only help when you are doing some big upload. When you are streaming video, doesn't the handset send acknowledgements back to the cell site? If you are in the B-41 fringe area and start an upload or download on band 25, will the session ever transfer to band 41? Does the cell site just think the handset is the old non-HPUE type and never detect the HPUE capability? How does the cell site know there is a HPUE handest involved if it is a download session.
  18. Streaming video at a good rate while at a spot that never would work with a non_HPUE handset.
  19. If you owned Samsung corp, why would the owner not fire the first engineer that put a new phone out that performed worse than the previous phones. Why should the RF be worse on a new phone? I would be asking questions. There may be a good reason, but I sure would need an explanation.
  20. OK, good answer. I would try to obtain one too if the B-41 was at a -115 level.
  21. You are correct in everything you mention. But I am surprised that they are going to furnish PDXmike a magic box when he states that he already has b-41 coverage inside his home.
  22. I can understand why YOU would benefit. I was really asking PDXmike who stated he already has b-41 inside his home.
  23. So---tell us why you need a magic box. You already have B-41 in your home and it sounds like it is going to get even better. Am I missing something?
