  1.

after you have extracted the files..

    adb reboot-bootloader

    fastboot flash bootloader <bootloaderfile.img>
    fastboot reboot-bootloader

    fastboot flash radio <radiofile.img>
    fastboot reboot-bootloader

    fastboot flash boot boot.img
    fastboot flash system system.img

No need to flash new bootloader, right?

    Edit: Stressing NEED.

  2. First, because you did an upgrade, your wife's line will have the extra $15/mo charge, so you can switch to Framily. 2nd, yes, you can still get corporate discounts on unlimited data. But remember, the discount is only on the $20/mo charge.

Interesting, I had no idea about this $15 extra / charge.  Is that a flat rate.  How long does that fee last, 24 months? I thought it was just the $20/mo charge.  Thanks for clearing that up.

Sorry for the thread hijack.  It is all about saving money though...

    Thanks.

  3. There is no reason to be nervous. You are not a heavy user, and if you are in an area that doesn't have overburdened sites, then there is no cause for concern.

So, here is the next dilemma.  I'm an idiot and just upgraded my wife (S5) a month ago because her phone broke.  Anyone have any success in switching to Framily even after that?  My phone line is out of contract (bought an N5), so shouldn't be a problem...

Edit: Also, is it still possible to get a corporate discount on the $20 unlimited data charge?

  4. The throttling is only for video streaming and only if the site you're on is experiencing heavy load. So it wouldn't be a very common occurrence.

Are there any other T&C issues that would be different from your ED plan?

That is what scares me... I do enjoy streaming video, not a ton, but from time to time.  Especially let's say in March...  I'm really not even a heavy data user, right around 1-5 GB last four months.  Just makes me nervous.

  5. I'm thinking about joining a Framily plan, but am nervous about the terms and conditions that they have set forth.  Am I just over thinking it...?  I currently have an old Everything Data 1500 Minute Family plan and spend almost $150 per month for those two lines.  It looks like right now, without phones calculated in I could save a substantial bit of money per month if I got on a 7-10 line plan.  Any thoughts about the throttling / terms and conditions?

  6. I'm thinking about getting the Nexus 5 and I was wondering which bands I would use since I live in a rural area with no LTE in my area yet?

Where at in Ohio, you may be surprised as to the LTE in your area?  Quite a few rural areas outside Columbus have great LTE.

Edit: The Nexus 5 is a GREAT device and comes highly recommended on this forum.

  7. Im pretty certain that those of us who are picking up LTE in the Shawnee area are pulling in from the Cridersville tower.

Yep, you read that right....THE CRIDERSVILLE TOWER!

How does that even happen? LOL! Do yourself a favor and drive into that little city and watch your LTE come to life.

For those of you not familiar with the Lima area, Cridersville is a town of about 100 people just south of Shawnee.

Im guessing they are in a different market than us cause the in progress map doesnt show anything south of Shawnee.

Lol Cridersville out of all places? Man Lima must be doing real bad lol.

I'm just randomly reading your thread, but wanted to point out that this situation makes perfect sense.  Please understand that Sprint is launching in clusters now due to an eCSFB issue.  Also, understand that they are working outside of the market inwards in order to keep dropped calls / frustration as small as possible.  Therefore, almost all areas notice the same thing.  Small rural towns get their towers upgrade to LTE first and then Sprint works there way in.  This is a generalization and cannot be taken as gospel for all areas.  Another thing to note is that towers are LTE accepted ONLY when they have backhaul installed.  It is extremely possible for one site to have backhaul installed and ready, while another site 2 miles away doesn't get backhaul installed for six months.  Another catch is permitting.  All of these upgrades are major and require a permit.  Some site locations are more difficult than others and therefore require more time / permitting in order to complete.  Therefore, please try to be as patient as possible, the light is nearing the end of the tunnel...

  8. It's soon. But not this week or next. Sorry.

I appreciate the honesty.  As much have mentioned, this site is a double edged sword.  We stay ahead of the curve and therefore we find out information before others.  Sometimes it is for the best, sometimes it is for the worst.  Have we confirmed that it wasn't due to Sprint Spark?  I believe it was mentioned that the radios were not the issue.

