  1. Over the last few weeks my note 3 has started to hang when moving between towers. It's not switching from 3G to 4G as easily, and I'm often having t toggle airplane mode. Sometimes it seems to even drop signal completely when traveling in areas without prior trouble.

This is in and out of Durham and North Raleigh.

Anyone having similar issues? Seems to be it started in the last month.

  2. Curious as to your experiences on this - I used the aux port hooked up to my Note 3 and the stereo on our van recently on our road trip. The sound was terrible. A lot of noise, couldn't get clear sound, was really annoying. I know my HTC Evo LTE had "beats" built in, but that thing sounded good in the car and this Note is awful. Same aux cord being used, same vehicle.

    Why the poor quality sound?

  3. Has anyone been getting some force closes and app's hanging when making and hanging up a call?

It happened several times this morning. First time the app was hanging in a froze state and it wouldn't let me hangup the call. Eventually I got an error msg saying some "android process stopped working". The next time I made a call I got a white screen (the call went through fine), and then when I went to hang up it said "activity phone (or soemthing like it) stopped working, do you want to close the program".

Any thoughts? I'll try to get a screen shot next time it happens.

  4. if your imei didnt work its because some posters on slickdeals started stealing other people's credits.

one guy bragged about having 1000 in google play credits because he kept generating different imei numbers. i alerted the mods there but they dont seem to care.

this is verified because my friend went to log in his note 3 and his wifes but the site said they were already claimed

Nice. This is also probably why the deal didn't last more than 14 hours. People screwing others by stealing.

  5. That sucks about the $76 for one week. I tried out the Note 3 on the AT&T network for 11 days and I paid $31. But then, I wasn't charged a restocking fee and my CVS corporate discount waived the $36 activation fee.

Took 2 calls but got them to credit back the restocking fee. Both customer service reps were clueless about the triband/network issues, although the guy in the Corp store knew the deal.

I may jump on the Note 3 from Amazon for 250, or wait and see if Sprint fixes the network here.

  6. Said goodbye to my N5 today. Not going to wait on Sprint with a 3G only phone. If they get Raleigh going soon, I may go right back to it.

Gonna have to argue with customer service though, they charged a $35 restocking fee. Either they are going to credit that back, or credit my activation fee back. Not like I returned it "just because". They are the ones who knowingly released a phone that couldn't function as advertised in so many markets.

  7. Stupid HP printer plug app is hard coded ? Is rooting the only solution to remove it ?

Yep, for a phone that wasn't supposed to have bloatware, I would classify that as such.

  8. Does anyone else miss the glass back of the N4? I can completely understand why they got rid of it considering how easy it cracked, but that was one gorgeous phone.

I loved the aluminum finishes on the HTC Evo LTE and One. Something I wish they would do on a Nexus device.

  9. It's going to be a while. The Raleigh market has quite a bit of old Motorola equipment, ALL of which needs to be replaced.  As far as I can tell before the know LTE/ecfsb issue surfaced they have been primarily focusing on 4G upgrades and leaving 3G for later.  All future work will do simulataneous 3G/4G upgrades. Bottom line I'm going to hold off on buying my nexus 5 for a few months until the dust settles.

Yeah, I was sort of planning to return mine and revert back to my EVO LTE until they get it sorted out. Who knows, maybe I'll even get it for a few bucks cheaper then.

  10. Thanks, I just downloaded this and set it up. Have you noticed any ill-effects on battery life? It mentions that it could cause wake issues (device unable to sleep)... Unfortunately, just got the phone yesterday so I won't be a good sample but I'll keep everyone posted.

Yeah, I noticed my battery ran down fairly quick today. Not sure if it was Lightflow or not. May have been the Google Now cards, specifically the Maps one. Got that turned off and will see if it fares better tomorrow.

  11. I would like to see them sell 2 models. Make a budget priced one like the one we have now and sell it for cheap. Then make one with a better screen, 32 gb, better sound, and a bigger battery capacity for a higher price.

  12. Hopefully if enough people voice not liking the hangouts integration Google will release their messaging app on the play store like they did with they keyboard. I personally used 3rd party ICS/JB keyboards until Google finally released theirs.

Side note-Sprint hasn't even given my ordered SIMs any tracking info!

speaking of keyboards, I haven't used a stock keyboard in several years. Swiftkey has been well worth the money.

  13. For what it's worth, if anyone is looking for a great traditional SMS app, I recommend Textra - it's fast and lightweight with a clean UI; supports 'just enough' features (e.g. group MMS) and does not have any of the bloat that comes with something like GoSMS.

I second that... downloaded Textra bc I didn't like the way hangouts was laid out - I don't want all the extras and seeing my entire G+ contact list  in there was annoying.

  14. Haven't we known for awhile that triband devices won't do both?

Yep, but should we really expect someone to pop in and read through 70+ pages to find out?

A sticky at the thread opener of known issues or common questions would be helpful to cut down on duplicate questions and answers.
