Had the opportunity to play with an Iridium Go a few weeks ago, and while the speeds are glacial it's still pretty amazing to be in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico on a sailboat and check your email or text message someone at home. I'm fascinated with modern sat networks but with the entry cost so high it means there is little interest with many people outside of the wealthy and industrious.
