  1. https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/services/magic-box/status.html?ECID:MA:EM:20170612:ALL:MBOX The latest word on Magic Box shipments. Dated Aug 11.
  2. There is really about 3 more sites. One about a mile out of town on Rte 30 toward Chambersburg. one along Rte 116 at Rte 15. And a newer one at the split where Steinwehr ave splits off Baltimore St. They would not all have to be equipped with B-41. Which of the three other ones did you check?
  3. bbostwick, It took me awhile to understand just what you were saying due to the haha. I think you are saying that Shentel just activated B-41 2xCA in Gettysburg. You are probably correct. When they activated b-41 in the more populated areas over a year ago, Gettysburg was skipped. It does need B-41 and knowing how Shentel works, I would suspect that they decided it was time to get the city covered with B-41. Even the best maps on S4GRU still do not show the B-41 in Gettysburg but they probably will soon.
  4. I am in that over 55 class. I use a bunch of data. I do realize the vast majority over 55 might not, but there are some that will probably jump on the plan. I see the low price. Great if you have unlimited for that price and do not need to worry about usage.
  5. https://twitter.com/JohnLegere/status/894531343970729985 T-Mobile to unleash a cheapie unlimited plan for 55+ Seniors https://newsroom.t-mobile.com/news-and-blogs/unlimited-55.htm
  6. Yep, looks to me like you did find band 25 CA in Hanover, Pa. The screenshot looks like "G" Block Aggregated with the "C" block maybe. I was fairly sure you would find it on all sites around Hanover. They probably must do it to neighboring sites. Now, the question is how far does it go. Over the whole county or several counties? I have not seen it yet in Franklin County, but Franklin has always been the "A" Block for 1X and 3G. Adams and York were not the "A" block, but I am not sure that they were the "C" block" . I think some trading was done with one of the other carriers. Did you run a speedtest on the aggregated band 25?
  7. The next question would be: If you find it again, which site? The second question is: can you find it on the other nearby sites?
  8. Well, if you can not stream video on B-41 at the extended fringe area, then what good is HPUE? Sounds like it will only help when you are doing some big upload. When you are streaming video, doesn't the handset send acknowledgements back to the cell site? If you are in the B-41 fringe area and start an upload or download on band 25, will the session ever transfer to band 41? Does the cell site just think the handset is the old non-HPUE type and never detect the HPUE capability? How does the cell site know there is a HPUE handest involved if it is a download session.
  9. Streaming video at a good rate while at a spot that never would work with a non_HPUE handset.
  10. If you owned Samsung corp, why would the owner not fire the first engineer that put a new phone out that performed worse than the previous phones. Why should the RF be worse on a new phone? I would be asking questions. There may be a good reason, but I sure would need an explanation.
  11. OK, good answer. I would try to obtain one too if the B-41 was at a -115 level.
  12. You are correct in everything you mention. But I am surprised that they are going to furnish PDXmike a magic box when he states that he already has b-41 coverage inside his home.
  13. I can understand why YOU would benefit. I was really asking PDXmike who stated he already has b-41 inside his home.
  14. So---tell us why you need a magic box. You already have B-41 in your home and it sounds like it is going to get even better. Am I missing something?
  15. So, if VOLTE is somewhat unreliable yet, why rush into it? Yes, work on it, but there is no real need to make people use it. Yes, set up magic boxes, small cells, mini-macros and LTE roaming. Get that all in place. But do not force VOLTE onto the public before it gives the same coverage as 800 CDMA 1X. The average user does not realize how many of their voice calls are on 800. I see it often and I suspect an attempt might be being made to force voice users onto that channel to free up 1900 for LTE.
  16. I do not see the need for a "rush" into VOLTE by Sprint. Being first is not always good. Allow the others to have all the headaches and expense. Once it is bug free, buy the equipment or software and have a launch.
  17. Unless they fixed it in the last couple of weeks, your experience is not going to be good, especially at the south end of the strip. You can find pockets of decent service, but overall, it was not good. Some places it actually was horrible. Give us a report after you complete your visit. I have no idea why they can not seem to fix this. It is a well established static issue that somebody needs to quit peeing around and fix.
  18. You may be correct that it will never happen, but there is a possibility or several strange things happening. This sure is a strange thing that has never happened but it may be a way to combine the spectrum and have a kick axx network. Loads of capacity with less capex and miscellaneous expense. Shake hands and combine efforts all around to compete against the big 2. Several other strange things that could happen might be even worse.
  19. I am beginning to think that Sprint & T-Mobile should not officially merge and have to give up spectrum. But, could they just agree to treat each others LTE networks as native. Start off with that and then decide what the next step may be. One company build out in one state, the other company build out in another state. No need for both to be constructing in every corner. Share what they now have and what they will have. I would imagine it might be a nightmare to figure out how to make this all work, but it is silly for both of them to be building more capacity right beside each other. If either one builds a cell site, equip it with the appropriate spectrum no matter who actually owns it. Yes, a nightmare to manage, but both companies would save billions in Capex and service costs. Share LTE networks and work with each other and not against each other. Could this idea work???
  20. I would guess that this is unlikely. They would probably only allow the magic box to connect to a standard Sprint Cell site. This could turn into a real circus if one magic box could latch onto another magic box. While I do not really know for sure, I have enough experience in this field to be nervous about any uncontrolled daisy chain.
  21. The magic box is not going to be of much value unless you can capture some B-41 from a local cell site. In my case, I do have B-41 outside at a decent level and speed, but it will not show up inside my home. My B-26 is congested. Band 25 is a little better most of the time but does get slow at times. In General, most of the neighborhood has no band 41 at all, but my home is slightly elevated, So that helps me some but not enough to bring Band 41 inside. I hope they call me so they can understand the situation. My residence can grab the b-41 when others in the area probably can not. If I can get the B-41 with a magic box, many neighbors will benefit. I would think that the magic box could grab a B-41 signal inside a window when my Galaxy S-7 can not quite hold onto it.
  22. We all may be better off if we get the latest magic box. Surely since they will be releasing this newer box, you would think they found something to add or improve.
  23. I have a different opinion. I think we want to know if it is a Mini Macro site or an full 8T8R. Maybe a better way to show it, but I like to see it. If you are trying to find a new site, knowing it is a mini makes the hunt a whole different process.
