Network Vision/LTE - Columbus Market

Did not get off to an early start this morning because of client matters last night.

:) Heading east on I-70 with G2  using LTE discovery and sensorly.  Almost nothing until second muskingum county line.  Phone was constantly lighting up for LTE again and again until Norwich with the exception of Zanesville, which may simply not be visible to the G2 triband LTE.

Cool. I don't get those screen shots well but I'm assuming that's the one by McDonald's right? I live by the golf course so that'd be my home cell. Thanks

The one behind McDonalds. I couldn't resist. You know, chimes when you don't expect it and then that surge of "I gotta go map it". It never had what I would call really strong signal for as close as I got to it. It had some range though being picked up in front of Meijer in Lancaster.

Sensorly is slowly mapping my return trip near I-70 (not yet available on my return).  Much less LTE than in the morning when I was heading west, but still the most ever compared to other trips on this run.  1 or 2 east of Zanesville, one on the exit ramp immediate area to north of the downtown (lots of 1x800 notices).  Northside of Zanesville did not yield any LTE for the G2 (needs to be tested with an older LTE phone).  Gariot was still big LTE.  Went to two sites which will be listed in the sponsor forum.  Chased one false lead hoping for a new site.

A little birdie told me that a large cluster including some of Pickerington is possibly going live on or around the 17th.Any thoughts if this is valid?

We can only hope....

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know the origin of the dark purple blob just west of Pickerington?

We should know by tomorrow morning.

Today's post has been brought to you by Sprint, the letters GN and the number 2.

I don't. I did map on Columbus St, Busey some til it dropped and turned around and took Diley back to 256. I'm good for mapping, that's about all. Sorry I didn't get any info.

Hello everyone,

It's been there for a few weeks. I'm gonna blame it on a glitchy phone. You can get LTE in that area but it's from Alspach Rd south of Canal Winchester.

It'll be exactly 2 weeks since I drove that route Sunday. I was browsing the web wonderfully. On a side note, I just made my step dad download Sensorly to map more in Carroll. He lives just south of Carroll-Eastern on Brook Rd. Edited by newatthis

So I live right by Pine Hill Golf Course and my phone will pick up LTE if I beg it by going outside and resetting data connection.  I'm using CyanogenMod 10.2 ROM so I was wondering if there's a way to have it pick up LTE better/quicker.  Thanks

you're probably under the antennas still. I went west on Winchester Rd and only got -81 when i should have been able to pull -70ish. The general aiming of the tower is 0/120/240 degrees, then factor in if the antennas were aimed off-axis with the mounting poles and the tower height. Oh then power, seemed like the 800 power was low on a sector too. Look at Sensorly, it's kind of indicating weak signal out the south west sector. I bet if you mapped Kauffman, Castlewood, Brandt and Coonpath you'd see weaker signals. The north and south east sectors are banging with that deep dark sexxy purple.

That's what I figured.  I've seen the same thing by the Crew stadium.  Just a random dark spot.

Well that stinks. I mean I'm happy that LTE is here but it seems like you almost have to be lined up with the panels or you're SOL?!  I'm like a mile away - every time I drive by my house I drop the signal as I move directly south of the pole.  I get voice and 3g just fine.  There's dark purple to my west and east.  Hopefully as they tweak the network and work fills in completely it'll be better.  Especially the 800 LTE.  Question: What kind of speeds do you expect from 800 LTE??  5mb or so.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but your device is one of the worst rf performers around. That is from experience... After switching to the nexus five my experience with 1900 LTE is night and day. Last thing you wanted to hear, but it isn't all network related.

No, that's actually good news.  I'm about to upgrade in January.  Most of the reviews for the MotoX are great but think I'll be getting the Nexus 5 since it's tri-band.  How's the battery?
