Assumption of liability

My girlfriend is currently on her Fathers sprint plan and she is looking to get on my account, I am looking to add her to my account! I currently have the iPhone $50 unlimited plan and I absolutely don't want to lose that!

How much would it cost, I tried looking on sprint and I could not find anything really? And how to I go through the assumption process??

The online process can be found here: http://support.sprint.com/support/article/Customer_Instructions_for_Change_of_Ownership/2a4c5654-b645-4613-8262-a689a275e885#!

This can also be done in corporate stores I know, both account holders just have to be present to sign stuff. I don't know if 3rd party stores can do it or not.

Sprint branded 3rd party stores (Preferred Retailers) can also do it. Like Rocket87 said, if an IB is involved it has to be done on the website.

I did it over the phone, just had to conference in the previous account owner and she had to give her PIN, then she was able to hang up and I answered all the questions to create my own account. It was painless, but this was 5+ years ago.

I did it a few yeas ago.(twice over a few years).  Regardless of my situation each time, Sprint required a NEW two year contract on the new account for the transferred line.

That absolutely should not have happened.  I've done numerous TOL for customers over the years and it's not required.

I was on a Sprint account through my church a few years ago (long story...left church, had to assume liability of lines to keep numbers). It was pretty painless, and no new contracts were required. I did it all over the phone. Sprint took care of contacting the existing account owner, and then called me back. They really made it smooth, and this was a few years ago, when all Sprint CS was awful.

Are there higher credit requirements, when assuming a 2 year contract! Or assuming a line all together??

I am brand new to credit and have been working on building my credit up from nothing! I was able to get sprint with a 3 line limit and a $150 spending limit on each line! That was well over a year ago!

Sprint has been the only company besides t-mobile that even gave me, a look or any service! Verizon sucks on this!

I only used 1 line, I bought my phone outright at that time then went and upgraded to a new phone through easy pay, my phone is fully paid off now though!

It will just eat up one of your available lines on your account.

But I don't have to have better credit, for a 2 year??

I don't know the answer, but I don't see why that would matter. As far as credit goes, I know it effects if you need to have a deposit or spending limit, the number of lines you can have and if you need a down payment on easy pay but I doubt it has anything to do with contract vs non contract. Especially since the new plans don't come with a subsidy.

    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
    • What is the cheapest way to try Dish's wireless network?  Over the past year I've seen them add their equipment to just about every cell site here, I'm assuming just go through Boost's website?  What phones are Dish native?
