Evo LTE quick search?

Ok so long story short, a friend of mine joined the sprint crew this weekend she did want to pay $100-200 for a decent phone so I gave her my 3D and used her upgrade for to get my self this the new awesomeness :)

I am really loveing this phone... But how the heck do I do a quick search? Every android phone up to this point had a search button, and I used mine religiously. I saw on the galaxy nexus that if you hold down one of the 3 buttons at the bottom it would do it, but no such luck with the new EVO. Am I missing something? I know I can stick the search widget on the search widget on a home screen but its just the the same as having it there all the time.

Or is there a way to put the search bar at the top of the screen and have it there all the time like you can with the galaxy nexus?

Thanks

I was missing the search button from my OG Evo as well. I just resorted to putting the search widget on my home screen as I found no other option. It's working well for me. I'm starting to use the voice search more since the button is right there on the widget. Almost makes me feel like I'm in a Siri commercial. Well, except for the phone talking back to me. And except for the part of looking really douchey having a conversation with myphone.

LOL

Yeah I love the voice search also, the old evos would do it by just holding down the search button. I miss it. I'm just going to email and call HTC then.

Thanks.

    • June 1st security update installed on s24 ultra factory unlocked. No functional changes detected. No play system update yet.

    • In China now and roaming on China Mobile with Google Fi/TMUS. 5G is enabled on roaming, however most areas in China have NSA disabled on the network. so SA is the only way to get 5G. This is only possible using a native SIM from the Chinese carriers. Also, LTE CA is disabled on basically every site, except for a few I've come across while on the bullet train.   I'm lucky enough to be in a small town where NSA is still enabled on China mobile, so I'm able to have a decent experience while roaming. Haven't speedtested much but it seems to top out at 300mbps over roaming on b3 + n41 100mhz. The networks here are dense AF and every site seems to have midband 5G deployed. Also, interesting to see that most sites have antennas branded by the carrier, or painted a certain color (which I haven't figured out what that means yet).
    • My S21FE, which is my primary phone, has burned in quite a bit from SCP.  Not sure I could get a good picture of it, so I won't try.  Helpfully, since SCP allows full customization of app colors, I'm going to see if I can't undo it a bit by flipping the colors. https://imgur.com/a/QQr5Ncv We'll see how long my eyes tolerate the change... - Trip
