  1. Mine is fairly boring comparing to most of everyone else's. Here's a link to the screen shot of my home screen: http://sdrv.ms/15iIf4o
  2. Nope. As I suspected, no Sprint LTE around the airport. Rode from Howell and Layton Ave east to Packard Ave. South to College Ave, West to 13th and back to Layton. Not a blip, bloop or blop on Sensorly. I'm thinking my buddy either confused WiMAX for LTE or perhaps saw LTE service on another carrier.
  3. I heard from a buddy of mine that there's LTE near and at Mitchell International airport (in Milwaukee for those of you not beyond the Cheddar Curtain). I'm pretty sure he's mistaken it for WiMAX, as that area is soaked with it but I'm not sure there's Sprint LTE service in that area. But I live near the airport so I'll troll around in a few minutes with Sensorly running just in case. Besides, it's a beautiful day to take the Harley out for a spin. I'll report back in a few hours.
  4. Guess I'll be running Sensorly on my morning and evening commutes. I usually putter along at about 25 mph and should have no problems picking up a signal.
  5. It's almost depressing to hear that the boonies are getting the upgrades before the bigger cities. And nothing against our Madisonians, but dammit, we Milwaukeeans were here first!
  6. I wonder if it has something to do with maintaining confidentiality of the internal sources at Sprint. If that were the case, I'd want to protect that as much as possible.
  7. LOL I used to cheat. I had a VERY illegal 20 watt kicker in my car that would boost the Tx & Rx signals. I'd just key up the mic and they could only get so close. I would bleed into just about every TV, radio and telephone within a couple thousand feet.
  8. This is promising. I may have to take a some time in the next few weeks and cruise around looking for a LTE signal. Kinda reminds me of my CB days when we would play "tag" using RF meters.
  9. I'll hope it's soon. I'm also hoping it's the one closest to my house which has seen quite a bit of work in the past few weeks.
  10. I've been scouring (sorta) the topics here and find no real reason why we're so delayed in getting this upgrade? Is there a real reason why the Milwaukee market is so late?
  11. Yeah it's pretty crappy. It's worse by the communications center. I can go on about the problem I had. It went from a bad signal issue to a really nice credit, to a HUGE problem with my credit card thanks to Sprint, to all is perfect and happy with a new phone and a even bigger credit.
  12. It took some time (over a month) to nail the problem down FIRMLY to a tower near me (SID 630). Their remote software was reporting normal operation during the hours of 1500 to about 0200. It was when an engineer dug a little deeper that the actual problem was discovered. The site was due for some upgrade (prep work for LTE, maybe?) and they bumped that site to the top of their list and it was fixed swiftly after that. Great data throughput, strong signals and no more flippy floppy between Sprint towers and roaming. Now I just have a minor problem at my office (Moorland & Calhoun area) and near the Waukesha Co. courthouse.
  13. Go easy on them. One of them went out of her way to assist me in a major signal issue and has kept me as current as possibe with some of the upgrades going on around Milwaukee - although this forum fills in the gaps.
  14. When it comes to new gizmos and dealiebobs, I'm all about instant gratification. So I completely understand your daughter's need for speed.
  15. According to the conatct I'm in touch with at Sprint, there is sometimes a performance problem with capacity and signal strength while they're working. My question is this: Once work has begun to upgrade a tower to NV, how long does it take to complete, including any necessary inspections and acceptance from Sprint?
  16. You aint whisteling Dixie, my friend. I'm experiencing pretty major problems right now. These problems are recent in my part of Milwaukee. Back in early March, I started seeing inconsistancies in service but only during a block of time, from 1500 till about 0230 or so on any given day. The rep I was working with, Christy McClurg, did a lot of research and reaching out to find out that it was a capacity issue and she said that the tower was about to be upgraded at any time. She sent an Airave to my home and while it worked for others, it didn't work for my phone, a GS2E4GT. As time mounted, I asked for a service credit. She suggested I get the credit and since I was close to an upgrade, authorized the upgrade to a GS3 at a steeply discounted price.. Once the GS3 arrived, it worked wonderfully with the Airave. But as of last Saturday (20 Apr 13) the GS3 stopped camping on the Airave and now hops around from tower to tower (some Sprint, some roaming and Airave, PRL & profile updated) without any real rhyme or reason. The tower closest to me was EVDO-Rev A data, but now it's reporting eHRPD data. However, when I move to another area of the city, like my office, I experience no issues whatsoever.
  17. Here are the screen shots: https://skydrive.live.com/#cid=AEB715D107B9C9BA&id=AEB715D107B9C9BA!281 (This is the roaming tower) https://skydrive.live.com/#cid=AEB715D107B9C9BA&id=AEB715D107B9C9BA!280 (This is the Sprint tower that always gives me problems)
  18. Looks like LTE is coming to the South Side (near 6th & Becher, Milwaukee). I noticed my GS3 has been flipping to roaming mode and back. (Non roaming Base Station ID 630, Roaming Base Station ID 30961) so I decided to get a couple field test apps to see why. Turns out BOTH stations are eHRPD! I've attached screen shots. To be honest, I have ZERO clue what the screen shots say, I had to do a lil research to figure out the basics. If anyone can explain the finer points, that would be great. I have an Airave that's been active and running but my GS3 REFUSES to camp on it today. I would imagine it will after work on the tower is complete. EDITED: I can't upload photos for some reason. I'll post them as soon as I'm able.
  19. . It's been great to read on Milwaukee's Network Vision upgrade. Is there any update? I hope it's very soon. I just purchased an LTE phone and have to use an Airave device just to make or receive calls.
