Whyyyyyyyy? Lol
Awesome reception!

Well they got a month lets see if I get at least some upgraded 3G by then .
Once you get 3G upgrades, your patience will no longer run out! I still wouldn't say 3G is good for streaming, but everything else is great!
-
Lmaoo , I wish , no upgraded 3G & LTE over here .
By the summer, you should be able to load a web page, hassle free
-
I was saying that increased usage of a tower does not affect the ping. 1 Mbps 30 ms ping is better then 10mbps and 600ms ping. For browsing that is.
-
I don't think pings make any difference regardless of how many people are using the network, on 4g at least. I had low pings at the stadium
-
In the places you were in. In the Bronx all along Jerome, 3G has been super slow and also has been LTE. Albeit the LTE was obviously better but it felt like 3G speeds.
Hmm maybe they're tweaking the sites. AlcaLu has to hurry and light up the gaps. These Yankees are killing me this season. lol
The minute after the game was over and I exited the stadium, I had an increase of 5 times the speed! .4 to 2.0

Is this happening on days where the Yankees are not playing or just on game night?

That's strange because all places I have been lately with 3G, it's been above average or better! They are prob in middle of updating so you are probably getting no to small connection if any!

Rockland County, New York is currently in the process of being upgraded to NV.

It started already a few months ago

Sometimes I switch to 1xrtt just to test it, and forget that I left it on until I try to watch a video. That is when I remember that I am on 1x.
Is 1x slower then 56k?

We just hit over 3,000 posts!

The reason I ask is because today I have seen low pings (low 100's) for lower Manhattan in the financial district. Yesterday, it was in the 400's. The speeds however are still in the 0.07-0.20 mbps dl. Now that you say Backhaul is in place, that means they must be waiting for the whole cluster to accept the sites for 3G.
I was in the stadium yesterday and got 66ms pings but .4 download speeds

so what it is the benefit to people who don't own 800Mhz phones
It's really a benefit if you own a 800mhz phone so u have more frequencies to connect too
-
Reading up on the 800mhz spectrum. As soon as Nextel is shut down, it looks like 800 will be deployed! Looks like 800 is almost equivalent to 2.5 farther distance than 1900. That will definitely start matching up verizon and the fact that we will have 800 and 1900, things could go very well for sprint.

Wow didn't even realize that was there! That's great! But their are specific questions that I asked before that you had answered, for example. " sprint was slow before network vision because of capacity issues. Since sprint is unlimited and bandwidth will still be used at the same level if not more, how will sprint keep speeds at a usable level?" This is probably a very big question that alot of people have and you have answered it" it might be more advanced, but its not on the FAQ" maybe we can make a Top user FAQ? Again it's just an idea and I'm trying to help out.
-
Just an idea here and I wouldn't mind working on this myself. But I myself and many others have asked a lot of questions and almost any you could probably think of. I think it would be great for newcomers if we made a sticky of all the best questions regarding LTE deployment. Obviously not questions regarding actual cities, but general and advanced questions. I really think if we do this, it will save a lot of actual off topic discussions as well as being extremely helpful to the community. I am volunteering my help, as I have been helped throughout the forum from all the other knowledgable people here!

There's a map on the sponsor section that shows sites that won't get NV at all. All NV sites will get LTE.
I have the map, as I am a sponsor! But you answered my question. Thanks

Keep in mind that every tower that has new equipment installed and had 3G upgrades approved is not active. We have been told that they are activating these towers in clusters, rather than individually like with LTE. So while there are more 3G upgrades than LTE, not all of them are active. Whereas the vast majority of LTE upgrades are active.
Will every cell site eventually LTE enabled or some will just be nv 3G upgraded?
-
is that the whole thing with different frequency thing? 800mhz/1900mhz and 2500mhz will be used so that it will prevent putting too much overloading on one frequency? I am not sure but someone explained me as such.
So if sprint wasn't deploying newer frequencies, then what stops sprint from going back to super slow speeds when all the bandwidth is used up? Also what's makes nv vision faster with 3G? We're the legacy towers not having enough capacity or was the backhaul not built properly?
-
Anyone have an idea what will happen when a LTE site gets overloaded? Besides speeds decreasing? Does sprint have more bandwidth if a cell site is clogged?
-
question, on the deployment running list, NYC is 48% complete, but I honestly do not think 48% of the towers went live with LTE just yet. does it mean their panels and backhaul has been upgraded?

First off, NV also includes 3G. Honestly I thought the number was much higher then that by now.
-
Welcome to my world. Lol
I genuinely feel bad for you!
-
On the bright side, at least it didn't overload the tower and you get 0 data going to or from the cell site. Some BRS TDD-LTE seems to be in order for gatherings like that.
Actually it took me quite a few times to get the app to even start doing the test! This was considered good! It gets me nervous what will happen if people hog the bandwidth around NYC! Can they add more speed to more populated areas?
-
I went to the Yankee game tonight and had LTE throughout the whole stadium. Over 30,000 people there! Check out these speeds! http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2143y82&s=5

I have noticed that you can have voice on 1 tower and LTE coming from another!
