That is a good way to kill two birds with one stone if you need a device, but if you didn't already know you can get a TMo sim (free right now on their website) and connect to the network. Lets you use the speedtest app without service.
But I jumped on that $200 deal. More like $250 after tax and the cheapest $30 plan if all you want is the phone. I hope that I get money back for not using the service when I cancel after a month to drop in my Sprint N5 sim. But it will be interesting to see TMo vs Sprint preferences here. My commute, both are super strong all the way through. Work and home will be Sprint, but the commute will be most interesting. Then I got a buddy in ATL that is interested in Fi but is unsure of service. Can let him take it for a spin.
When you head back to Sprint, get ready to teach the tech support over the phone on how to properly create a device ticket to move your phone back from wholesale.

That is strange, I'm no where near a T-Mobile tower here in my zip code in Wisconsin and it still worked. I believe the nearest tower for me is about 20-25 miles away.
I wonder what its requirements are to say you qualify?
It isn't for Omaha either.
i checked right before my last post
If you use twilio.com/lookup, it will say your FI number is a T-mobile number. So, If T-mobile won't allow you to port the number over, FI won't do it.

Just back from visiting Billings MT for a week. Our Sprint iPhone 6 roamed PCS on SID 5230. Worst cellular service I've ever experienced. Failure to complete or receive calls. Data didn't work at all despite the Sprint Extended 3G display.
Outbound calls frequently failed after a short beep sound. Couldn't make SMS or iMessage work. No data of any kind.
Weird and bad is what one sees there at the moment. This is a far cry from the days we had the old Qwest sites marked as native and much of Alltel marked as native. Roaming or no for billing sake, the network in Billings is very definitely broken.
The only saving grace is we had WiFi much of the time, and enabled WiFi calling or it would of been even more ridiculous than it was. Anyway, sad to see things decline to the current level.

Any idea who is the provider?

The rule is that if you are coming to the studio to view the public file during normal business hours, you must be allowed entry to be able to do so. You cannot be required to make an appointment. A non-commercial station who was concerned about their security received a fine over the issue.

Ok. That sounds about right. I thought it was about use their studio equipment.
-
public access to the studio
Really? I might want to try
-
How much are broadcasters paying for their spectrum?
Zero dollars!

So what did Sprint do differently to give it a boost on ping?
-
That's odd. Has anyone been to Orlando with pings this low? I know in Tampa pings are in the 40's on average with the occasional dip into the 30's
Did you realize that on the top of the screenshot, it says LTE band4.
-
No, not band 12. He likely means co channel interference from outside the TV market or adjacent channel interference from within the TV market.
AJ
If that happened, shouldn't FCC take action on the person who cause the interference?
-
In my market (Cleveland/Youngstown, OH), there's already interference in excess of FCC guidelines for at least two stations in my region
Interference? How? From B12?
-
Well, $20+$10/gig is pretty expensive. And Google has money. So, they'll give you full access.
-
There is no information on the screenshot to say it is on Verizon.

The 5X should have CA as well, I think the modem is the same as the 6P. The Moto X Pure I think is the previous generation (like the Nexus 6). If it has the Snapdragon 805 then it doesn't have B41 CA.
Sent from my Nexus 6P
Snapdragon™ 808 is pure edition same as 5X
-
The 6p does, if you want to stick to the Nexus line. The screen is a tad bit smaller (same resolution though), but I've found it makes one handed use a little easier.

How about 5X & Moto X pure?

em... no B41 CA. Is there a list of devices that support B41 CA?
-
There isn't much "government tower" out there and I don't think they will be cheap.

Well, this will be a list that reiterates some inherent disadvantages already stated and adds a few more...
- Yet another boutique band for Sprint -- there is no band 14 ecosystem.
- Even another set of low band antennas per sector would be required to support 700 MHz.
- Construction requirements would dictate that Sprint build well outside of its native footprint.
AJ
Those disadvantages may not be disadvantages if Sprint won the bid. However, Sprint will be in disadvantage during the bidding process and Verizon could easily win.
-
Almost certain compatibility with already installed band 13 700 MHz antennas would be an inherent advantage for VZW. However, FirstNet band 14 would require new RRUs. So, VZW probably would have to install RF multiplexers to continue to use its existing antennas. Alternatively, VZW could replace its band 13 base stations with dual band 13/14 RRUs. And that might be the gambit, since the Release 8 band 13 equipment is getting outdated.
AJ
And Verizon get a government subsidized network upgrade.
-
They may not use VZW in every market. But if they show no coverage, they aren't using AT&T either. Because AT&T does show coverage between Spokane and Montana. Also, Sprint could be roaming on a local provider, or their maps are inaccurate. Because we know Sprint is not roaming on AT&T.
Using Tapatalk on Note 8.0
But T-mobile occasionally roam on AT&T and only part of AT&T's network.
Next time when you roaming, try to force T-mobile *#*#34866(FITMO)#*#* and see if AT&T comes up.
-
What's shown for 2G coverage in South Dakota, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wyoming lines up with VZW coverage. I have never been on AT&T using Project Fi. Not once. Just Tmo, Sprint, VZW and lots of little operators.

The reason I say AT&T is Idaho.
If you look at the I-90 between Spokane and Montana, Project Fi and T-Mobile's coverage map show it as no coverage. however, in Sprint coverage map, it shows as roaming. Project Fi's coverage map in Idaho is exactly the same as T-Mobile.
-
I roam on Verizon 1x all the time here in South Dakota. Its been that way since summer. I don't know if I'd call it roaming. It counts exactly the same. It's just limited to 1x though.

The Project Fi Coverage map doesn't seems to include Verizon Roaming. It did include AT&T roaming from TMO.
If that's true, Fi is the only service that can use all four networks.
-
My Project Fi get to roam on Verizon today. Is it accidental? Or Google has open up roaming.
-
Because uplink of one band cannot be located adjacent to downlink of another band. Otherwise, interference problems arise.
AJ
Besides B13, is there any other Band currently used in LTE is inverted.
-
So why inverted duplex is still a thing?
