  1. About the only thing I can recommend short of tossing a few bucks to this site (so you can access the maps) is get the address of the building that the offending towers are on and check the city's property info for any construction with alteration type permits. If you're not sure of the location of the tower, try an app called SignalSite Map. It's not the best but it keeps a running map of the towers you've hit and plots its approximate location on a map.
  2. So, based on the permits that were pulled and the activity going on at these locations - and my sporadic signal quality, the city of Milwaukee is getting ready for warp speed. This one is for the Gimsters & Schubels (The old Gimbel's / Scheuster's building) at 11th and Mitchell st. It looks like it's miscategorized by the person who issued the permit, but the contractor is identical to the one working on the tower at 7th and Cleveland. http://itmdapps.milw...20MITCHELL%20ST This is the one for the tower at 7th & Cleveland http://itmdapps.milw...0CLEVELAND%20AV
  3. There's been some activity on the old Gimbels at 11th and Mitchell. There are several clusters of panels so it's hard to say if they were working on Sprint's.
  4. Looks like more work is going on at the two towers near me. The first (red warehouse at 1st and Becher - with 3 circles) are definitely Sprint towers. I asked a technician what they were doing and he confirmed they were upgrades. When I asked if LTE panels were going up, he shook his head and said "shortly". I didn't wanna hound him but I had the feeling of watching the linesmen install cable in my neighborhood when I was a little kid. I tried to get photos but the panel racks are set back on the roof so there was no way I could get a really good shot without using a more advanced camera. I'll get that done as soon as I'm able and share those.
  5. Call back and ask to swap it out for a non 2.5 model. It should do the trick. You can also try placing it in a higher location and of course, make sure the GPS antenna is near a closed window. The Airave 2.5's antenna is in the top-rear of the unit. The long black GPS antenna cord should have come in the box.
  6. Perhaps you got a bad one. I would call and ask for another one and I would avoid the Airave 2.5 and go with an older 2.0 if you have an Android device. They tend to have a problem finding it and staying on it.
  7. I have to say mine works perfectly in-home. I've even had the signal kicked up so it reaches my garage (well outside the default range of the Airave. I've had no problem with it handing off to the macro network - but keep in mind, it was never designed to pick up a call from the macro network when you're back in range. Granted, I have an odd configuration. All my wireless services are housed in my attic.
  8. I have the Airave 2.0 on Roadrunner with 50 down, 10 up. It works wonderfully for voice. As Digiblur said above, data shouldn't be a problem for you since you'll most likely use your WiFi. Your guests who are also Sprint customers should see ...ok... data speeds if they camp onto your Airave. I had slower internet on RR also, and it was still just fine. You can test your internet connection to check for any QoS issues. http://voiptest.8x8.com/ Just use the default entries. Be sure to click the "accept risks" box and run when the java warning comes up.
  9. Not sure if this is the proper venue for it... But it looks like Verizon wants to beef up service in Brookfield, WI. A local news station ran a story about resident opposition. http://www.wisn.com/news/south-east-wisconsin/waukesha/brookfield-residents-battle-cell-tower/-/10150328/20039148/-/x3grr2z/-/index.html?absolute=true
