  1. It will be an exercise in growing pains.  I'm just hoping that we see some of that network synergy sooner rather than later with both pre merger entities acting as native coverage for one another during the transition period.  As of now I have never wandered onto a T-Mobile tower with any of my devices.  Lets hope they can do a broad spectrum 5g release. I'm holding out for the Note 10 5g and hoping they are able to integrate both chipsets for mm wave and repurposed existing spectrums.

I live in SE San Diego where AT&T competes with Cox poorly.  We didn't get Gigablast until recently in my neighborhood.  I am happy that we finally was able to order Gigablast.

Congrats.  It really is worth it.  They didn't even charge me a connection fee for last mile and since I was already on their 300MBps plan before the upgrade my pricing did not change

What ISP you have? Didn't know they offering more than 1Gbps  (100 Megabyte) speeds for home ISP.  600MB/s is fast.  We have 10Gbps servers maybe 10Gbps connections will be the new norm for home ISP.  I have a 300Mbps (megabits) internet and Cox will be offering 1Gbps soon.

Not sure that is even possible to push 600MB/s (6Gbps) on a home Wi-Fi wireless.  It is 600Mbps (megabits)?

I know this is an old post @bucdenny but cox has been offering Gigabit (1,000 Mbps) speeds for over 5 years here.  I have had it out here in the "boonies" of ECV/SMR long before  ATT or any other piggybacked to light up those dark fiber lines here. (honestly thought Google was going to beat them to it)  Just did a quicked wireless vs wired) on same gigabit wifi network comparison.

*Note, wireless test device is a note 9. obviously the wired device (computer) had a lower latency  than the wireless device but I was still and always have been impressed. of course ive been running a mesh network (Velop with 6 nodes for a 3000sq ft home) so i would expect nothing less.    having gigabit fiber along with wireless routers that can maximize those signals through dedicated back channels is amazing.  When something better comes around I will jump on it!

I have seen Sprint (wireless non wifi) LTE speeds in excess of 100Mbps at times which is more than enough for the most dedicated individuals mobile needs.

Just read through the google app store reviews and it looks like the app died 4 months ago.

Wish I hadnt wasted my time.

If that's the case and someone can confirm, that would be very helpful to those of us that try to help fill out map coverage.   If not sensorly, I am sure there is or can be another to pick up the slack (albeit from scratch)

  5. Seeing as voice is purportedly being integrated with hangouts this year, i hope we still can keep the abilities of voice insomuch as other lines ringing, voicemail transcriptions and the ability to listen to the message but with all of the features of hangouts including emoji.  i currently use both gvoice and hangouts.

  6. Nobody gave a clear answer to my question, which is why I asked it. There were "maybe it was because of ..." or "it could have been because of ..." but there was never a, "This was because of ..." which left me with answers that could have been correct, but not definite ones.

It wasn't hard to figure out if you have data or not.  Looking at the UBI site, there are several data options, none of which is unlimited.  http://www.ubitelecom.com/plan/pindex.php

Also, the Note 2 seems to fall under their BYOSD (bring your own sprint device) option and is not officially supported as stated previously.  The best thing to do would be to call and speak with an UBI rep and explain your issue and see if they can do anything on their end.

  7. Well my god it can't come soon enough. Band 25 is getting rather bogged down here in Atlanta and we could seriously use some offloading to free up some bandwidth. The more Spark enabled phones, the better. This electronic freeway is starting to look like rush hour on the Downtown Connector!

P.s..anyone know how to sync fb contacts to the N5? My old GS4 did this flawlessly. I didn't realize it wasn't baked into the 4.4 OS!

I believe you have to install the app itself and allow permissions to edit your contacts.  Google disallowed this feature awhile back because of numerous user complaints and data security breaches.  I know some people want it, but I am glad it was removed. One of the main concerns (besides the obscene amount of access/permissions that the app and facebook connectivity want) is that it took and uploaded all contact data from your phone (not just facebook contacts) and then subsequently overwrote them or deleted them if say a friend changed what is viewable in facebook.

This was an egregious violation of privacy and trust.  For example, If I removed a friend, family member, co-worker etc from facebook or they closed their account, changed what was viewable on FB, suspended it temporarily, were hacked, etc etc it completely removed that contact and all data (even it were never in facebook before and had only existed on my phone)  I actually lost my grandmothers number this way.

I'm sure there are many workarounds if you honestly want that "functionality," but a safer bet would be to use a contact exporter/importer.  I won't even allow facebook (the app) or a direct in-android account link to any of my devices anymore because of prior concerns.

EDIT: You can still check what contacts facebook has from your devices by going to https://www.facebook.com/invite_history.php  all links and ways to find it have been hidden deep in options

  8. Midtown Atlanta?  Now you're talking my language.  I live between Midtown and Buckhead off Peachtree.  But I noticed the same thing.  All of the 800 acceptances thus far (at least that we know of from Robert's source) have been outside the Perimeter (I-285 for those not familiar)...off to the south and east.  However, the reach of 800 is greatly improved over the propagation characteristics of a 1900 mhz signal so it's possible you connected to one of those. But I think the more likely scenario here is that new towers have had 800 voice activated closer to or within the city and that is what you are connecting to based on your signal strength deep inside the building you work in.  I just don't think you'd have had such a strong signal from a tower so distant and outside the urban core.  I would also venture to guess that even though 800 covers a pretty large area that the RF engineers have adjusted the downtilt more (in those southern and eastern suburbs) than those towers would be if they were in a truly rural area.

All of what I'm saying is pure conjecture at this point and I guess we'll have to wait and see what the next round of 800 voice acceptances shows when Robert posts it.

That said...I just updgraded to signal check pro to see if I could get 800 voice and...so far, not yet.

Egypt Sherrod has made me well versed in the neighborhoods of Atlanta.  :D

  10. Sprint users need the ultimate epenis for years of waiting for this golden network.

I'm sure you will be showered goldenly with e-penis delight.  EDIT: Sorry Robert (I just saw your off-topic warning)

I'm not sure if I'm understanding your logic in this statement. What facts do you have to back this up? What does "because it just do" mean? I am not very familiar with that statement.

If you're going to try and give a valid reason for why the network "is not up to par", then at least make it be logical. "Because it just do" is not only 1, completely grammatically incorrect, but 2, it's not a real reason. That's kind of like saying a plane is able to fly through the air "because it just do". No, there was a great deal of time invested into planning the construction of an airplane by the Wright Brothers. They did countless experiments and figured out how to make a plane fly by combining thrust and wing designs to make optimal lift for the plane to leave the ground. It doesn't "just do".

Unfortunately, I believe his supposition falls under the unnecessary whining and rant clause here at S4GRU.

I wish people wouldn't make carte blanche statements of ignorance as there is a wealth on information on this site.  (I'm hoping that this guy is just joking much like that Le-A name   http://static.fjcdn.com/pictures/Le-a.+cause+the+dash+don+t+be+silent_b17309_4160459.jpg , perhaps his mother?)

Fully back on topic, Has anyone come across anymore Masayoshi announcements on the FCC/DoJ front??
