  1. Amazon seems to be allowing me to update my line and i am on SERO-P. Says I need to update my plan but if i remember correctly all the sites, including sprint, has said that. Once you get the phone you just add it to your account.
  2. how did they get this working? have to be on wifi or anything?
  3. Nice to see US cellular make the list of supported carriers...i was a bit surprised. As for $649...holy shit.
  4. i think the nexus 5 IS the in between size. they are still pushing it with the 6 and 9 so they still see it as a viable seller (and i think they are right). i really want this but i am worried about the size.
  5. Yes true, but actually I already do that now with 30 MBits. Web site browsing has little to do with being a benefit for a gigabit connection.
  6. Do you suddenly have the need to click another web page or two when on a gigabit line? When I am done reading...I am done reading / browsing. Are you given more time to watch another netflix movie? Web sites should behave the same when on a 30 MBit cable line or a gigabit line.
  7. I thought with this release it would support sprints wifi calling, but doesnt look like it? Bummer.
  8. I find if i disable band 41 it is a lot better.
  9. yes, i have it but it does not show the phone actually scanning the bands for an LTE connection which is why I have to go into engineering to see it happen. I drop EVDO, watch the phone scan band 25 then 26 then 41 then parks on 51 and I have EVDO back.
  10. Which is being discussed? Dropped 1x and leaving only EVDO or dropping EVDO and leaving only 1x quite frequently? I drop EVDO quite a bit and I notice that when it does this the phone is scanning for LTE. I watch the engineering screens. As soon as it is done scanning for LTE, EVDO connects again until next time. Incredibly annoying.
  11. i thought the phone will switch between bands as long as 1x800 is off the test SID and set for your local SID. Some here have said this.
  12. U-Verse was never fiber to the home. Just a waste of time fiber to the VRAD in a neighborhood and then use copper for the rest of the way. They really penny pinched and it caught up to them. I think they are deploying Gigapower to select neighborhoods now though.
  13. well, not everyone is on their highest speed package either. but at the beginning they will probably have a hefty install fee as well for those early adopters. Similar to what comcast does for their 505 megabit tier.
  14. and do what? give every home their own node? DOCSIS 3, at 24 channels bonded provides about a gigabit for downstream and about 250 mbits for upstream with 8 bonded channels...and thats for all of the users shared on that leg. Obviously one would never see those speeds in real world use due to noise and many other variables. DOCSIS 3.1 is the only way to really make this reasonably happen (if they stick with docsis) but i dont believe that will be deployed in the field until next year or the year after. maybe they will run fiber to the home for the gigabit tiers. who knows.
  15. problem is they never really say how they are going to do this. They touched on DOCSIS but im not sure how they are going to deliver gigabit speeds over DOCSIS within the next three years.
  16. Yes the tetra issue was fixed for me with todays update. i love the color options now with this new UI.
  17. anyone still using textra on their nexus? Did you get the newest update the other day? Looks really slick to me. However, with the newest update the number keys do not work when typing a message. also when the keyboard is launched and a message is typed and sent and then collapsed the back button does not work to get back to message list and such. Anyone else see this? The developer is very responsive to the issue however he can not reproduce it and none of them have a nexus 5 to test with so he wants me to take a video showing the problem but i do not have an easy way to do this. if you are seeing the same please send a bug report from the app.
  18. Two local full build towers which had Band 26 launched last week or so i think are in optimization mode now. They have been playing with the BSL coordinates...i think, on 1x800 and 1xRTT. Does this normally happen during optimizing? As for signal check, when it sees new BSLs, does it bold them the first time it connects? They are showing up bold now and then unbolded if i open it again.
  19. have you seen any band 26 on your trip? it is lighting up really fast now down here in southern maine. hoping optimizations happen soon though.
  20. where are you at? USCC has a crazy good network through route 1 and many roads off of it. Most of it is LTE as well, but that doesnt benefit us though....yet.
  21. Doesnt that part of the spec sheet have to do with roaming? It says CDMA 1xRTT EVDO Rev. A Dual Band Digital 800/1900 MHz...there is no EVDO Rev A on Sprints 1x800.
  22. oops...should have done the math. i still wonder if they really wont take action on someone that slams through a bunch of gigs
  23. Well, Sprint told us when this plan came out that those on 100 meg or 300 meg roaming options would be cut off at 300 and those on 100 would pay overages from 100-300. I knew the second i read it that they obviously can not cut a user off at 300 megs simply due to reporting delays. We had the first example up thread. He was cut off at just above 300 megs....almost 2 weeks AFTER the roaming occurred. So...are roaming overages ACTUALLY capped at $50 in a month or is the marketing department not understanding how the accounting works and they think the roam cut off will be near real time so no one will be able to go over 300 megs? In other words, will charges actually be levied for those users who undoubtedly go over the 300 megs due to the delays of reporting? Was the $50 cap simply said with wishful thinking on how the whole process works? Also, what good are the text notifications at different %'s when it takes days for usage to update? Someone could be at 200% of their allotment before they even get notification that they are 80% there. Lastly, will people still be canceled if they roam to much? Majority of their usage, etc like old times or does this replace the previous stipulations? What if you end up with a gig of roaming this month? Those on 100 meg plans who foresee themselves paying the $50 that month might as well go for broke and hit it hard.
  24. looks like you can squeeze a lot over the limit. he roamed through the 15th and he only just now got the email. the reporting delays like i mentioned previously make this still a problem i think. so now the question should be, do you tread lightly when on vacation roaming or do you go balls to the wall knowing they will stop you anyways whether you are at 301 megs or 900 megs.
