  1. Just to add to what Terrell is saying about his home market...in Baltimore/Central MD, even in areas with full 26,25,41 (8t8r) I am still getting a lot of 3G along major highways. When I have LTE, even band 41 now that so many people have Spark decives, it is below 5Mbps (occasionally it'll cap in the 20's, but not often anymore). We have density and capacity issues in Maryland. I really hope they can add a few more towers to this area. Until then, at least the 3G is fast enough to stream Spotify. Edit: Marcelo seems quite aware of the capacity issues Sprint has, in his response on Twitter last night.
  2. Even without the 600Mhz spectrum, this new network plan is sounding like it'll be a very nice upgrade for Sprint customers. If Sprint decides to participate in the auction, adding 600Mhz LTE on top of this would be an even better situation.
  3. I really doubt Sprint is going to force you off the unlimited plans (at least not ANYTIME in the foreseeable future). To my knowledge, Sprint has never forced anyone off legacy plans.
  4. Regardless of what happens with the network, hearing the CEO (and it's parent company) are on-board with a 18-24 month time table, is quite impressive! Network Vision gave them the architecture and base core network on which to build...exciting times in the future for Sprint customers and shareholders for sure. EDIT: Has anybody found video of the Re/Code talk with Marcelo yet?
  5. nTelos is awful in Virginia. I wish Sprint would add native coverage along I-81.
  6. Nobody has ever reported problems with network prioritization. I've used over 30GB of data on one line on Framily...and had no issues. I don't think that is a good reason to have higher costs...my opinion anyways.
  7. Do you live in central Maryland? Lol...we have a lot of 8t8r b41, and LTE800 here...and I'm still rocking 3G. The 3G is usually over 1Mbps so it's useable for sure, just wish it would stay on LTE in areas with all towers upgraded.
  8. I think if Sprint can densify some areas, the 600Mhz spectrum won't really matter much. Densification might be cheaper than bidding on that lowband stuff...lol. I know in Baltimore, even areas with LTE800 on several towers in a row, I switch to 3G while driving alot still...so sure, 600 might help...but I'd rather see more towers on their existing spectrum than just new antennas.
  9. Recording posted now...going to try to listen to it. EDIT: My notes on CFO conference speech... Biggest 1st Quarter highlight: CHURN *Factors improving churn *Tighter credit standards *"Network doing so much better now" *65% growth in "prime" customers from last year 1st quarter *2x20 Carrier Aggregation being deployed *Going to take time to get to other carriers *One Rate plans are proving to be successful *Confident in ability to continue positive net-adds *Half of all new adds installment or lease *1/3 of new adds are lease (so greater than installment) *HUGE cost savings on CAPEX side with Software relationship. Gear costs lower. Better than their competitors. *Net port positive is staying consistent NETWORK Discussion *800 Voice done (we knew this) *LTE800 will be done by end of year (we knew this) *2.5 is full steam ahead...look at "speed awards" to see where it is being deployed *Continue to spend capital to enhance network Question to CFO: "Do you need additional low band spectrum?" CFO: "Knowing we have wifi layer for calling, given the 800 will be complete...it gives you a reason to ask if we really need the low band" CFO: "Timing of low band auction will impact whether we participate in it" (side bar: lame update overall)
  10. Anybody listen to the CFO speech this morning? http://jpmorgan.metameetings.com/confbook/tmt15/directlink.php?p=18601 Replay hasn't been posted yet...just wondering if anything good was discussed.
  11. I really would love to know the hold up for that site. That area see's hundreds of thousands of tourists each summer...they need to get that tower updated ASAP. Sprint barely usable for phone calls on the board walk.
  12. OC is really really awful. I was there a couple weeks ago, even the boardwalk is switching between 1X, roaming, and unusable 3G :-(
  13. My highest data month was 45gigs...usually around 10gigs or so though.
  14. Still having dropped wifi calls with the router :-( I have FiOS 50/50 speed tier, which is definitely sufficient enough for voip calls.
  15. i have a 6 Plus...even cycling airplane mode through that area kicks me back to 3G :-(
  16. Anyone familiar with MD-295 in AA County? There is a 8t8r tower very near MD-295 and MD-100.....I get parked on 3G there every single day. Drives me crazy, because that towers 3G speeds are awful for some reason.
  17. Gothca! My area has an app for that...lol
  18. I came here to post that very link! Hopefully they will announce some sort of details in the near future!
  19. I disabled the Smart Connect feature because it was putting my iPads on the crowded 2.4Ghz wifi band and causing streaming issues. 5.0Ghz is super fast even with fewer bars!
  20. I have solid LTE coverage at my house, so I don't use wifi calling for coverage (at least not at home). I use it because it has a positive impact on battery life. But the wifi calling option is a huge help at some other locations.
