  1. just to recap the 5c and 5s both have LTE bands in the 800 and 1900 range correct (Sprint?)
  2. I mean I know that there is more to it than this, but Sprint has almost half the amount of subscribers than either vzw or att. So unlimited data should be able to be sustainable if sprint plans ahead correctly... Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk now Free
  3. So the nexus 5 is rumored to launch tomorrow... Think they will have a sprint version? Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk now Free
  4. Dumb question... But is it "easy" to disable the cdma /lte radios? Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk now Free
  5. Sorry I always thought that was the case: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Wireless_Services The AWS band uses microwave frequencies in two segments: from 1710 to 1755 MHz for uplink, and from 2110 to 2155 MHz for downlink
  6. Could it be like how T-Mobile uses one band for download and another for up? Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk now Free
  7. so maybe Sprint doesn't want tri-band phones out till they are closer to launching...
  8. I'm not sure if this has any "new" information, but I think its a good read. Has some time tables but nothing solid (which is a good thing) http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/sprint-use-bandwidth-aggregation-mimo-and-comp-handle-lte-traffic/2013-10-08
  9. that is what basically one store said... not in those words, but said my account and line was 'good to go' for One Up as long as I traded in my s4 with no issues. I even had him double check... I just wasn't ready to do it that day, as I wanted to make sure I really wanted a 5s. now I'm thinking I goofed and when I go back they will say no dice. hmmm
  10. So if you are not 12 months. You can still do a one up by giving back your phone. I'm only 4 months in (I know I know no need for a lecturer lol)
  11. Clearwire only has a protected site in my area... No not an over loaded area these speeds have been like this for about 3 years. I suspect it is all due to broadband connection issues. Im fine with the lte speeds, but the connections to lte are poor and random, you can be standing still and spin around and youll go evdo to lte. All my towers in town are yellow but nothing official from sprint. So again im positive that sspint will make good.
  12. Exactly... people who got burned by sprint typically left and assume its not getting better. In my area evdo on sprint is in the 80-150kbps, when lte is up between 2-9mbps. So at some point It will improve. I really think if SB can pull this off they will have a great network thst might best Att.
  13. to repeat what Nickle stated... (in my words) I don't see Mr Sun as the kind of CEO (more hands on it seems) that like to speak a loud talk, rather speak short and quick with action to speak for itself. Its not a dig on my part I hope but - lets be honest the Sprint network has been needing work for years now! so 12-18 months to steer this boat around the iceberg seems fair as well. I've seen NV improvements so having faith in SB is needed!
  14. a sprint store stated that my line is flagged with some E code (not really sure if it was a letter E or what he flashed the screen to me for a quick moment and I saw what looked like an E and maybe 81? ) and that meant that i could trade in my current phone with no issues... even though my account is not 12 months old. Hmmm now that I can do what I want not sure I will... OK I will but hmmm Has anyone else tried to join One Up with a current contract in affect? john
  15. But you don't pay the remiaing 12 months nor can sell your phone at trade in time. I agree one up has a premium cost. But it's small and I can enjoy modern technology with less headaches... Maybe I'm not following. I know you'll have to continue paying the monthly phone rent after trading in but that's on the new device only.
  16. now this is how I understand it... please correct any part(s) that are out of whack :-) OPTION 1 but its not "your" phone untill its paid for at month 24, if traded at month 12... about $325 has been given to Sprint - trade it in and you get the next shinney phone with no out of pocket money no dealing with selling/trading your phone. NOW if Sprint does give a $15 credit @ 12 months you gave Sprint $144. OPTION 2 My s4 phone: $199 at launch I might get $250 for it in 12 months - so I made $50 (maybe I get $400 on ebay in that case $200 in my pocket) so I sell my s4 and either break even or have $200 in my pocket, but no phone as the s5 sells for lets say $650 - which would cost me about $400 on a good day. NOW don't get me wrong my math above is not very accurate. And Its not for everyone... BUT to me I'd rather take option 1... unless I actually don't get it and if that's the case please educate me :-) as I don't know it all!
  17. by sense i meant the numbers add up... I would expect it to cost me more money, but I get a new phone each 12 months with out dealing with FleaBay :-)
  18. Maybe I'm not understanding these plans correctly, but they don't seem confusing. that said.... Question - I want to pay the ETF on my current line and add a new One Up line once rolled out.... Question is if I have both active together can i swap my current number to the One Up line and then cancel the old line of service?