    Thanks again.

  9. I'm in the campus area and I've been having issues with not receiving texts until hours later, sometimes even the next day.

It may not seem like it, but that is great news.  Any chance you can become a sponsor and check out the local sites on campus?  There are a couple that you should be able to see.  if you are not able, get Signal Check Pro and keep checking your screens for signs of NV.

  10. Gravity box has a speed meter option also. I used it all the time before I reverted back to stock in update anticipation. Now I'm wary to start tweaking again in case the update does get randomly pushed out soon lol. It was great, and I didn't notice any battery drain. There are options for download, up and download. It also could be set to show up all the time or only when there is traffic.

Thanks for the note. I have gravity box installed already. I'll give it a go.

  11. There is also an xposed module to make that show in the status bar on the right.

Have you noticed any negative battery affects of this module?  I've been thinking about installing it...

  12. What's the cost of joining premiere?

Sent from my XT1056 using Tapatalk

I don't know if you caught the sarcasm, but you need to donate a total of $100 to become premiere.  Simple example, you donate $20 two different times.  You know are able to pay $60 and become a premiere member.

  13. Hi, I have an Iphone 5s, if sprint decides to launch Spark in Columbus will my Iphone be able to take advantage of the 800 MHz band for improved coverage inside?

Keep in mind the question should be not be "IF", but when.  We will have B26 launched in the Columbus market, it is just anyone's guess as to when...

  14. Has anyone been having battery drain issues as of late? In the past two days, the phone keeps draining when it's idle. I've noticed the biggest culprit is Android OS. Yesterday I had only SOT of 42 minutes, but the battery was at 52% when I left work at 3. Today it's gone from 100% to 80% with SOT of only 16 minutes.

I've tried uninstalling any strange applications, but the problem seems to be happening.

    Any thoughts?

    -Luis

I haven't had that problem, have you tried wiping your caches / dalvik and rebooting?

  15. I don't think this plan will work. People are well aware of the iPhone 6's imminent announcement next month along with probably iOS 8, OS X 10.10 and whatever else. The only thing I can conclude is that they are in fact launching an iWatch which will only be compatible with the 5c and 5s due to its better processor, and of course the M7 chip.

I know it has nothing to do with converting people to 5S for b26 relief, because apple could probably care less. :rasp:

Keep in mind... the average joe does not have a clue about the iPhone 6 announcement.  Queue my mother who buys her phone based on sale price only, unless she talks to me first.  This is a HUGE demographic for Apple.

  16. Thanks for Clarifying...

Also, please note if you are not rooted / on the .15 radio you will most likely NOT connect to B41 even if enabled in the band priority.  It is market dependent, but in Columbus without a .15 radio I have had zero luck connecting to B41.  If I switch to .15 I am able to connect to it, unfortunately this .15 radio allows for connections without eCSFB which means you can loose access to incoming / outgoing phone calls (a must for me)...  Not a bad idea to try though for testing purposes.

  17. I've been totally dropping data (no 3G, 4G, nothing) in Short North, Hilltop, and Worthington for a few weeks now.  Considering the level of completion in some of those markets, my thoughts on the network upgrades range from slightly negative to horrendous.  Perhaps it will get better.  But as of now, I'm just waiting out my contract.

So to say there's coverage holes is an understatement.  I'll note that 5+ years ago I never had issues in Short North, and in fact could impress others with how far inside various bars in the neighborhood I'd have coverage.  But today I got the triangle exclamation point standing outside of my gym on High and 2nd.  That's...not good.

Don't believe that network upgrades are finished in those areas yet. In areas where it hasn't been completed, your experience will be rocky until it is.

The_Tom_Burns, you are a sponsor.  Please feel free to check the sponsor map / spreadsheet.  That area is nowhere near complete for NV.  What you are experiencing is the heartburn that is NV upgrades.  It will get better, dramatically so once they are complete.  The time from now until then is unfortunately unknown, but please do not judge the network based on your current situation.  Feel free to ask this question in the sponsor thread for a more detailed explanation of exact towers and their NV status.
