  1. If the problem started suddenly without you moving your unit to a new location and now two different units are having the same problem, it makes me wonder if something in your area is jamming/interfering with your GPS frequencies.

I figure out why. It is trees!! They were right outside the window. In winter, they have no leaf so that I get a clea sky. But when leafs were all out, they block my sky view.

  2. I'm pretty sure that's a map of states who have not completed rebranding of 800 MHz.  The new quarterly report on 800ta.org came out in March, so you could at least find some more current information as of 12/31/2014.  There are many progress maps in the report that can probably give you a better idea of progress than what is in the first post of this thread.  Ohio is indicated as being rebranded, but I saw there was a holdout on one of the counties (Public Service) near Toledo who had an extension until 3/31/2015.  I would love to get my hands on documentation of the Canadian side rebranding of 800MHz.  At least you folks in CA have a glimpse of what the heck is holding things up...I haven't found anyone around here who has any idea as to why IBEZ area are still...well IBEZed .  It would seem kind of ridiculous (but not out of the realm of possibility) if Washington was holding up the entire border area all the way to the Atlantic, so I would imagine that things in Canada are further behind than in the US.

I went through some of the Industry Canada database for SW Ontario SMR licensees about 6 months ago and there seemed to be indication that the government had been in the progress of clearing space at the lower chunk of 800 (as in not issuing or renewing any licenses in that chunk spectrum for the last couple years), but it was a tremendous pain to find any kind of pattern.

Maybe that's why there is zero B26 in Washington State but there are plenty just across the broder into Oregon.

  3. I might as well be, 800 voice is solid but LTE on 800 is a different story. So many places I drop to 3G when I could be on LTE 800 but it drops to 3G at only 105dBm. They need to optimize this soon it's only been almost a year now I don't know what is taking so long.

It appears to me that Sprint deploy B41 faster than B26. Is it because there are many more wireless carriers use B41 than B26?

  4. I just updated today and wifi calling got off to a rocky start, first with choppy voice (my internet is fine I use our VoIP landline on it all the time with excellent results) and then another call dropped 15 minutes in.

I noticed that SMS over wifi is not enabled.

Also as far as voice codec goes it sounds like G.711 to my well trained ears, which is definitely not what T-Mo is using. (AFAICT)

What codec is T-mo using? G722?

  5. The small carriers have had LTE roaming on sprint for a while. What's holding up Sprint is that a lot of these CCA carriers don't have accessible LTE networks of their own (or are LTEira) so Sprint has nothing to roam on.

Some small carrier still cannot roam on Sprint. Probably because their back office is not ready.

  6. I can confirm that EVDO roaming in Western Washington is still alive and I would say well, but its quite slow as you probably already guessed.  But better than nothing when I'm in a non sprint area...  Though I have seen 1x roaming in a few areas up here in washington.

Those were EVDO roaming with Inland Cellular not Verizon. It looks like Sprint allows EVDO roaming to most CCA members. I was able to have EVDO on Farmer's Mutual telphone in Idaho.

  7. It is called MPLS. Works similar to a VPN but not really a VPN.  And Sprint only serve those big big cooperation. So you won't easily find them.

Ive never seen anything sprint related wireline here. Its all ATT and Suddenlink wireline wise. We used to have a clause guaranteeing one phone, and one cable operator in the city for awhile.

Sprint also shows as the 'ISP' at my local Target's free WiFi. For all we know, it might just be a VPN connection since the IP address is out of state and pings are higher than usual. No WiMax in this town.

For what it is, though, it works great. I use it each time I visit the store and it has never failed me.
