It means they're the main fiber providers.
Wow! Never knew optimum had fiber! Always thought it was just cable.

I wonder if there'd be more LTE coverage in Queens if it was served by Optimum. If I remember correctly, Queens and Brooklyn began receiving LTE around the same time, but Brooklyn, which is served by Optimum, has outpaced Queens quite a bit.
Idk, it's just an observation.
What do u mean its served by optimum? It's using optimums wifi bandwidth for LTE?

6 months passed? After 6 months you lose sponsorship.
Could be. How do I get it back?
-
Unlikely. Well, hopefully. Sprint is starting to turn on 800. It was probably a testing phase, or was isolated to a couple of sites. People in KC have started randomly connecting to 800. It doesn't seem to be consistent there yet either, as I didn't connect while I was there, but others did.
KC seems to get everything first! Really jealous of the Google 1GBPS you guys have available.
-
I'm in the bx, I have yet to connect to an 800 site...
Maybe the OP was a troll?
-
OT: is there a reason that I lost my sponsorship status. I was a sponsor and I lost my status? What happened?
-
With the reactivation of that tower, I have seamless LTE coverage from my home to my summer job. 3G was already very useful, but things got 10 times better with LTE available the whole way.
Ever since that 800 Bronx post, nobody else confirmed that.

I got 1.46 up on 3G. I didn't think that was possible.
Oh an the 4G site by my home got turned on again!
U need to make a phone insurance claim

When downloading app or existing app updates over 3g/4g, it takes very long due to data time out. It has nothing to do with data speed. It downloads when I using the phone that requires data.
The App Store probably prioritizes it's bandwidth to wifi users over mobile 3G/4G. Just a guess
-
Its a little off topic but when my phone updates its application, it can take hourspto download when I am on 3g or 4g. The data times out and it stops downloading and it obly dowbnloads when data is in use. When I am on wifi, it dowbloads in seconds. Do you guys having same issues?
Not quite sure what u mean phone updates your application. If u meant ur phone downloading apps, then the answer is your wifi is faster. Or at times u have a bad signal so your throughput is bad on 3G/4g. That's probably not what your asking though.

When should manhattan have LTE ?? It's so spotty and slow
Spotty it is. The lower east side part of manhattan mostly has a great connection as well as the upper west side. As for mid town, it's hit or miss for now. Manhattan has so many obstacles in its way that it most likely will be finished last from all the Boros.

Indeed it shall rock.
I'll be glad to turn data off and just have 1x 800 for texting. My iPhone will last forever when indoors.
Ah just like the blackberry days in high school.
My phone goes into 1x too much these days anyway so my iphone batt is getting killed. In my house as well I only get 1 bar, so that'll help

Wow this is awesome news. Does anyone know if signalcheck or a similar program is avail for the iphone? Wow 800 is gonna rock!
-
I didn't. Usually I'm on the train using data and it would switch to 3G/4G during tower handoffs.
I tested this from a static position yesterday with 4G coverage. iPhone was on 3G and wouldn't go to 4G. Cycled airplane mode and it connected to 4G right away.
You could say that I just never noticed it.
I hope 800 signal will be auto in real time. Not airplane mode cycle
-
i was able to pick up 800 signal but went away before i can take a screen shot
And where was this?

I agree. Just tested this.
Kinda surprised u didn't know about this

800 where r u???
-
So this just tells me I won't notice anything different for the next few months in Manhattan and Queens.
Not really. It just means that Brooklyn and the Bronx have towers in enough areas that they consider it complete. Lets that number is 75%. And let's say queens and manhattan are at the 30% mark. It will still be deployed more and more. But u gotta was till 75 until its (official)
-
Coverage in the bronx is not perfect..but its fair that they announced it now..I rarely ever drop to 3G unless im indoors.
Is it better then yesterday? The LTE that is
-
Nope, the tower by my home was 100% off this morning. I had strong LTE for a while but then it got turned off. Today, still no dice.
I got LTE earlier but now it seems like its disappeared! Very annoyed!

So are the towers that were on and were turned off now all back online?
They should be

I have a feeling that the next time I pass through BK or the Bronx coverage is going to be the exact same way it was the last time I was out there . SPOTTY!
Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk
At least u can call sprint now and have someone to talk to about it and get more info then before.

If you did, it's more than likely just placebo. It's been there the whole time, but you've tricked yourself into believing it just got turned on.
Not really. For most of us who have already been experiencing it, it's the same, but for people who had no idea, news to them!
-
Trust me, they didn't cut any sites off for the launch. That's more work for them and they already have plenty to do.
What do u think the point of them shutting down the sites for the last week was?
