Does anyone else just suddenly start to roam in a place they usually have a strong signal

Im in chicago and it happens daily at my house. my towerhas recently received its backhaul and i know they are still working on it. full signal - roaming

I actually would like clarification on a related issue. I seem to remember reading that CMDA had better clarity as an overall system than GSM. But as more cell phones jumped on a CMDA tower, the radius of its usable signal would decrease. Is that true?

Granted lots of work is going on but I think its just heavy traffic in the area on a maxed out system. These towers systems were constructed when 40MB hard drives were standard in PC's. Think of how much we get in emails with a hefty attachment.

"Cell breathing" does affect CDMA1X but not EV-DO Rev A. So, data usage is basically irrelevant.

Yea my phone some times does this I check the map often and where I suppose to have strong signal I have none crazy

I've been roaming off and on and frequently the past couple of weeks. Half the time I can't even get a data connection here in Huntsville, Alabama. I used to have great 3G. I wish they'd hurry up with whatever they're doing here. I use data nightly to stream music at work. I had to set my phone by the door for it to get a strong enough signal to barely get internet.
