  1. That guy in the picture is Viet Chu: http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9230454/Sprint_expands_LTE_to_Baltimore_downloads_measured_at_15Mbps Robert
  2. I have received gift donations via PayPal in the past for others. I had one person even pay for someone to upgrade to the Premier level. All you need to do is write in the Comments section of the PayPal donation that you are Sponsoring someone else and their screen name. Robert
  3. We have a map in our Sponsor section of our website that show all the Network Vision/LTE sites in the West Kentucky market that will get upgraded (in fact, we have maps for all 97 Sprint markets). For more information about how to become a Sponsor, you can read this thread: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/ Robert
  4. We provide in our Sponsor section a thread that updates every week showing all the completed sites in the country. For more information about how to become a sponsor, you can read this thread: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/ Robert
  5. AT&T is also a backhaul provider for Sprint Network Vision in a few markets. But I don't believe that to be the case around Tampa. Robert
  6. You guys are getting hung up as if his results need to be over a whole borough or the whole city. In reality, if he is getting performance like that it is likely isolated to a specific site. He likely has a strong signal, the site is under burdened and has fantastic backhaul. But it is possible. Most WiMax sites speeds are limited because of backhaul, not because of the air link. The WiMax Protection Site here in Santa Fe is AAV and maxes out at 10Mbps. However, some WiMax sites that feed multiple sites with microwave can have a fiber or high speed AAV link. You find one of these that is under burdened and you will likely hit the max speeds around 16Mbps. Robert via Samsung Galaxy S-III 32GB using Forum Runner

  8. eHRPD connection is not indicative of being connected to a completed NV site. eHRPD tends to go live over an area, not over complete sites. Since eHRPD is needed to hand off data between LTE and 3G, eHRPD needs to be on every site adjacent in advance of a LTE site going live. Some markets have had eHRPD go live months before the first LTE site was completed. On another note, we have not had one confirmed live LTE sighting in LA County, yet. 9. This happens all the time if you are actively using 3G data. Phone doesn't want to hand off an active data session it is actively using until it has to, especially streaming. I bet if you stopped using data for a moment, 3G would switch sites. Robert via CM9 Kindle Fire using Forum Runner

  12. Actually, one panel can handle all of them. 800/1900, CDMA/LTE. Each panel can handle up to 4 radios. Each radio can handle up to 4 carriers. Only really heavy usage sites need a second NV panel for each sector. There may be several legacy panels with the one NV panel on each sector. But the legacy panels will be removed in the future, leaving just the one NV panel on each of three sectors on every tower. Robert
  13. We have a maps in our Sponsor section that show all the Network Vision sites that will receive LTE upgrades around the whole country. Additionally, we also have in our Premier Sponsor section NV schedule maps. 14. I'm sure of quite the opposite. I wonder which one of us is right? Robert
  15. I sure hope you aren't comparing bars! Only measure actual signal strength. Maybe the bars reference was just for dramatic effect? Robert

  18. There is already a thread asking this question: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1830-is-it-possible-for-the-sprint-galaxy-siii-to-have-hd-voice/ Robert
  19. It may be in some places. However, I believe there is some legacy vendor equipment that is not compatible with new types of backhaul being deployed. And in first and second round markets they are not hooking up new backhaul to legacy sites. They don't hook up new backhaul until NV work is being done. Also, in the reference to some initial backhaul work, it could be completely infrastructure related and not necessarily complete and terminated service in at the base station. I don't really know the entirety of the scope involved for the backhaul in question. Robert
