It seems like the month of August is typically Sprints Motorola announcement month.  Does anyone else associate the two together?  Oh well for this year!  

 

What other brands do you associate with months of the year?  With Sprint or without?

HTC and Samsung flagships arrive in the spring. Samsung "phablets" happen in the fall. LG, who knows? That is one crazy son of a bitch OEM.

Apple is September.

 

Ironic, because apples start being harvested in September and into October.  Coincidence?  I think not!  

 

I'm waiting for my Pink Lady and Fuji's to debut with the latest specs here shortly.  Hopefully Safeway will have all the latest versions before everyone else.  I don't want to have to stand in line this year.  Can't wait to take a byte!

I'm waiting for my Pink Lady and Fuji's to debut with the latest specs here shortly.  Hopefully Safeway will have all the latest versions before everyone else.  I don't want to have to stand in line this year.  Can't wait to take a byte!

You are late to that party, OS X 10.9 is Mavericks, a famous surfing area off the coast of California, and OS X 10.10 is named Yosemite. (Ps, and this is for anyone, if you don't know where Yosemite is, smack yourself). So the new OS X naming convention is famous places of California.

I know, I'm running Mavericks on my laptop. I'm talking when they inevitably merge the two OSes. Does iOS have code names like OS X?

Yes, iOS code names are based on ski resorts.

Well, I wasn't trying to pick on Apple or iFans. I was just picking silly ski resort names from memory. But I could see how someone could think I was from that list. :lol:

 

I guess someone could think I was calling iOS bogus or a Mass of Nothing. :hah:

 

I have always liked the name Brian Head for a ski resort. In Utah, they use Brian's face acne as moguls. And his nose makes an amazing jump!

Robert knows my reference, but for everyone else, Heavenly is a ski resort in South Lake Tahoe, CA.  And in this iOS codename convention, it fits the bill in more ways than one.

For Sprint band 41 and carrier aggregation, maybe it should be called iOS 9 "Purgatory" -- even though that ski resort is in Colorado, not California.

      I think the push for them is adding US Mobile as a MVNO with a priority data plan.  Ultimately, making people more aware of priority would allow them (and other carriers) to differentiate themselves from MVNOs like Consumer Cellular that advertise the same coverage. n77 has dramatically reduced the need for priority service at Verizon where the mere functioning of your phone was in jeopardy a couple of years ago if you had a low priority plan like Red Pocket. Only have heard of problems with T-Mobile in parts of Los Angeles. AT&T fell in between. All had issues at large concerts and festivals, or sporting events if your carrier has no on-site rights. Edit: Dishes native 5g network has different issues: not enough sites, limited bandwidth. Higher priority would help a few. Truth is they can push phones to AT&T or T-Mobile.

      Tracfone AT&T sims went from QCI 8 to 9 as well a couple years ago. I'm pretty neutral towards AT&T's turbo feature here, the only bad taste left was for those who had unadvertised QCI 7 a couple months ago moved down to 8. In my eyes it would have been a lot better for AT&T to include turbo in those Premium/Elite plans for free to keep them at QCI 7, while also introducing this turbo add on option for any other plans or devices. As it stands now only a handful of plans can add it, and only if you're using a device on a random list of devices AT&T considers to be 5G smartphones.

      My Red Pocket AT&T GSMA account was dropped to QCI 9 about a year ago.  Most recently 8 for the last few years prior.  Voice remains at 5.

Based on how I was treated with my Credit Limit, it's definitely not the same company it was before the merger, and it's entirely possible they'd try it.
