  1. Same happened to me. The tower got upgraded but the signal was shotty because it seemed like they turned on a few sectors but not the one directly pointed toward my home!

I think they so that so more people experience coverage in diff areas as they put up. It's just a rotation, but still the same panel

  2. not a good idea i think. i will wait until at least 50 percent of the towers has LTE and also when triband phones come out.

I'm guessing the next iphone will be at least dual band with 1900/800 LTE . That's good enough. Yes Triband would be nice, but 800 will be sufficient.

  3. I went to the museum of art and design on 57st..parked around 63rd st and Broadway, noticed blazing speeds during rush hour!! ( 5:30pm)awesome to see midtown getting there.

    16mb down 8mb up 38ping!

I wouldn't call 57st midtown. How was the museum? How much is the fee to get in?

  4. i really think they should make the data plan like tmobile. make it unlimited no throttling until 5gb, and after 5gb, 3g speed only. I forgot to put wifi on the other day and youtube/netflix ate up so much data.

If I'm not mistaken, tmobile changed from 5gb to truly unlimited. Sprint should throttle the top 5 percent like verizon does on their grandfathered LTE plan. Verizon throttles those users on the panel they are connected to until more bandwidth is free and then back to normal.

  5. hmmm

s4gru mentions that devices and phones will have 800 capability by summer and year end. Then all of a sudden Sprint and media outlets mention Triband devices by summer, phones by year end all with 800 capability.

    Coincidence, I think not. :P

Anyway, as for the topic at hand, a while back my LTE signal was less than optimal, but lately, both at work and home, its been quite good. i don't even have to use the Tri-Fi hotspot as much as I used to. Speaking of which, I sort of like the look of the new Triband hotspot in the articles.

800 should be available after June 30 sometime. Some phones like the iPhone 5 have 800 voice built in, but not data. Probably the next iphone will have 800 LTE . The galaxy s4 and the new htc also both dont have 800 LTE compatible. So wait for your next upgrade if speed and coverage matter to u

  6. I said the same thing lol, and it's looking like that will be the case. Not that it matters to me, since I don't have a phone capable of LTE, but still.

I know if I didn't have a LTE capable phone, I wouldn't really care. Besides Long Island, most of NYC us done anyway. It's really just LI
  7. yea I agree. but 99 percent of the time we do not leave the city and Tmobile has great HSPA+ speed and now deploying LTE fast. I have to say that at least in urban areas like nyc, tmobile is actually very competitive. However, i still have good faith in 800mhz/2500mhz LTE on sprint for the long run. I have a question. will 800mhz LTE on sprint will take as long as deploying 1900mhz LTE or is it just turning on the switch by a software?

I think it's just a switch. Or it was done at the same time as the 1900 sites and it can't get switched on until after June 30, when Nextel gets shut down.
