  1. Possibly the same price as the GS3 or maybe $50 cheaper.
  2. Maybe, but I think the C6730 will end up on Sprint too. Sent from my Josh's iPad using Tapatalk 2
  3. Yes, I'm serious. However, this may be for Virgin and Boost, and could be replacing the Single Band GS3, just like the S4T did the S4. Sprint could move their entire device lineup to Tri-band LTE this year, and dump all the single band smartphones in favor of cheap entry level phones like the twin Kyocera's I posted here.
  4. by Josh McDaniel Sprint 4G Rollout Updates Saturday, April 26, 2014 - 4:45 PM MDT Samsung and Sprint are planning to re-release the Galaxy S III in a Sprint tri-band LTE edition. According to the Sprint UA profile, the SPH-L710T has mostly the same specs as the original GS3, except the inclusion of tri-band LTE, and an upgrade to Android 4.4.2. Plus, in a nice twist, Samsung didn't make confidential the antenna diagram for this phone, so I include it for your viewing pleasure. Remember, as with all other Sprint tri-band LTE handsets, this phone is not capable of supporting SVLTE because the single transmit path is shared among CDMA1X, EV-DO, and LTE. But the phone is open to be another Sprint Wi-Fi calling capable device based on the fact that Samsung made sure to include this phrase in the simultaneous transmission scenarios section: "Pre-installed VOIP applications are considered." Also included is 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi with support for 40MHz 802.11n carriers. Unfortunately, in hotspot mode, all 5 GHz Wi-Fi is disabled. Source: FCC, Sprint UA Profile
  5. Frankly, I can't understand why many people seem to think Sprint shouldn't spend money on AWS 3. The feds already said they are leery of a T-Mobile buyout by Sprint/Softbank, and that all future transactions will include the BRS/EBS in the spectrum screen. Since the next 2 auctions aren't subject to said screen, I think that Sprint should participate in the AWS 3 auction, and build out an LTE network on AWS 3 as well for capacity purposes. If they can get another 10 MHz nationwide or more, then that's just icing on the cake. Remember, Sprint is doing CA on the Clearwire Spectrum, so that doesn't stop them from doing CA on the FDD/LTE spectrum they own as well. CA with 800SMR, AWS 3, & PCS would yield up to 15 x 15 in many markets. That would yield some pretty decent data speeds.
  6. I really must have been tired. I thought I mentioned that they were both triband. Oops. I better update that.
  7. On April 11, a pair of Kyocera phones received FCC OET authorization; the C6725 and the C6730. Midrange "meh" type phones. But there is something different about these two "meh" type phones, they are both tri-band LTE for Sprint. All we know really is the C6725 has Android 4.3 and the C6730 has Android 4.4.2 and they both have 2000mAh batteries. No known details about processor size and RAM and screen size are available yet, unless someone can find them on the Sprint UA Profile page. I unfortunately can not find them. As more details emerge, I'll update this post.
  8. Yeah, competent users is the key to all of this. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  9. I'm going to once I finally get around to updating my iPhone. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  10. Nothing new for iPad modem, still 6.02.00 Haven't updated my iPhone yet. 7.1 modem is 2.18.02 Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  11. Yeah, that is one problem. Checking rural counties might yield building permits even when local towns don't deal with them. Of course, YMMV. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  12. Fortunately, all tower information is public, you just have to know where to look. If someone took the time, they could compile moderately complete tower maps for all 4 carriers with just building permit data all across the country. That is how I compiled it all for the Vegas market. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  13. My credit is shot, so Barclays rejects me every time. So financing thru Easy Pay is my only option. However, the $349.99 on the 1st Gen iPad mini 64GB is a really good deal and I could probably fetch $450-500 on eBay for it, and walk away somewhat happy. But I like my iPad mini and plan on keeping it for a little while. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  14. Yeah, they make that button hard to see so you don't really know you can click it. Just a minor annoyance. Sent from Josh's iPhone 5S using Tapatalk 2
  15. Yeah, I did correct it. You'll just have to refresh the page to get the updated table. Thanks again for noticing.
  16. I don't know. I guess I wasn't thinking. It turns out, that owning a tablet on a 2yr contract is cheaper across the board than to own one on Easy Pay. Thanks for questioning my math.
  17. I'm counting the cost of the etf. I sure hope I did my calculations correctly. Maybe I didn't do that with the phones. That's what happens when I'm trying to write a computer program at the same time I'm building a tablet comparison. That could potentially change everything. Sent from my Josh's iPad using Tapatalk 2
  18. I fixed the table. My embed code didn't include sizes for some reason, so I had to add them in manually. Refresh so you can see it in a better size.
  19. This thread compares the cost of Sprint tablets by buying on Easy Pay or 2yr contract. However, this works much differently than phones do. Sprint has priced some tablets to be equal in pricing either way, 1 is cheaper on a 2yr contract, and the rest are cheaper on Easy Pay. Odd pricing for sure. My initial math was wrong. Thanks to jeremyvbk for catching it. Overall, the total cost of owning a tablet on Easy Pay is anywhere from $100 to $200 more expensive over 2 years than buying it on a 2 year contract.
  20. Updated the list today: Added the customizable Motorola Moto X in 16GB & 32GB since they are available on Easy Pay now. Added the iPhone 5 in both 32GB & 64GB since you can buy them online with either a 2 year contract or Easy Pay. Hid the LG Optimus F3 and the LG Mach since they are no longer available for sale. Upcoming in compliment to this thread will be a thread entitled: Tablets: Easy Pay or 2yr contract. Which is better? It will be a reference thing so people can see if the cost of a tablet is good on Easy Pay or a 2yr contract.

  22. Sorry, but they shouldn't have done it that way. That's my official stance on Google. I think some other carrier paid them off to cripple the Spark update so Sprint users don't have access. Sent from my Josh's iPad using Tapatalk 2
  23. Google is just a company full of idiots apparently since they've had over 5 months to figure this Spark thing out. Sent from my Josh's iPad using Tapatalk 2
