Brooklyn has good LTE service. What makes me angry is that there are two towers that I have been watching forever. They got 3G accepted at the beginning on Network Vision but never got 4G accepted ever since. I've watched towers around them get LTE, but never the exact tower that i want.
Which towers were those?

BQE in Brooklyn from about 3rd ave to approx williamsburgh has a decent LTE signal. Wasn't like.that a month ago.

gs3 has just better radio i think. it gets 2-3dbm better than my note 2.
2-3dbm is not a lot. Also diff antenna are diff because of the inconsistency so your never really getting a truly real signal status.

Yup!
That's cool, but I still am a iPhone fan.
Lets get 800 rolled out ASAP!
When's 2500mhz being rolled out?

That does appear to be the case. But not for long, considering the Note 3 seems to be coming in Oct.
Note 3 is triband?
-
Band 26=800 LTE and Band 41=2500/2600 TD-LTE. Bottom line, Iphone 5C/S is dual band 800/1900 LTE bizarre being the only dual band phone, weak move by apple! Im sure their will be plenty of android phones out to balance the load between all three bands. Considering it looks like we are getting all the top android phones with triband radios (Nexus 5, LG G2, Note 3 and GS4 mini) might be time to weigh in your options.
For now this will be the only capable sprint phone to be able to connect to 800 LTE!

End of summer and what progress do you think has been made?
-
I think that you can go into your engineering screen and see what Band Class you are on.
No option

Pretty sure I'm connected to 800mhz in Brooklyn . How can I verify in diagnostic mode. It looks very different and it staying at very low db. Can't find band mode. Help. Need help I'm using iPhone 5

speeds are one thing, but as for coverage, initially when LTE was announced in the Brooklyn market, it did take some time for previous LTE sites to go back up, but as of now, most if not all are up.I can't tell you about southern and eastern parts of queens, but northern queens (far more contiguos LTE and faster speeds) has waaay better coverage than northern brooklyn. A lot of places on Sensorly that were reported as LTE active (in brooklyn) have since lost LTE and speeds have been between 1-5 mbps when on LTE.
-
The stock PRL for the iPhone 5 is 51xxx series. The PRL has SMR 800 listed on a lower priority, so, if you lose 1900, the phone will scan for 800.
Which prl do I need for the opposite? Scan for 800 and if none found, then scan for 1900.
-
Service in Queens is by far the best place i've had LTE so far. When I got to Manhattan service was there but the speed was not. 2 bars in Queens = 3-6mbps up & down , 2 bars in Manhattan = 1-2mbps down & .50up & even with the low ping its slow. Sprint really has some fine toning to do to the Network so that everywhere that has LTE speeds will be the same. Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk
Doubtful queens has better coverage then brooklyn as of now.
-
If I stick with current prl, will the i5 never even attempt to search for 800?
-
The latest 56xxx series is the way to go. 800smr is set to scan first with VZW 3g roaming. Or you can always run the one in the sponsor area that I made with 800smr as high priority with the test SID as well.
U mentioned on a earlier post that the iphone prl and note2 prl will not work. If I force a custom prl, will it work on iphone?
-
1x800 is just that. 1x. 800 LTE will give a bit more speed though
Just to clarify so others aren't confused.
Lol. I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't of figured that out.
-
Hey digi, which PRL would prioritize 1x 800 for voice and still keep me on LTE, especially since there seems to be a big influx of 1x 800 sites up and running in NYC, would probably be reasonably stable.
I'm pretty sure u can be on 800 voice and 1900 LTE at the same time. When u have 800 voice and LTE on, likely when u make a call, your bars level on phone will be high, but as soon as u hang up, the phone will reflect the LTE signal
-
This is the 1x 800 Speed test.
Lol. 800 is not meant for speed. It's for better quality signal/range.

I don't think that assumption is incorrect. I think that a mid-2014 completion of NV in NYC is probable. NYC probably has the most towers of any other market in the U.S. Hopefully we don't see any further delays because of another Sandy like incident.
Well now they are doing 2 things at the same time. 800 deployment and NV. If 800,1900,2500 are done by next summer with NYC, watch out VERIZON!

Ignore my comment above, I just realized you mentioned "launched" Sprint did say they will launch when at 40% POP. That might be a bit overzealous for a place like NYC and a bit too low.
If 40% is what they said, then I definitely agree its 40% done in those 2 Boros. So far away from the whole NYC being complete. To be realistic, I would say next summer.

In some parts of brooklyn it seems to have gone down hill and in other areas it has improved while in other areas there has been no change at all. It's a complete mixed bag. The mixed bag isn't really that annoying, but it seems that transitioning between 3g and 4g ends up in 1x for a couple of minutes. This has me a little concerned when Sprint will be running so many bands of LTE. How will the transitioning between bands be? smooth (hopefully) or will it be a stuttering inconsistent mess?
Yes NYC is a big mess now and sprint made a mistake by making if official. I think sprint felt that its falling behind the other carriers as in LTE (city announcements) coverage area and they made the announcement way earlier then they should have. I really think they should've done boro by boro until its complete. Yes you would have people complaining when is my area coming etc, but at least the boro that would be complete would have people praising the service and make others look forward to something exciting and reliable.

How's the progress been in and around the NYC area for you guys?
The 3G part of NV has definitely gotten a whole lot better in numerous places, as for LTE, a lot of work still needs to be done.

Ughh I hate that little "o" it pisses me off. Thank god on iOS 7 they changed it to say 1x, but uhh isn't BK Launched already shouldn't all the LTE towers be online & stuff.

Unfortunately I don't think it's completely on at all yet. Actually it seemed better before the official launch. Like I said I have been getting 1x a lot. Not sure what's been causing that. Very annoyed now.
-
Does anyone know why I am getting the little "o" which represents 1x almost everywhere I'm going. I have LTE in my area and lately I'm having a problem with 3G and LTE. Anyone else experiencing this in Brooklyn?

Looking to get the 5S right when it comes out. Does anyone know if the new iPhone prl will have priority for 800smr?
