Possible work being done in Lafayette, IN?

I don't know if it's my phone (SGS3) or if the NV updates are coming into play slightly, but in the evenings my ping is 1000+ and I'm not even touching 0.2 Mbs down. A few weeks ago it was pretty good and nothing to complain about (can't recall the numbers). Anyone else in the area notice this too?

The first Lafayette sites are not scheduled to start work until the end of August. However, maybe they are starting early?

I hope, I don't think it's my phone cuz my old OG EVO was doing the same thing. I'll cross my fingers and think the good thoughts. I'm not against things starting early :-D

Screenshot_2012-07-16-21-06-35.png Its possible cause they had 4g on last nite in highland indiana dont know how far that is from lafayette indiana.

Highland is in the Chicago market, where as Lafayette is in the Indy market.

I love how every time a site has issues its assumed to be a NV upgrade instead of a network issue. This is going to do wonders for the perception of Sprints network health!

Must be a NV upgrade, Congratulations! If you drive to the tower fast you might catch the van.

Nex-tech is working on it. Ive already chatted with them a little. That data issue is happening to all the phones on my account.

I believe the Indianapolis market was having major hick-ups this morning. I drove from Lafayette to Indianapolis around 4 am this morning and had no data until I was on the SW side of Indy, around an hour drive and over 60 miles (I was trying to use Waze and it kept saying searching for network, I then verified it was Sprint (and not Waze servers) by trying to load a webpage).

I am not getting super hopeful that we were getting upgraded, but I hope I am wrong.

Had drastic improvements today (1.2 down with a -95 dBm signal, one bar), I actually stopped and talked with the Sprint people and they said they are tinkering with the towers in the area.

    • Was in Red Hook again and I swear there are more Link5G sites as there are Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T small cells combined in the entire neighborhood. It seemed like every other street I turned down had one installed. Hopefully carriers will start hopping on them soon. Seems like a lot of effort to go through for no one to use them.  — — — — — T-Mobile converted the Sprint site on top of NYU Langone Brooklyn in Sunset Park. I first mapped one sector of it back in November 2023 but I thought it was a small cell so I never pinned it but I ran into another sector today which caught me off guard. I'm unable to find a permit for the conversion so it's definitely a surprise. There's another T-Mobile site 1 block away that T-Mobile initially installed back in 2019 so I'm kinda surprised they're keeping both considering the Sprint conversion is on a much taller building and coule potentially provide much better coverage to the entire area.
    • Still not seeing any ULS postings for pending T-Mobile UScellular merger in Dane county Wisconsin.
    • Came across another Crown Castle Solutions multi-tenant oDAS node in Brooklyn. Located at 40.7002286, -73.9612666. Nothing on T-Mobile or AT&T so I'm assuming these are all Verizon nodes that Crown Castle is anticipating another carrier will hop on down the line.
