    I would hope that by the end of the year that all new smartphone releases would be required to be LTE compatible. I know that Verizon is now making that a requirement and pretty soon at&t will start requiring manufacturers to build phones that only support HSPA/HSPA+/LTE, seeing as how they are trying to turn off their legacy GSM voice and EDGE data networks.

    I have MikShifted G 2.1 on my Evo Shift and battery life is still a crutch for me. Now I have an extended battery on my phone hoping that will alleviate the problem for a while.

    New Protection sites? Wow. What a shocker. Hopefully Clearwire will start upgrading to LTE as well. I'm really looking forward to what's in store for the rest of the year for LTE devices.

    I was playing around with changing servers today to one closer to Visalia and I hit 8860 down and 1481 up (with a peak of around 1800 up). And that was with 159 ms ping and 2 bars of Sprint 4G. Next best test was 7583 down. 3G speeds in Visalia still suck with 300 k down even at 1 am, but at least it's consistent through the day and night now.

    I would sure think that at&t iPhones were part of that count, but I guess it could be possible that they aren't. I'm surprised that WiMax still has that much life left after all griping and complaining people have done because Clearwire stopped rolling it out like they should have.

    Team Mik is continuing active support for the Shift. And in the case of old phones, the Shift is only a little over a year old since release. I got mine a month after it came out, so it's not that old, lol.
