Holy Cow !! An actual CA reading in LV!! Maybe I will trade in my Note 4 for a Note 5!!
-
-
Good stuff, Josh...when do you think CA will be a reality in the LV Valley? Also any news on B26 for SB County/LV area? I'd sure like to see B26 before I leave this world..
-
I don't know that it was B25..just assumed so since a DL of 30 for B41 is fairly pedestrian these days..LOL
-
Not bad for B25; I've seen DLs in The mid to high 50's for B41 out here in the Henderson burbs ..never seen a B25 in the 30's however

Sprint Home Wifi Router [Wi-Fi Connect][Asus AC66u]
scubajwd replied to marioc21's topic in General Topics
Yup...totally appropriate in your case and Sprint should get some kudos for reaching out to folks in your shoes...before NV came along I was there also and my wife kept asking why we stayed with Sprint.. I asked her to have faith,,it paid off for us..hope things get better for you on your home signal.. -
Sprint Home Wifi Router [Wi-Fi Connect][Asus AC66u]

I'll concede that QOS is a great thing here..if it works! I guess I'm a lucky one in that I have 6 bars of strong 3G signal so we never have issues with voice or text at the house...wasn't always that way before NV arrived..we went thru years of almost zero Sprint or Verizon signal here where I live..wi-fi calling in those days would have helped out plenty altho we used voip with a land line for awhile -
Sprint Home Wifi Router [Wi-Fi Connect][Asus AC66u]
scubajwd replied to marioc21's topic in General Topics
Please clarify what the "awesome decision" that Sprint made really means..someone still needs a wi-fi calling capable phone..correct? So are they giving away this router for "free" to those poor souls who have no 3G signal at home for voice calling? I believe my wife is the only person left who actually uses a phone for voice..I would guess most of us in here already have wireless routers in our homes using incoming fiber for internet and thusly a generous smattering of wifi thru our abodes..PR move? Must be something here I'm missing...another piece of hardware in my house and my wife will put me out with the trash along with this router.. -
Netgear Zing 771S tri band LTE mobile hotspot discussion
scubajwd replied to delta772er's topic in Hotspots/USB Modems
I have mine suspended on my Ting account; wasn't using it any more so they allowed me to suspend my account; one click & I'm back with it..don't know about Sprint; I sure wish Sprint would lower ther $/GB prices for their hotspot plans.. -
Does Sprint have contingencies in place for the California exodus?
scubajwd replied to ImmerStark's topic in General Topics
Actually the take of water by Las Vegas is miniscule compared to the water drawn by California (4.4 million acre ft/yr and Arizona (2.8 million acre ft/yr; Nevada gets a paltry .3 million acre ft/yr a factor of 15 times less than that taken by Cali.... the current LV "straw" is only 20 ft or so below the surface; the new straw insures that Southern Nevada will get at least the paltry amount agreed to in 1928.. -

Does Sprint have contingencies in place for the California exodus?
scubajwd replied to ImmerStark's topic in General Topics
Not to be pedantic on the Salton Sea..it was just one of my predictions: the Salton Sea was created accidentily by engineers trying to control the flow of water; they made hydrological mistakes that allowed the Colorado River to flow there unabated for two years;the compact covenants that irev210 mentioned will be cast aside IMHO to sustain the most people in the American Southwest over the course of the next decade or so; people tend to fight over sex, money and power... but they go to WAR over WATER...and old western saying...I'm sorry the die is cast on this one...most of what I stated is simply going to happen one way or another.. -
Does Sprint have contingencies in place for the California exodus?

I'm 66 years old and in my remaining life time I fully expect to see: 1)Salton Sea to go back to desert as it was prior to the Colo River flood that created it in the early 1900's; divereted Color River to SS will stop 2)Lake Powell will be fully or mostly drained to stop losses to evaporation and to keep Lake Mead from dropping further 3)Colorado River water trickling into the Mexican desert will cease 4) Agriculture in the SoCal regions of Yuma and elsewhere will cease as no more Colorado River water will be diverted to that region..it will go back to being desert as it once was 5)California agriculture in total will have to cut back water usage by 50% at least to prevent further eradication of the acquafers and the devastating consequences of their elimination 6)Food prices likely to do a double over the next 10 years for all of us.. Gov Brown ordered a 25% cutback of 12-15% of the water use in the state exempting agriculture which acounts for 80% of state water usage; failure to do the painful math now only means a lot more pain down the road for all of us....so yes , I'm worried about being able to use a cell phone going forward since available funds most likely will be used for food & water Have a good day!! -
Can't come soon enough....IMHO...along with the demise and conversion of hundreds of wimax towers
-
Sim..we do not even have LTE 800 here in Vegas land and B41 is pretty restricted (currently) to I15 and I215 FW corridors but the overall Sprint experience here is not nearly as desperate as you seem to indicate; our Sprint experience here will take a quantum leap this year as the hundreds of Wimax towers are torn down and/or converted to B41 and later this year we will be seeing LTE 800 for the very first time; maybe your tower density in Minneapolis is the culprit..as many folks here will suggest to you: if your wireless life is horrible then change it..

I agree...seems to be getting better with each update..i finally moved off of Textra Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk

Turned off Smart Lock; battery usage seems much better now..

Tivo, do you put your Note 4 into airplane mode at night? I do...I get way more standby time than 15-18 hrs.. just looking at the power settings..been two days for me on a charge (one 10 hr session of airplane mode) and I'm at 45%..the power setting claims I have two days left (if this is lite or no usage , I guess)..I'm sure you've checked for offending apps but what is it that is eating your battery? Are you rooted? Stock LP?
-
Right now my battery life for my usage pattern seems to be a bit better with LPop; but my usage pattern is not like most; I'm in wifi mode at least 80% of the time and I rarely stream any sort of videos (Netflix, YouTube et al) so definitely not a power user here as I was before I retired from the rat race..YMMV of course..

Hangouts is working much smoother on Lollypop; can't tell yet on battery life or WiFi calling yet; i love smart lock Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
