  1. $550 is a screaming deal. The original EVO was more than that when it first went for sale. Wasn't it like $649 on opening day? And then started coming down from there? $550 is tempting to buy off contract.

  2. S4GRU announced the Kankakee cluster a long time ago. It has also been on our Network Vision maps for a long time too. However, one of the things that many people don't realize is the Kankakee cluster is east of the city of Kankakee straddling the Illinois/Indiana state line. It doesn't actually cover the city proper of Kankakee at all.

  3. I have the same problem with Tapatalk. I haven't found a work around. I don't have the same problem in ForumRunner, though. Is everyone who uses Tapatalk locked out of the Sponsors areas?

  4. There are several quad core processors on the horizon' date=' but who knows what moto has planned for the next offering on Sprint...

If they come out with a new flagship Moto device with a battery akin to the RAZR MAXX with a Quad Core or a kickin dual core (like the MSM8960), then I would even consider moving to Moto for the first time. But they would have to beat the GSIII to market.

  5. Ok' date=' I heard Calk wasn't going to work on any more builds until the messaging issue was resolved by samsung. Maybe I missed a post somewhere.[/quote']

He has a v1.4 now. I'm downloading now. But I haven't had any messaging issues.

At the present time' date=' it looks like I will be getting the EVO 4G LTE to replace my aging HTC Hero (that is my backup phone), as for my main line (The Photon) I would love to have the Note, but from what I gather (one of the posting by Robert) it seems that the Note is not in the lineup of upcoming devices. So I just may bite the bullet and get it on AT&T. (This would also give me a head start of knowing the ins and outs of the device) If and when Sprint does come out with their version, I'll just pay the ETF on AT&T and get the Sprint one. Shoot, I've payed ETFs before so one more time is not going to kill me.

My take on the Note coming to Sprint...

We have seen the LTE Lab and LTE FIT Device schedules. These schedules went out through September. The Note wasn't on it on March 16th. And devices need to be scheduled for testing months in advance.

So my belief based on what we know is that for the Note to arrive on Sprint soon, it would have to be 3G only. The new Windows Phone that was leaked last week wasn't in the LTE schedules. But it didn't have LTE, so that makes sense. There is a Windows Phone with LTE that is on the schedule with a MSM8960 with a tentative September release date.

I have a hard time believing that Sprint would release a 3G only Note. So lets move on to another idea...

Since we know that on March 16th, there was no Note in the Sprint LTE schedules, lets say hypothetically one was added the following week. If so the absolute soonest it is feasible that it could be released is mid August. And by Mid August, the Note specs are getting a little dated, except the screen. And that would mean that Sprint added it the very week after I read the lab reports to even achieve that date.

So I'm guessing it means that either the Note is a Fall release on Sprint, Sprint waits for a GS3 Note variant, or Sprint doesn't carry the Note.

There is my Easter wild educated guess for all of you on the Note. :)

  7. Anybody know if the messaging bug has been fixed?

I'm running Calks v1.3 FC22 build FC24 modem and I do not have any bugs at all. My only complaint is that it has only 85% of the battery life of EL29 on GB.

  8. same here in 29569. sprint hasn't put a new tower up here in probably over 10 years or more. there's a huge gap of coverage east of 29569 and west of 29569. these places are highly populated and every other provider but t-mobile and sprint has towers every 2 to 3 miles apart in this county. t-mobile has better coverage than sprint even, but they both drop the ball big time here. i'm sure 800mhz will help out but really they need one more tower in the center of the big gap east of 29569 and 2 towers west of 29569. eh whatever they only care about the big metro cities.

I understand your frustration. However, coverage complaints are not the purpose of this thread. I have excellent coverage in my rural area. Sprint's rural coverage is highly variable. But, it is better than Tmo in 90% of areas. You live in one of the anomaly areas, then.

And although AT&T does have better rural coverage than Sprint, AT&T loves to stick it to their rural customers. Sprint is putting LTE over it's entire coverage area. AT&T said they will not because it is throwing a tantrum about not being able to buy out Tmo and is sticking a big middle finger up at their rural customers who want LTE.

  9. I'm just teasing Ben. :)

And the one off of US 95 looks to possibly be on a street lamp on Oso Blanca Rd. Too bad the map doesn't zoom in any closer. And Robert, this one isn't listed on your Vegas map in the Sponsors section.

This is the same site that Ben posted west of Floyd Lamb Park.

what I've done is find the location of the tower the best i can on Sprints maps, then go to google maps (satellite view) and try to find the tower.

Edit: works well for the tower at s hualapai and the 159.. you can see the tower just west of the Bank of Nevada.

I use mapper.acme.com. It's easy to harvest the GPS coords from that one. I can also quickly switch between Google Terrain, Google Maps and Satellite with Acme Mapper. Highly recommend.

I'm not having any trouble finding these sites. All are either building rooftops or existing co-located sites. Satellite imagery is a great thing. Keep 'em coming!

  10. Richfield, MN https://network.spri...hfield%2C%20MN/ I noticed it on the site for 1-2 months already.

    E 66th st / Portland Ave

Here's one I found when I put in my zip code, 55417, south Minneapolis. This tower looks like it's in Richfield, near the airport:

These are the same site. This one was already on our maps. Thanks!
