  1. Although I haven't done a forensic analysis of when/where it's happening, it seems to be when I am in a place with poor cell reception. I seem to get it mostly at home and Sprint has terrible coverage in my neighboorhood.

  2. I've been very happy with the battery life so far. This is the best I've gotten with what I consider moderate usage. Of course my moderate may be next to nothing for many of you so YMMV.

  3. Can you tell what time server it's configure to use? Or is it even using NTP or trying to get it from the cell network?

    The only options we have are to Use network provided time and date or set it manually.

  4. I get the same notification. I mostly just clear it. Occasionally I will click it but it never changes the time.

    Off-topic but; what's the reasoning behind not using Wi-Fi when you're at home?

  5. Maybe it was the bag of Funyuns and pack of Skoal you bought that left them underwhelmed.

    I was more of a Hawken man for the couple weeks of high school that I dabbled. The Funyuns have been replaced by Fritos Chili Cheese flavor. But I'm sure they were impressed by my purchase of Ham and Swiss Lunchables. #TrueStory

  6. LOL, it does make you feel like a boss doesn't it

    Oh yeah! The cashier looked at me like; "When are you going to pay?" I just pointed to her screen like "It's already done." Somewhere Billy Dee Williams was smiling to himself... B)

  7. I made my first NFC transaction using Google Wallet this morning. It was the coolest thing ever! After completing the transaction I looked around triumphantly. The other denizens of the 7-11 were unimpressed.

  8. Back when I had my G1 I said I would never go to a touchscreen keyboard. I always thought my fingers would be too fat to use one effectively. I switched to a touchscreen with the EVO and haven't regretted the decision. I do agree that the iPhone keyboard doesn't work well for me at all.

  9. For the ehrpd people...and others. If you dial ##DATA# then hit view. Go to advanced and scroll down to the bottom. What is your LTE and ehrpd set to?

    Sent from my C64 w/Epyx FastLoad cartridge

    eHRPD = enabled

    LTE = enabled

    Not to be a stickler but mine said "Enable" for both, not "Enabled". Are you guys actually showing "Enabled" with the "ed" on the end?

  10. I just took the plunge and purchased a Squaretrade warranty. I've heard enough good stuff about them that I figure it's a relatively safe choice. The $750 max will more than cover a new Evo at full off-contract price if I need a new one. The $99 deductible is acceptable. The total cost (warranty plus expected deductible) is $170, which is more than what I paid for the phone but way less than what it will cost to replace it.

    Hopefully it works out and I never need it.

  11. This just confirms my resolve to never go into a Sprint store unless it's absolutely necessary. You would think that folks working in those stores would be phone enthusiasts but that's rarely the case. It doesn't make sense that the people charged with pushing your new flagship have no idea about the features of the device.

  12. Unfortunately that was not true for all stores. Mine didn't have my order yet.

    Based on my experience when I went to pick up mine, I'm convinced that stores were having issues with pre-orders/reservations not showing up in the system yet the device is actually in the cabinet with the customer's pre-order paperwork wrapped around it. Unfortunately, that doesn't do anything to help folks today since they won't be fulfilling any orders until Saturday.

  13. I've never heard of Ensquared. I will check them out. Thanks!

    **EDIT**

    I'm also seeing the Asurion Total Equipment Protection. I have heard good things about Asurion and their rapid replacement. Anyone on here have experience with Asurion.

    I don't think I would go with Ensquared simply due to the police report required if your phone is lost. Getting a police report is a pain. The whole Ensquared claims process seems very cumbersome. Also the say that they can replace your phone with one of "like kind or quality" Like quality is a very broad window. That's a little too vague for me.

  14. Anybody ever use Squaretrade for your phone insurance? I'm thinking of buying a plan for my new EvoLTE. The price is fair and it covers liquid damage. I just want to see if anyone has any experience with them.

  15. Welcome Bill. I thinks it's cool that you saved the typing and just copied and pasted your Match.com profile here. Not sure how successful it's going to be. It's a veritable sausage fest around here.

    But anyway, glad to have you! :jester:
