    LG G3

I did not know the camera was set to 10MP by default. Bad decision by LG!
  4. Very little to no signal around the Bentonville Battlefield. How am I supposed to relive the Civil War without a cell phone connection?
  5. Do most consumers need or want tethering?
  6. Q&A: Iliad’s Founder Explains His T-Mobile Bid http://blogs.wsj.com/corporate-intelligence/2014/08/01/qa-iliads-founder-explains-his-audacious-t-mobile-bid/
  7. Iliad's offer may have been a power-play to scare its French competitors. http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/08/01/us-tmobile-iliad-banks-idUSKBN0G146R20140801
  8. It's mergers and acquisitions season. Sprint/SoftBank is the main buyer right now, but T-Mobile can have various other suitors, such as DISH. Considering current momentum and industry consolidation, DT would be foolish to sell at market price.
  9. Yes, Iliad needs to sweeten the deal if they expect T-Mobile board and shareholders to consider them. Maybe they are just testing the waters right now. Sprint shares have taken a beating today.
  10. Iliad is only offering $15 billion in cash for 56.6% of T-Mobile US at $33 a share; no premium at all. I do not see how T-Mobile's board would really want this offer. http://online.wsj.com/articles/frances-iliad-makes-bid-for-t-mobile-us-1406822189 And here's a chart for subscriber numbers (not sure if current):
  11. A quick little piece on Iliad's price war in France since 2012 ($3 mobile plans): http://blogs.wsj.com/corporate-intelligence/2014/07/31/3-a-month-the-discount-magic-of-iliad-french-bidder-for-t-mobile/
  12. Today's drop is due to T-Mobile receiving a buyout offer from French telecom Iliad. I could not resist and sold some of my other stock to buy Sprint again at $7.26
  13. The buyout offer from Iliad seems like a lose-lose situation for Sprint/SoftBank. 1. If SoftBank continues its pursuit of T-Mobile, it will have to pay a much higher premium and time. 2. If SoftBank does not buy T-Mobile, it will face an even more powerful T-Mobile with its yet another cash/management infusion (from Europe).
  14. Well I already bought a crapload of Sprint this past year ranging from $6.08 to $7.69 . I just do not have any more cash unless I sell off my other stocks.
  15. Sprint shares were beaten down today 3% despite the quarterly profit surprise. Bizarre.
  16. I am not worried about AT&T and Verizon. Sprint has $33 billion in debt; T-Mobile has $14 billion in debt. Sprint lost almost $2 billion last year while T-Mobile barely broke even. The two little companies are still only around because they respectively got bailed out by SoftBank and Deutsche Telekom (via AT&T breakup fee).
  17. No margin (profit) = competition disappears (bankruptcy, consolidation, retrenchment, etc.) That's (market) economics. So we should "care". Low prices are great, but they ultimately need to be sustainable and successful (profitable) for the companies to continue to offer them.
  18. Just saw that. The Gigaom anti-Sprint article is a whole lot of whining with no specifics on how Network Vision is a failure.
  19. Merger announcement delayed until at least September. http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/07/29/us-tmobile-sprint-corp-idUSKBN0FY1ZU20140729
  20. The promise remains: If Sprint's share price reaches $10 in the future, I will donate another $100 to S4GRU.
  21. Revenue is sales, ie the money coming in regardless of what goes out.
  22. I wonder why the nTelos CEO mysteriously resigned, even also quitting the Competitive Carriers Association (CCA).
