  1. Easy Pay works this way. You buy a phone and pay tax in store, and if you have an ASL, you pay a down payment on the phone. Then, the balance of the device is set up on a no interest payment plan for 24 months. You can pay that off early if you like, or you can keep it going for 24 months. If you pay $20/mo for unlimited data, then you get annual upgrades. If you upgrade annually, then you trade the phone in and payments are relieved for the other 12 months and you start all over. Im not sure if you can pay off the device financing and keep the phone when you upgrade at 12 months or not. A Sprint employee has to clarify that part. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  2. Zing performance Average Conducted: Antenna Gain: Band 25- 23.5 dBm 3 dBi Band 26- 23.5 dBm 5 dBi Band 41- 23.5 dBm 5 dBi CDMA BC0 - 23.5 dBm 5 dBi CDMA BC1 - 23.5 dBm 3 dBi CDMA BC10- 23.5 dBm 5 dBi
  3. I need the FCC ID of the Zing so I can look it up. I always forget to write things down like that. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  4. I'm not sure. I don't really know how antenna gain works. But I would think so. I'm not thrilled about the max conducted power on the LTE modem. It's kinda limiting if you ask me, but if antenna gain helps a lot, then it counteracts mediocre RF.
  5. Ok. I finally looked at the FCC docs for the Gateway. And they did it this way. It's a router utilizing a wireless module using a different FCC ID. That's why I never discovered this device until after Sprint announced it. Talk about secrecy. Anyway, the Max Conducted power is 23.49 dBm for Band 41 with an Antenna Gain of 9.5 dBi. Band 25 is 24.76 dBm with Antenna Gain of 8 dBi, and Band 26 is 24.92 dBm with Antenna Gain of 7.9 dBi. CDMA side of things is: Band Class 1 (PCS) 24.76 dBm average Band Class 10 (SMR) 24.84 dBm average Band Class 0 (Cellular) 24.69 dBm average (based on 1xRTT roaming)
  6. You are probably right. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  7. With people who tear the iPhone apart and prove that the 16GB 5 was only $199 for Apple to manufacture, and MSRP was 650, that is quite the profit margin. If they drop the retail price of the iPhone down even $100, people would go nuts and buy more. When they dropped retail pricing on Macs before, people bought more. The MSRP scheme has always been a rip off across all industries. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  8. Agreed. I have a friend who has Cricket. I may just convince him to join as the last member of my Framily because of this merger. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  9. I don't go full flame on anyone about iPhone vs Android anymore. I have both the iPhone 5S and the Nexus 5. And I happen to like the Nexus. It's a very well designed phone. But overall, I prefer the iPhone as my primary device. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  10. You forget you are talking to an 'isheep' as they call me. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  11. I sure hope so. In a market where MSRP divided into 24 payments, things need to be lower so people don't go nuts over the price of a phone. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  12. It won't be long before the price of phones starts dropping now that 3 of the 4 major carriers have embraced device financing. I believe Verizon is jumping on board too, if they haven't already. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  13. What 3rd party retailers choose to do is their business. The marketing model that Sprint is adopting will gain a lot of traction before long and even the 3rd party retailers will abandon the subsidy model. The subsidy model is a rip off model. Always has been. I hated being bound by a 2 yr contract. And as a staff member, I ask that you would please be respectful to other members here. We are here to dialog, not be vindictive over this or that. Members on this site have called for the end of carrier subsidies for well over a year before One Up and Easy Pay were introduced. 14. I know for a fact that 1x800 works on the 5S because I picked it up going east on 58 heading out of Bakersfield not long before it was accepted by Sprint. I'm going to jailbreak my iPhone 5 now that it's out of warranty and put a different PRL on it and test it out and see if I get 800 voice. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  15. In the 1x engineering screen, look for band class. If the band class is not listed as PCS, then make sure it says [10] in the brackets to the right. It slides left to right. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  16. Maybe the 2 PCS licenses. But I'm sure the AWS will go to T-Mobile. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  17. Bribes. There were conditions placed on this merger, like buildout requirements no more than 18 months. On Leaps unused spectrum, they have 3-12 months to build it out, or they lose it. So AT&T will have plenty of capex this year and next year. They aren't out of the doghouse. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  18. T-Mobile is already rebanding. If iDEN had been allowed to progress in it's network evolution, it could have been a long term viable option. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  19. So I jumped on iOS 7.1 last night. I'll be glad if there are no soft crashes anymore, and I'm hoping that things will start working better overall, my phone really likes fringe LTE, but that's ok. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  20. Thanks! I hadn't noticed that until you mentioned it. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  21. Not that we know of. My 5S & 5 are both on 51100 which prioritizes PCS over SMR voice. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  22. Welcome new member. As Tim said, back haul is the only hold up for most non LTE sites in the Lower Central Valley. Hopefully before the end of Spring the backhaul will be in place. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  23. The official change logs did not point this out that we are aware of. Do you have other change logs showing this information. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  24. What's with the insane obsession with kicking tv stations off the spectrum they use all the time? For crying out loud, make the government move all it's excess redundant communications systems and auction that spectrum off instead. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  25. I have had that problem with 3 way calling, but only occasionally. It's possible it's just a network communications issue, but not fully sure. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
