avb
http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKCN0RV5UB20151002 Looks like they won't be buying some of those AWS-3 licenses after the FCC rejected their $3.3 billion tax credit scheme. It's also good to see they had to pay a hefty penalty as well.
bretton88
I'm surprised Dish agreed to this, they complied with the rules as they where written at the time (abeit not the spirit of the law). The FCC changed the rules after the auction. Would a court side with Dish?

I would think that Dish could win because they are facing punishment in the form of hundreds of millions of dollars.
Volaris
Some articles are saying Dish chose to give up licenses where AT&T and T-Mobile were the second highest bidders since they're aiming for a deal with Verizon. If AT&T and T-Mobile bids don't reach the prices Dish agreed to pay, Dish will have to pay the difference.
