  1. More info on the slow LTE rollout from 5/7: http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/sprint-blames-vendor-execution-reason-network-vision-delays/2013-05-07 1) "The move to one unified multi-mode network [was] tied to the shutdown of the Nextel iDEN network" 2) "During the second half of 2012, we experienced delays with vendor execution, backhaul connectivity delays, shortages in equipment such as fiber cable and antennas, as well as other regulatory and environmental issues."
  2. SignalCheck Pro has the signal info, S4GRU has the Sprint towers info. Maybe combine the two. Suggestion: pay one-time in-app fee to support the app and this site.
  3. Don't LTE sites broadcast their BSID's? Maybe cross reference that info with the NV maps in the sponsors' section at S4GRU
  4. The $2.2 billion is for the other creditors, not including Ergen.
  5. I'm lucky, that I'm on a family plan. Only $45/month for my share. If I had to get my own line, I would've taken over (Assumption/Transfer of Liability) an unlimited data Verizon plan.
  6. A Catch-22. At least, Sprint is slightly cheaper than Verizon and AT&T. So it's a tolerable "2nd class"/low-rent wireless carrier FOR NOW.
  7. At this point, it's better to have a name with no history in the USA than the stigma and negative history of the "Sprint" brand.
  8. I think most of Sprint's money for network upgrades disappeared after the Nextel fiasco, iPhone commitment deal, and staying too long with plans with only $10/month for unlimited data.
  9. What's the word? Is Clearwire still using microwave for backhaul for the TD LTE sites? I would've thought an upgrade to fiber would be needed at least if the towers are going to have both Wimax and TD LTE...
  10. Sprint should've changed their name after the Softbank deal a few weeks ago to get rid of the stigma associated with the Sprint name
  11. In other NYC news, Sprint service is coming to the underground subway stations: http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/24/sprint-subway/
  12. There was a House of Reps hearing on the 600mhz incentive auctions on 7/23: http://energycommerce.house.gov/hearing/oversight-incentive-auction-implementation PR releases from Sprint http://forums.androidcentral.com/sprint/291874-official-sprint-tri-band-lte-phone-discussion-thread.html http://forums.androidcentral.com/sprint/291874-official-sprint-tri-band-lte-phone-discussion-thread.html
  13. From 7/23's WSJ: "Pentagon Offers Compromise on Spectrum Sought by Wireless Carriers" http://online.wsj.com/article_email/SB10001424127887323829104578622610492673332-lMyQjAxMTAzMDIwMjEyNDIyWj.html
  14. Found this on Google News: "Oh My Tech!: Sprint to turn on 4G LTE in Utah Technology » Carrier will launch high-capacity network late in 2013, spokesman says" http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/money/56604137-79/carrier-com-download-http.html.csp
  15. Too bad i can't turn off 4g to save on battery life like I could on my OG Evo 4G
  16. I'd expect that site will disappear by the end of the year after the integration is complete
  17. Differing colors for different LTE bands might be too much work/overhead for a free app like sensorly. In Sensorly, when the colors darken and/or the coverage area is less "patchy/spotty" might be the only way to tell if LTE has improved in your area.
  18. Thats for the existing pre-merger wimax sites, not LTE. I think
