  1. Unfortunately for him, you were "wasting his time." The commissioned sales employees are not getting paid for forking over free SIM cards to existing subs. And that likely explains the attitude some have encountered. AJ
  2. "What a waste it is to lose one's mind. Or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. How true that is." -Vice President Dan Quayle AJ
  3. Is Siri away visiting her sister while you fool around with Google Now? AJ
  4. Guys, come on. As I have harped on before, please resize your huge screenshots. We have a big problem -- pun intended -- with unnecessarily large screenshots and needlessly long post quotes today. That is just bad forum etiquette. Additionally, these screens are nothing new. They have been around since the EVO LTE. AJ
  5. I am afraid not. There is no evidence that the PRL has control over LTE band selection. At this point, the PRL is basically a CDMA2000 vestige. AJ
  6. To be clear, this is nothing new. It is not related to tri band nor e/CSFB. A signal schism between between roaming CDMA1X and native EV-DO/eHRPD or LTE has been possible for years. We get a similar situation posted a few times per month. That is why I asked, "Where have you been?" AJ
  7. Yes, it is possible. We have talked about this numerous times previously in numerous threads. Where have you been? By the way, your eHRPD signal strength is unusable, but that should come as no surprise. AJ
  8. How come?! Maybe Sprint and LG are beefin' now... AJ
  9. Do not worry about CDMA2000 in 600 MHz. 3GPP2 may not even bother to standardize it. Even if it does, no operator is going to deploy CDMA2000 in 600 MHz. CDMA2000 is a legacy technology -- a pretty damn good one for voice -- but it is nearing the end of its lifespan. Furthermore, should the FCC adopt an FDD band plan for 600 MHz, it will almost certainly be licensed in 5/10 MHz FDD blocks. That fits nicely with established LTE FDD configurations but leaves no really suitable room for LTE + CDMA1X. So, regardless of FDD, there will be no CDMA1X 600. AJ
  10. The Samsung Galaxy Mega, Galaxy S4 Mini, and HTC One max all received their Spark OTA updates last month, basically right out of the box. AJ
  11. Where? My encyclopedic knowledge of Saturday Night Live. Velvet Jones is a character from the early 80s, practically before my time. But he is one of the legendary characters. So, if you know SNL, you know Velvet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZVnve5wG0A AJ
  12. The Nexus 5 and LG G2 are not yet Spark devices. Rather, an OTA update early next year will enable tri band LTE. Manually doing so with your MSL may or may not have the same effect. AJ
  13. I am glad that your sense of humor is coming around, Josh. It was lacking earlier tonight. But your sense of perspective is still on the mends. You have consistently "cheaped out" on sub par Android handsets. Then, you go back to high end iOS handsets because they are all high end -- for now. That is akin to eating at McDonald's, then judging all American food to be mediocre. For once, get yourself a high end Android handset. You can even still be cheap, as the Nexus 5 is, honestly, cheap. So, there you go... AJ
  14. Josh is afraid that iOS might get jealous if he flirts with a high end Android handset, so he sticks with mid range Android handsets and tells Siri, "Don't worry, baby. They mean nothing to me." AJ
  15. Galaxy S4 Mini = mid range Android = Josh AJ
  16. Hey, do not get ahead of yourself. Robert has not yet finished his degree at the Velvet Jones School of Technology. AJ
  17. Plus, if you hold it flat and throw it sidearm, you can probably make it skip a few times. AJ
  18. Yes, that is the missile launch code. Abort! Abort! AJ
  19. Spark means tri band. It does not mean Cat 4 LTE Advanced. Because both the Mega and the Mini use the MSM8930AB, they should be Cat 3 devices. Only the two LG handsets thus far use the MSM8974 or MDM9625, making them Cat 4. AJ
  20. Bingo. Jim, Bob, and Joan are lobbyists. Karma for them should be a bitch. AJ
  21. I cannot speak for VZW. I am not a "Droid" attuned to those devices. But Sprint has Cat 4 basebands in the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, LG G2, and LG/Google Nexus 5. Since the Note 3 is single band, though, the Cat 4 baseband probably means nothing in end use. So, the LG handsets have center stage right now. AJ
  22. To put this in perspective, that may not be a huge jump over the 75 Mbps peak that VZW has had to offer with its 10 MHz FDD band 13 LTE 750 network the past three years. And sufficient backhaul could be in question. What it definitely does represent is an unburdened AWS overlay -- because very few VZW devices support band 4 LTE 2100+1700. AJ
