  1. I upgraded from the S5 2 days ago. I'm very impressed overall! Especially having better signals where my S5 was somewhat struggling with in certain locations with data. I was also amazed how much longer the Note 5 can hold onto B41 distance wise compared to the S5.
  2. Temple Heights site in Oceanside, is now live with B41
  3. Best Buy is also giving a $100 gift card for 2 yr contracts, lease, and easy pay. 2 yr contracts weren't valid until yesterday.
  4. How do you identify what carriers are being used?
  5. True, but I'm an iPhone user. Just by looking more closely at things, and the back and forth info, I'm going to just do another 2 yr contract agreement. Leasing isn't for me, as I imagined. A Sprint sales chat rep was also nice enough to have his supervisor give me a few more dollars off whatever device I decide to get under contract. Will decide if I should keep my S5 as a backup, or sale it on Swappa.
  6. Good to know! I never knew that.
  7. Locked onto B41 in Oceanside (O'side Harbor) passing by heading back south from San Clemente earlier this evening on the 5. I happened to take a quick glance, and noticed GCI ended with "A" on SignalCheck. Was that 2nd carrier? Couldn't get a screenshot to verify.
  8. Yep, just found out now at another Sprint store. After back and forth last night with chat, and confirming with notes, and my copy of our convo, it appears I'm not eligible with that offer according to Sprint store after showing me in their system. If I do lease, my bill with be roughly around $106 monthly, even with a new everything plan, that will be a dollar less, with employee discount applied. I think I'm going to do another 2 yr contract instead, like I've been doing for years. Just less hassle, nothing changes, and just pay discounted price along with taxes.
  9. Well, I have great news! I will be going to get my leased device probably tomorrow, or later on in week. Got off with a knowledgeable Sprint chat rep, said that everything I was told about was misinformed information, and even apologized. All legacy owners get credit when leasing, will show on bill, and the promotion for leasing ends on 10/31/15.
  10. I give up. I guess I upgraded a little too early/late for everything to be this complicated. Spoke with 2 people in sales an hour ago (and more than likely overseas), and spoke with a rep on chat. Both on sales looked at my account, and said no offers are available for leasing with $15 service credit. Only offers I have according to them is adding extra line to my account, in which I don't want, and tablet offers. I asked about long time customers getting that credit. Didn't get anywhere, but them saying I can lease, do easy pay, or 2 yr contract, but if I lease, I have to pay the full monthly charge ($25) of the phone, easy pay a down payment, and of course 2 yr options paying in full, or discounted price. One asked where did I see, hear, and get this info. If you want to know what phone I want, it's the Note 5. As for rep on chat, she flat out told me I keep my plan, it's qualified go to a Sprint store, get what I want, lease it, and no doubt I will get the credit. Then she said it won't show on my account now if I got the phone, but it will systematically to my account. Then there's the Best Buy crew. I went there to see what's up. All they tried to do was get me to get their $55 or $85 plan, and walk out with a new phone for free. I didn't bite on that. Any suggestions? I need to speak with the higher ups it seems lol
  11. Interesting. Different Sprint stores/reps say different things. I called Sprint sales today asking questions. I didn't have any type of service credit on my 450 account. According to the rep, the $15 loyalty service credit is "ONLY" for select plans/accounts only, which is the $60 plan, and that plan only. And if I wanted that, I'd have to give up my legacy plan. Is this true? Only $10 was offered to me if I leased (not easy pay).
  12. I have a question regarding easy pay with legacy plans. The contract is voided, and the same plan is kept according to comments above. What about employee discounts? Can those still be kept, along with $15 service credit?
  13. I don't have a phone that has CA, but wondered the same thing about how to identify if you are on CA or not, until I seen a comment in the San Diego market last night showing examples. From reading that, it looks like certain numbers or letters are identifiers. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2144-network-visionlte-san-diego-market/page-76
  14. I have a question that may sound silly. I have an S5, and live about a mile to a mile and half from a site that's live with B41 I can't pick up, even being a mile away. Would the Note 5 possibly pick up that signal?
  15. I finally found my issue. It was a Weather & Clock Widget app I'm using. I agree the S5 has it's glitches. I like this phone, but it's not enjoyable like it use to be with 5.0
  16. What's causing this? I've been noticing it happening over the past couple of days.
  17. Yesterday while in Carlsbad, I was heading to Vista taking the back way on Poinsettia/Melrose. I then noticed being stuck on eHRPD only for a couple of miles, until I got near the 78 in Vista.
  18. I called up Sprint the day before about the North County issues. According to a rep, there has been many outages in North county in the past couple of weeks.
  19. New B41 site in Vista that's now live. Was in testing a month ago, when I happen to see it popup, and disappear at the time. The site is over in one of those white agriculture structures where the GPS is pointing. Sponsor map also shows same site location.
  20. Anyone else experiencing no LTE/B41 countywide that has it, and being stuck on so so 3G or 1x for past week and half? North County seems to be that way again, Especially Oceanside and Vista. Even at home for me, LTE has been useless, and 3G isn't all that great either. I've reported on Sprint Zone, and called, but nobody doesn't know anything speaking with reps, and they all swear up and down it's my phone being the issue, so in return one gave me a $10 off my next bill for not really resolving the issue. Same for work in Encinitas, when I have pretty good LTE ranging from -93 to -95dBm, but been getting 1x off and on throughout the day off and on lately.
  21. Confirming San Ysidro is now Spark live! I went back down to a very crowded outlet, and busy border this afternoon. Took 2 speed tests when I first noticed when I parked, and the second was way faster leaving, sitting at a traffic light near the border crossing heading back northbound. Big difference in service compared to the last time I was there.
  22. Last Sunday I decided to take a ride to Lake Elsinore. I was amazed at how much B41 is live after crossing the border check, going into Temecula all the way to Lake Elsinore. The strongest signals seemed to be in between both places. I've mentioned poor to no service in Carlsbad along certain areas of the coast, or the past 2 months. Here's what I've experienced this morning. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ofspmfoxhe9lg8g/AADqFmcng3a2nkuab2zrRjJ7a?dl=0 I was also in Vista last Saturday at a friend's house I go to frequently. As mentioned in past comments, service has always been spotty from decent 3G, so so LTE, and it's to the point now where it just plain suck since early July. I called Sprint many times, and used Sprint Zone. Well I ended up calling to report this issue forthe 4th time. There are 2 towers the house sits between. One 3G, and the other LTE. After being on the phone with a Sprint rep for nearly an hour, I've explained what's been happening. He looks in the system, and sees the calls I've made reporting this location a couple of times. First thing asked was if I updated profile, etc..... I explained that didn't have anything to do with it. He looks again, and then tells me I'm connected to a tower 3 miles or so away just by looking at the system. Looking at Sponsor maps here, I know I'm sitting in between 2 towers they don't see, which are both no further than a mile and half apart. One I can actually see from back yard, that's less than a mile. After an hour of getting nowhere, a ticket was submitted, and was told there were some upgrading a couple days before, but I explained this has been going on for a very long time. I took screenshots. What I did discover leaving late that evening was a B41 signal appearing over at the other tower on way home. Here's what I get everytime I go visit. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fve6c7c7s4h4t0x/AABjLksaT_VTNJEe1d-iup23a?dl=0
